Very interesting thought this. Jesus says to eat his flesh and drink his blood. And according to fr Schmitz, Jesus meant this literally. Interesting to see that no one of the 5000 who came back took him at his literal word. Not a single person, not Peter, not John, not Andrew, not Thomas, none of the disciples. One would think that they at least would understand Jesus to some degree and eat his flesh and drink his blood there and then. Right at that spot. Maybe I interpret the glaring lack of people obeying Jesus wrongly? Or maybe he didn't actually mean it literally....
I agree, he has some kind of spirit, but it's not the Holy Spirit, the man is obviously perverting the scriptures, he's interpreting scripture with his human sinful intellect, he is not born again.
@@rogerhitty7066 It's possible some are fakes but do some research. There are literally hundreds of them. Many have been well documented with multiple witnesses and even scientifically tested by non-believers.
I wasn't sure about my Catholic faith but then I started reading the bible. I never doubted it again and knew when I read John 6, that Jesus is Truly Present in The Eucharist just as He says. I know I can Trust Jesus at His Word.
Seriously? Jesus said, 'eat my flesh and blood' as He stood alive before them. How could it be literal since they would have to eat Jesus alive. Only Roman paganism could come up with such utter nonsense. On top of that, every catholic ignores verse 63, the key to interpretationg Jesus' words: "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you-they are Spirit and life." John 6:63. Spirit is the antithesis of literal. Wake up!
@@tonynoname7644 Did you miss the part in John 6 where people get concerned about eating Jesus's flesh and instead of telling them it was a metaphor, Jesus doubles down on the fact that people have to eat His body and drink His blood, and a decent chunk of His disciples leave Him? Jesus never says that the Eucharist is a symbol, people took His word literally in this regard and He didn't correct them.
If you’re struggling with your faith read “The Miracle Ship”. Also just put God first. Before family and everything else and watch your life turn around. God bless.
There are five mysteries to meditate on Eucharistic devotion. 1. the wedding feast at Cana (Jesus changes water 💦 into wine 🍷(John2:1-12) 2. multiplication of loaves and fishes (John 6:1-15). 3. the teaching on the bread of life (John 6:22-71). 4. the last supper (John 14:1-1726). 5. the road to Emmaus (John 24:13-35). Rev. Robert Stein wrote A Scriptural Rosary for Eucharistic Devotion
He gave us his flesh and blood on the cross. His sacrifice on the cross is the only thing that gives us life. We have to receive this, is what he is saying. The thief on the cross next to Jesus didn't take communion (or get baptized) and still Jesus told him, "Today, you will be with me in paradise ". This shows us there is nothing we can do or have to do except truly believe on Jesus for salvation. The Sacraments are important, but Father Schmitz pumps up OUR act of taking communion so high that it can overshadow the simple truth of the Gospel. And the overemphasis can happen with any religious act if we're not careful. It's human nature to want to be in control and do it our own way, ever since Adam and Eve. But God demands ALL glory and will not share it. He is worthy! Right? So let's think about this doctrine of transubstantiation, that the wafers and the wine actually become the body and blood of Jesus, even though the look and taste don't change of course? This is a little more magical and superstitious than all the other doctrines if you think about it.
Well, for starters, it's what all Christians believed for 75% of Christian history. So there's that. We know from Justin Martyr that it's what the earlier Christians believed as well. Fr is not pumping up "our act of taking Communion." First of all, we don't "take" Communion, we receive Communion. He gives Himself to us. What Fr. is doing is pumping up the MIRACLE that occurs every time Mass is celebrated - that heaven comes down and the church goes up. It's not magical or superstitious, it's miraculous. Jesus is in the miracle business, at least according to Scripture. And if you look at the history of Eucharistiic Miracles, where God actually transforms the consecrated wafers and wine into physical flesh and blood, I'd say we have a pretty good reason to believe.
So yo don’t believe Jesus? And you don’t think he has the power the turn bread and wine into his flesh and blood. Please don’t turn from Jesus like the 5000 brother. Study that passage and pray about it.
It doesn’t matter how we all interpret certain biblical verses. All this does is divide us. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"

Apostolic Father St. Ignatius of Antioch (c35-107) who was a disciple of John and Peter wrote in his letters: "Beware of the heretics. They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in His goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes!" "Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church." -Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Ch 8
Minus good biblical exegesis. Charisma IS is a poor replacement for truth. Such pathetic reasoning. Jesus said, 'eat my flesh and blood' as He stood alive before them. Yeah, his grace is sufficient. No one argues with that. Only the Lord can choose who joins him in eternal life. But at the same time why wouldn’t you utilize the gifts given by God and the church Jesus established? So yeah your faith alone might be “enough” to get saved, but why wouldn’t you strive to live a life of good works to help not only better yourself but also please our Lord. Faith and good works are one and the same.

As Jesus told Thomas: Blessed are those who do not see, yet believe. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:29: “For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.” Question, why would there be judgement on anyone IF IT’s ONLY A SYMBOL⁉️
John 4 is also in the Catholic Bible and it talks about the symbolic living water that one needs to drink to have eternal life. The woman he offered the living water also thought it was literal similar to John 6 with the body and the blood. He never corrected her thinking it was NOT SYMBOLIC. But notice what her reaction was. She believed in Jesus as Messiah which is the response Jesus is looking for. He also talks about this in John 11:25,26 when talking to Martha. The apostle John then reveals his whole point of these signs in his book. To get you to believe that Jesus is the Messiah so that you can have life.
I was shocked to hear two parish priests declare to the entire congregation that the Eucharist is only a symbol of Jesus, not his true body, blood soul and divinity. I prayed so hard for both of them. Too many Catholics don’t believe because of communion in the hand which is. Sacrilege
Imagine I tell you that i love you but I merely give you something symbolic to express my love and not my own self....won't you wonder did I seriously love you?
the cross expresses Jesus’ love. Not communion. It’s symbolic. Not sure why Catholics think Jews would’ve been okay drinking human blood and drinking human flesh. If they thought that’s what it meant they never would’ve done it because it would’ve contradicted God.
@@TheRightMedia So are you calling Jesus a liar? Read John 6. The Jews WEREN'T okay with His message which was why many walked away. Yet the Lord repeated it 5 times. He meant what he said.
The symbol of the living water in John 4 as well as this body in John 6 is all pointing to receiving eternal life by believing in him. He is giving his death and resurrection by faith in him. The something that he gives is eternal life that he speaks about in John Chapter 3 and John Chapter 4 and it culminates in John chapter 11 when he explicitly tells Martha how to never die(eternal life) BY believing in him is what he says. Then he asks her "Do you believe this?"
@@jeffallanday Jesus said: “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. The actual body and blood of Jesus Christ does. If you were among those standing in front of Jesus 2,000 years ago when he doubled down by switching from the generic verb phago for “eat” to a much more graphic verb-trogo-for “chew”, you would have walked away and abandoned him with those that found this to be too hard a teaching.

Where does he say that he will turn man made bread into flesh? That was a while before the cross, why didn’t anyone try to eat his flesh while it was still on the earth? Where does it say that he’ll come to the Alter in “humble obedience” to the priest as said by John O’Brian, and approved by the church. Paul said that whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup you show Christ’s death until he returns. Shouldn’t Paul have said that you show Christ is here? Token Protestant here. I also agree that it is more than a symbol but I would disagree on transubstantiation. If you continue reading on in John 6, Jesus says that the words he has spoken (the ones referred to in the sermon) are “spirit and life” and the flesh is “of no benefit”. THIS is when the disciples leave because it was too hard of a teaching. The same way we as Christians have been so reluctant to lay down are materialistic and Earthly desires. I am not trying to be argumentative but I really hope we can all unite as Christ’s Church in search of His truth rather than clinging to our own beliefs. Love you guys❤
You are not the token protestant which I think you mean ONLY protestant. What Mike fails to talk about is John chapter 4 where Jesus talks about drinking living water for eternal life. Again this like eating the body is a symbol for believing in him. Notice the woman's reaction to the offer of living water. She also thought it was literal. But notice what she does. She believes in him as the Messiah. Which is exactly what Jesus is expressing to Martha in John Chapter 11:25:26 is how one receives eternal life. Many people pull things out of context to support their theological perspective but reading thru all of the Book of John clears up the muddled theological proof texting.
The disciples left because they did take Him literally! Jewish law said you cannot mix flesh with blood to eat. Jesus said, Verily, verily unless you eat My Flesh and drink My Blood you have no life in you. He said this not once but five times. He said does this shock you? They left. They believed the miracles they could see but not this one. He had no choice but to let them leave. If it was a symbol don't you think He'd have chosen His words better or told them he was joking . He didn't ..He let them leave. He also said that "the" flesh is of no avail. He didn't say "his" flesh. This is something we as humans find hard to understand that's why the Holy Spirit is the only one who can bring life to the truth. St Paul said that anyone who partakes in the bread and wine without discerning Jesus Body and Blood brings judgement on himself. How could that be if it is just a symbol! As you are aware, the Bible wasn't compiled til around 400 AD. Please read the history of the Early Church Fathers and history.those who knew or knew of Jesus and His disciples..All of them truly believe that when the bread and wine are consecrated through Priest ordained through Apostolic succession, that truly becomes the Body and Blood of Jesus. Do you think if it was a symbol Jesus, who is all knowing, would let this go on for 1600 years till He found the right Church. Even Martin Luther believed in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Jesus said He came to build "a" Church. But the Reformation brought us now 35,000 to 40,000 different denominations who can't even agree on scripture or how the church should be runned. These people are people of God with deep faith I have no doubt. But you owe it to yourself to go back and really focus on John 6 and read the Early Church Fathers. I wouldn't want you to miss partaking in the greatest gift of Jesus! God bless you!
@@elaina-v1d Hey! Thank you for your reply. I’m not sure if you saw my first part of my reply, but I also definitely believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. I don’t believe that it is his physical presence but I don’t believe that makes it any less potent. The early church fathers definitely had a consensus on the presence of Christ in Holy Communion, but it wasn’t necessarily transubstantiation. To be clear Luther’s view of the Sacrament was also not transubstantiation When I made my first comment, I went back and read through John 6 a few times to try and sort it all out and here’s what I’ve got: When the followers complain about him claiming to be “the bread which came down from heaven”, they don’t argue the bread part at all, but only that he came down from heaven. I admit that I see the argument based on Him doubling down after they are already upset about eating His flesh. I haven’t quite comprehended that. After that, the disciples complained that the teaching was hard to understand, making me feel like maybe there was some complex language at play. Then, lastly, Christ describes how (physical) flesh profits nothing but it is the Spirit who gives life. This was the point at which the disciples left. They complained at the other ones but here is where they finally gave up on this teaching. On a little bit of a lighter note, a few verses down, I just absolutely love Peter’s response. Christ asks if any of them are going to leave and Peter responds with “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” Again, I appreciate you taking the time to give me a well thought out response. I think I’ll honestly have to read it again. Happy 4th week of Advent and Merry Christmas! May God bless you as you continue to bless others!
Jesus did this often in the 4 Gospels. He spoke in parables and did not reveal the meanings. However, there were times he clarified to the disciples the meanings behind the symbolic parables. The actually fulfillment of these things had not happened which is the crucifixion and resurrection. When Jesus talked about these things even the disciples could not understand. But remember the disciples spread this Gospel far and wide after Pentecost and all this had been revealed and the Holy Spirit was coming on believers. Look at the times in the Gospel they would say they looked back on things and understood what he meant(after he died) Like where he said his body was the temple that would rise 3 days later. John 6 becomes very clear after the crucifixion and the resurrection. His body and his blood was shed for us who believe in him. But if the disciples did not understand how he needed to die for us then how would anyone in Chapter 6 understand.
THE WORD OF GOD: Protestants use scripture (the word of God) while Catholics have Jesus Christ (the Incarnate Word of God) to interpret scripture. Scripture 📖 is something that… - Satan and deceivers use (Matthew 4:5; Galatians 1:6-8), - that is veiled (2 Corinthians 4:3), - that people deceive themselves into believing that it offers “eternal life” (John 5:39). The paradox of what Jesus said, that we do not “live by bread 🥖 alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4); we must remember that the WORD BECAME FLESH (John 1:14). It is this “flesh” (John 6:55) through which the “bread 🥖of life” (John 6:48) reveals the scriptures veiled meaning (2 Corinthians 3:14 & Luke 24:35) to His Church (1 Timothy 3:15). It explains why there’s tens of thousands of Protestant denominations who interpret scripture the way Satan does: according to their perverted version. It also explains why there’s one ☝️ Catholic faith that is older and and larger than all Protestant denominations combined. It has Jesus Christ truly present in the Eucharist that interprets scripture for us just as He did for the two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35).
Matthew 5 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Since Jesus said this, why don't we see more catholics exhibiting the evidence of following this command of God? Or is this figurative language just as was used in that verse mentioned by the fr.?
Meanwhile millions around the world are perishing and need to hear the gospel preached. Not that Holy Communion isn’t important but the idea that Jesus would exclude someone from heaven because they didn’t profess to the literal presence is exactly like the Pharisees missing the whole heart of the law around tithing. If we are not careful we present something as sacred to us in a way that draws a division in the body of Christ. Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added into you. I personally believe that by the Spirit there is a sense of the bread and wine becoming literal food in the spirit that we feast on (I attend an Anglican Church) but I also feel it’s ridiculous to present an internal discussion of doctrinal division within the body of Christ and project that into an already divided world. I’m sure someone will comment on how I’m not part of the body of Christ in a ‘Protestant’ Church but I don’t believe in denominations, I believe that as declared in scripture we have spiritual children, who worship in truth. If we are bound by denomination then we fail to act on the primary mission of the gospel in which the church is the help make disciples of all nations. The church serves to make disciples of all nations and therefore doesn’t exist for any purpose that is man made. Our perception that there is on church, only one right baptism is clearly false, as we know of Churches now that exist underground across the world. Are they exempt from salvation due to not receiving the Eucharist by a priest? Even the idea of priesthood is an anointing of the Holy Spirit. Jesus anointed his twelve and sent them out and still now anoints those spiritually and sends them out. We need to ignore anything that seeks to divide the body of Christ and pray against the spirit behind it. Our mission is to win souls for Christ and judging or condemning our brothers and sisters in different branches of the church is both dangerous and unhelpful in fulfilling God’s purpose for His church. By this you’ll know they’re my disciples, if you love one another (John 13 v. 35). This for me isn’t loving and does nothing more than confuse. Any time there is a spirit of confusion it’s unhelpful in growing God’s kingdom. Fine to discuss it within the body of Christ but not sure putting it on a platform for millions to see is more useful than using the gift God has blessed you with to preach the gospel and invite people to commune with Christ Jesus Our Lord. Lord I pray for unity and peace amongst all of God’s children and as the world becomes more divided, I ask Holy Spirit that you draw your true Church who worship God in truth back together to serve your purposes in making your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
Instead of clarifying it, he ramp it up. You were right, he digs really deep that people will understand the significance of his flesh. But to take that and believe in trans substantiation is another example of Catholics taking hyperbole and making it doctrine, and taking clarity, and dismissing it.
@@jeffallanday But why does Paul have to mention it? Maybe they knew already, they had the gospel with them isn't The gospel of John good enough? Forget what Paul said, if you go to John 6:60 and finish the chapter you will see that Jesus doesn't clarify himself to the disciples who were confused, Iike he does with all his parables and metaphors. father Mike is correct. Instead Jesus basically said and I'm paraphrasing; why don't u believe? You believe the son of god is coming from the clouds but you cant believe this? Paul writes letters in order to fix problems he sees. He does mention the eucharist in 1 Corinthians, and he says basically that if you take the bread for the wrong reason and don't examine yourself first you'll be sinning against the body of Christ. @@George72632 Ok in addressing the first question Paul in Romans why does he need to mention it in Romans. Romans is an important letter in that it explains salvation. It explains how we are fallen and the result of sin is death and the work of Jesus gives us salvation from death. Then in chapters 3-5 it explains how we receive justification which is right standing before God. So if the Eucharist is necessary part of salvation then it needs to be expounded upon in Romans. Romans explains what happens to us when we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. So, this is a glaring omission by Paul if the Eucharist is necessary. I need a whole separate post to address 1 Corinthians because it is used incorrectly by both Protestant and Catholic.
Just like the living water in Chapter 4 the food he talks about is believing in him. Eating his literal body and blood is not how one can live without dying. When Jesus says that He is the bread, and the bread is the flesh, this is a spiritual truth, it is not merely to mean that this is lowered down to a worldly secular literal understanding. The disciples took Jesus literally because they never heard anyone say that before. But we must focus on what Jesus means instead of how someone else thought it was in that moment. Jesus is talking about that accepting His sacrifice, the gift of salvation, is eternal life, that He is the way to eternal life, that He is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. It’s not about literally taking bread as His flesh and the wine literally as His blood. This is merely a communion, an ushering of welcome or introducing the truth to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This is a thanksgiving to God through a physical symbolic feast of bread and wine in small amount

He was referring to the Eucharist‼️ The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains: The usual Greek word for “daily,” hemera, is, after all, used elsewhere in the New Testament, but not in this instance. Why did St. Matthew and St. Luke feel compelled to create a new Greek word to accurately reflect the words of Jesus? They most likely had to use a new word to faithfully translate a novel idea or a unique Aramaic word that Jesus used in His prayer. What was Jesus’ new idea? Although there are multiple levels of meanings to epiousios, Jesus is making a clear allusion to the Eucharist. “Our daily bread” is one translation of a word that goes far above our basic needs for sustenance, and invokes our supernatural needs. St. Jerome translated the Bible in the 4th century from the original Latin, Hebrew and Greek texts to form the Latin Vulgate Bible. When it came to the mysterious word epiousios, St. Jerome hedged his bets. In Luke 11:3, St. Jerome translated epiousios as “daily.” Yet, in Matthew 6:11, he translated epiousios as “supersubstantial.” The root words are: epi, meaning “above” or “super;” and ousia, meaning “being,” “essence,” or “substance.” When they are read together, we come to the possible translations of “super-substantial,” “above-essence,” or, in effect, “supernatural” bread. This translation as supersubstantial is still found today in the Douay-Rheims Bible. Taken literally, our supersubstantial bread is the Eucharist. (CCC 2837)
Dude.... I cannot help to be a little confused how can the Bishop make such a claim... But I understand that is in line with what He believe, and I respect him for teaching accurately what The Roman Catholism teaches. Though I cannot help to say that the hermeneutics here is pretty weak.. John 6:55-56,63 [55]For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. [56]Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. ..... [63]The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you-they are full of the Spirit and life.
I don't get it mof. I'm not the only threat now. I'm not the only one who stopped the apocolypse, I've done my part, and now loads of people are doing it. It ended the moment I did my part; there was no more that threat should have got to me. Its done, the movement has happened, they're too late to stop it, it's now underway. I dont understand why Jesus doesn't just end this! They did a ritual to stop me imagining Heaven, any of us. They're too late, but because we've only ever lived somewhat connec5ed ti thr apocolypse, yknow some of this reasoning us not going to change quickly. So WHAT! I suffered so much because you didn't do anything, because God didn't do anything, because the pol8ce didn't di anything. I dint get it! What do I have to do to make them stop making me suffer?
Oh hahahaha you almond got us! Acts 10:10-13 10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, 11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. Acts 10:34-36 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. 36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) Ephesians 5:29-32 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Who are the flesh and bones of Jesus Christ? The Ones God is making clean. Remember Jesus Christ and the woman at the well. Read the conversation he had with His disciples right after. What was the food they knew not of? To do the will of the One who sent Him and finish His work. He ate the same thing Peter was about to eat in Acts 10. You know what doesn’t matter? How much someone understands this before they do it. Matthew 12:46-50 46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Who are His brothers and sisters and church? Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven… Not the one who kneels down reverently to take the communion on the tongue and believes that they are literally chewing on roast Yeshua Hamashiach. Go read about Jesus Christ at the Passover supper with His disciples. They had no clue what they were doing. They just obeyed the Lord. Oooff course Peter argued a little but hey, it shows that Jesus even makes Priests out of married men. 🗡️
The bread and cup, body and blood were given on the Cross. Do this……note! “Remembering Me…..not: Re-sacrificing Me again and again. THIS will always bd your spiritual food. THIS WILL SUSTAIN YOU! Not natural bread but spiritual manna. The sacrifice was ONCE ! Not over and over. The offering was ACCEPTED never to be offerered again. Remembered. Not Repeated He said; IT IS FINISHED. The mass is never finished. It is repeated daily. His was once and DONE!
Do you know what the words used by st. Paul for "remembering me" means? The sacrifice was made once and for all. Where is said that offering was accepted and never to be offered again? (If you know I will be glad)
THE LAMB 🐑 OF GOD: Why do you think John the Baptist called Jesus the “lamb of God” (John 1:29 & 1:36)? Jesus is the pascal lamb 🐑 to be sacrificed. The Passover tradition started when Moses and the Israelites sacrificed an unblemished lamb 🐑 . In order to have the angel of death 💀 to Passover them, THEY HAD TO EAT THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB 🐑 (Exodus 12:8).
This is why it's important to read the Bible verse-by-verse. Unfortunately, he misses a lot of important context which leads to the conclusion that the Eucharist is not literal.
I Believe Jesus was talking about eternal life through Faith and Repentance and doing God’s will, Not a material Wafer the Catholic Church promotes. The Catholic Church didn’t even exist at that time.
Whose interpretation? That belief was also of Ignatius, St. John’s disciple. How could he have gotten it so wrong being John who wrote it and taught him? That wasn’t a theological issue until the Protestant reformation
He also told the woman at the well he had living water that if she drank it she would never be thirsty. Guess what "she thought he was being literal" and asked for that water so she would not have to keep going to the well. So just because the crowd thought he was being literal does not mean he was literal.
I still don't go so far as to accept full on transubstantiation, but as a person of Baptist heritage, I think an excellent (and likely correct) case can be made for belief in the real spiritual presence.

The Holy Spirit is within Fr. Mike Schmits, I pray for him.
I agree, he has some kind of spirit, but it's not the Holy Spirit, the man is obviously perverting the scriptures, he's interpreting scripture with his human sinful intellect, he is not born again.

They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes!"
"Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church."

Yeah, his grace is sufficient. No one argues with that. Only the Lord can choose who joins him in eternal life. So yeah your faith alone might be “enough” to get saved, but why wouldn’t you strive to live a life of good works to help not only better yourself but also please our Lord.
Paul was addressing how the Corinths came to the Lord's Table...drunk and with wrong intentions. Paul clearly states this
John 6:51 it's also in the protestant Bible.

To be clear Luther’s view of the Sacrament was also not transubstantiation
When I made my first comment, I went back and read through John 6 a few times to try and sort it all out and here’s what I’ve got:
When the followers complain about him claiming to be “the bread which came down from heaven”, they don’t argue the bread part at all, but only that he came down from heaven.
This may help you on your journey brother…

Jesus also said he is the door. But we know he isn’t a literal door.
I believe in the eucharist and tye meaning behind baptism, but i cant fully get behind catholicism.
Any speculation on why Jesus let them leave and didn't call them back to clarify the teaching?
Damnit, that means i have never been saved ever since I came to christ. Gotta go and do this quick.
“I am the vine and you are the branches.” “I am the door.” Turns out Jesus said a lot of things that shouldn’t be taken literally.
He already gave it, once for all.
THE WORD OF GOD:
Protestants use scripture (the word of God) while Catholics have Jesus Christ (the Incarnate Word of God) to interpret scripture. Scripture 📖 is something that…
- Satan and deceivers use (Matthew 4:5; Galatians 1:6-8),
- that is veiled (2 Corinthians 4:3),
- that people deceive themselves into believing that it offers “eternal life” (John 5:39).
It has Jesus Christ truly present in the Eucharist that interprets scripture for us just as He did for the two disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35).
protestant received brain washing by the emotions in the Cristian music !! if you take away the music , stop the false emotion

Matthew 5
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

I guess you are unfamiliar with the Eucharist miracle
@@George72632 If there really is some kind of Eucharist miracle then why did Paul not talk about in Romans?
And so Paul's letter to the christians in Rome was more about sin, faith and salvation. You got to fix those things first.
@@jeffallanday many miracles even happened in modern times, and they even find human DNA and flesh slowly forming. So this is not hyperbole, just like when he's going to come down from the clouds is not hyperbole either.
Dont replace Jesus with idols.
Just like the living water in Chapter 4 the food he talks about is believing in him. Eating his literal body and blood is not how one can live without dying. Believing in him is how we live without dying(eternal life). Read John 11:25 and 11:26. "The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Context is KING. John 3:16. Literally the entire book of John is saying believing in him is how to get Eternal life. So please read the ENTIRE BOOK OF JOHN. This chapter 6 will make sense.
"UNLESS YOU EAT THE Flesh AND DRINK THE BLOOD OF THE SON OF MAN YOU SHALL NOT HAVE LIFE WITHIN YOU."
cannot be any more clear
We don’t produce literal fruits yet yeh Bible talks about fruits of the spirit ? The Bible has a ton of parables. Plus that many people leaving tells me it’s more than just eating Jesus. It’s also about giving up your worldly life. People don’t want to do that they can’t eat Jesus bread if life. The bread is Jesus. And Jesus is the way the truth and the life: he says I am the way the truth and the life. So eating his ways his truths and his life.
you are blind because you don t see priesthood actions in Jesus and in apostles because you believe to the BIG LIE don t exist priesthood !! when you see Jesus the only high priest does apostles priesthoods !! you can understand everything like dispepolus Emmaus opened the eyes
Actually is very much not clear. However, if you read on it becomes clear that just like the living water Jesus offers the woman at the well it is symbolic of believing in Jesus for eternal life. John is very explicit in John 20:30 and 31 that believe(faith) is what gives us eternal life not some wafer turning into literal flesh. Ephesians, Romans and Galatians all point to faith in Jesus as the way to receive life and they don't speak a word about wafers turning into flesh.
@jeffallanday wrong. Youre reading the protestant translation from the KJV. transubstantiation was the belief of the early church up until the protty reformation. Where currently your churches are strip malls and renovated Payless'
Jesus said He’s the living bread, the bread He gives is His FLESH, unless we eat His Flesh & drink His Blood, WE WILL HAVE NO LIFE IN US.If we eat & drink of Him He will raise us up on the last day. If we eat & drink of Him UNWORTHILY, WE WILL BE LIABLE & BRING A SENTENCE AGAINST OURSELVES FOR NOT DISCERNING IT TO BE THE BODY & BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST, OUR GOD & SAVIOR. Jn6:51-59, 1Cor11:23-29 Unworthily, is if you have mortal sins, if you haven’t made your First Communion or you’re not Catholic!
SUPERNATURAL BREAD 🥖:
Do you think 🤔 that when Jesus Christ taught us to pray 🙏🏽 and inserted “give us this day our daily bread 🥖”, He was referring to normal food❓ No!
John 6:55-56,63

Acts 10:10-13
10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
Acts 10:34-36
34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Ephesians 5:29-32
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Matthew 12:46-50
46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven…
Not the one who kneels down reverently to take the communion on the tongue and believes that they are literally chewing on roast Yeshua Hamashiach. Go read about Jesus Christ at the Passover supper with His disciples. They had no clue what they were doing. They just obeyed the Lord. Oooff course Peter argued a little but hey, it shows that Jesus even makes Priests out of married men. 🗡️

THE LAMB 🐑 OF GOD:
Why do you think John the Baptist called Jesus the “lamb of God” (John 1:29 & 1:36)? Jesus is the pascal lamb 🐑 to be sacrificed. The Passover tradition started when Moses and the Israelites sacrificed an unblemished lamb 🐑 . In order to have the angel of death 💀 to Passover them, THEY HAD TO EAT THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB 🐑 (Exodus 12:8).
This is why it's important to read the Bible verse-by-verse. Unfortunately, he misses a lot of important context which leads to the conclusion that the Eucharist is not literal.
😂😂😂 McDonald's on sandals ❤
I Believe Jesus was talking about eternal life through Faith and Repentance and doing God’s will, Not a material Wafer the Catholic Church promotes. The Catholic Church didn’t even exist at that time.
False interpretation of that text. False theology period. Turn away from this untruth before it’s too late.
Exactly.
I still don't go so far as to accept full on transubstantiation, but as a person of Baptist heritage, I think an excellent (and likely correct) case can be made for belief in the real spiritual presence.
What a waste of faith ! ! !
But it is true. Check out the Eucharistic Miracles
Why doesn’t he wear a priest garb instead of pants?
Priestly vestments are only worn in church. He is dressed as priests are supposed to be dressed outside of church.
