Catholic therapist here! Intrusive thoughts, especially in the context of OCD or anxiety, often latch onto what’s most important to us because those are the areas where we feel the most vulnerable or responsible. Our values and the things we care about deeply-whether relationships, morals, or personal safety- (faith is a big one for many) are the areas where unwanted doubts or fears can create the strongest emotional reactions. Ocd or intrusive thoughts in general use this sensitivity, making us question our deepest beliefs and values to try to “protect” us, even though it ends up causing distress. Essentially, it’s like our mind is attempting to keep us alert to avoid harm or wrongdoing in the things that matter most to us. Unfortunately, this backfires, as the more we react to these thoughts with fear or try to control them, the more power they gain. I always explain to clients that a thought does not make it a fact - you are not bad for having these thoughts, in fact the detest for them proves otherwise. Give it your God and ask for consolation and peace when these thoughts pop up, he knows your heart ❤
In other words don’t fight them , tune in your body and accept your anxiety so you can get out the spiral of thinking … the only thing that can cure you is god and his word people have to start reading their bibles … that’s why I should encourage Catholics to start doing so the word of god will heal you …. The only thing you can do with bad thoughts is not remove them you can only replace them ….
Dear Father, I am totally broken. I have cancer. I have so much guilt in my life. I have failed so many in my life. I pray to the Blessed Virgin Mary to help guide me home.
Lord please bless and protect our brother James. Grant him the peace and humility to embrace this cross you have given him to bear. Help him to be drawn closer to you. In your most holy name Lord we ask this of you
I went to confession once and told the priest I had these bad thoughts. He said to me everyone has bad thoughts… It’s when you take those thoughts “for a walk “ …that’s when it becomes a sin. I loved that. I’ll find myself say arguing with someone in my head and then quickly say to myself…oops don’t take it for a walk! And I’ll change my course of thought. Those words have helped me so much. Don’t take it for a walk😂
Yes I do that too. Especially if it's something financial or a family problem. I just say,' here it is, I can't cope with this so please, Lord, you take it and fix it!' I can almost imagine myself lifting the problem off my shoulders and handing it to Him. It's a relief!
Maybe see an exorcist. Yes, there are natural explanations, but I was referred to one once because what was going on was supernatural, and it really helped. Talk to your diocese
I m mentally tortured by my son’s behaviour to me especially. I don’t know why, but perhaps my spirit irritated his spirit. Is there such a thing. Becos I can’t start a simple conversation with him raising his voice to me, n nvr apologised ever! Lord I surrender this to you. You take care of it. No one can help me but You Lord
@@cynthiasammy3668, You can pray to The Lord Jesus Christ that your son may be delivered from the evil spirits that dwell in him, or You can also pronounce this yourself to the evil spirits, while invoking in The Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. All evil spirits have no choice but to obey The Lord Jesus Christ.
God's timing is UNBELIEVABLY on point, no less since such intrusive thoughts caused me distress when I was doing my night prayers and this being the first notification I see. God loves us all!!
Hang in there! I’ve had intrusive thoughts for over 20 years …. The fact that the thoughts are unwanted. Means you actually feel the opposite about it! ❤. I wish I can help everyone who struggles with it! It can feel so isolating and unfair …. But it’s a thought disorder and it’s not who you are!!!! ❤❤❤
Heads up for the scrupulous/OCD: while the prayer at the end “I don’t want these thoughts, Jesus please come help me” is a very good prayer, watch out that something like this doesn’t become a compulsion. Usually set prayers or words don’t work well for the OCD since it gets wrapped up in the obsessive compulsive cycle, and so things like labelling or learning to disregard them go a long way. Seek help and a spiritual director too. God bless!
I suffer with OCD. The Jesus prayer really helps me though it has become a “compulsion” or a weapon against intrusive thoughts. It’s meant to be repetitive. It’s one powerful ancient prayer that is repeated, it really helps with intrusive thoughts and helps bring your heart to Jesus. I recommend reading A Night in the Desert of the Holy Mountain , it’s an amazing book and will help you master the Jesus prayer bringing you closer to Jesus and also helps with OCD.

I’ve been struggling with intrusive thoughts for 13 years, specifically around blasphemous religious themes, and it reached a point where it took over my daily life. Eventually, I was diagnosed with OCD and started medication, which has helped. Intrusive thoughts can feel overwhelming and isolating, but it’s important to know you’re not alone. If you’re experiencing distress to the point that it’s hard to function, please consider seeing a doctor or therapist who can help. Thank you for creating this video and raising awareness-God bless!
Hi Andrew, there are many reasons that could cause OCD. Trauma for sure, bot sometimes can be brain injury as well, or even gut disease. I would also recommend to check out Dr. Daniel Amen and Dr. Chris Palmer. Both are amazing, and if you have time, check them both because they cover different topics. Good luck! I am pretty sure you can heal. God bless :)

@edm-london1660 Well if you haven't experienced it, it's easy to say. Imagine the One you love more than anything in the world... you have these uncontrollable thoughts about, and you pray every day, and you fight so hard to stay in His presence when your own mind betrays you. So you spiral... in fear... in despair... not even trusting yourself. Wondering, "Am I evil?" To some this is a horror they deal with on a daily basis and can't escape. This video is a Godsend because this is the reality of so many sensitive souls who love God, and hearing that you aren't alone without judgement is so wonderful. Often it's not a lack of trying, its a lack of knowing what is truly happening in spite of the greatest efforts to cling to the Lord.
So do I, @tiff1632. I have OCD, with scrupulosity being the main symptom. I get horrendously blasphemous thoughts, and I rely on God's mercy, knowing that He knows I do not want these thoughts! I think what animates these thoughts is that we hate them so much, and they frighten us. So, it's like being told not to think about ______ (fill in the blanks). It then becomes almost impossible NOT to think about that thing. We do the same thing to ourselves. Our brains are always on alert, and we unconsciously warn ourselves not to think these blasphemous thoughts. It then becomes almost impossible not to have them. I have become at peace - not with the thoughts themselves, but with the conviction that God will not hold me accountable for them. Please know there are others of us fighting the same battle as you. May that knowledge give you assurance, and I hope you arrive at some level of peace yourself! God bless you!
@@tiff1622I agree with you. My 15 year old son has been struggling with this, to the point of heavily sobbing and saying what if he doesn’t get into heaven? He says he loves God so much and that he doesn’t want to sin against him or have any blasphemous thoughts that suddenly come into his mind. I showed him this video and I could see it brought him relief.
@@gracea3128 You've just described me and I'm 76 years old. However, I do have mild OCD and anxiety plus I deal with post traumatic events from time to time. No matter your age intrusive thoughts can happen to anyone. Your son is good and God loves him. I don't think God will keep us from Heaven because we have these thoughts. He knows we don't want them and dislike them. That alone should tell your son that the Father knows his heart and he'll be just fine. Praying for him.
Thank you so much Father Mike! Ive been dealing with intrusive thoughts for a little over a year. Next April I will be getting baptized in the Catholic Church so please pray for me! 🙏🏻🤍

Thank you so much for this message. Dealing with extreme grief and loss of my baby daughter, and been having these more than ever before. My heart knows Jesus and I love God and take comfort in Him and His presence, so I’m so glad to hear this and that I can have peace even in the suffering and midst knowing I’m guarded and loved by God and in Jesus name 🙏🏽🙌🏼
I’m so very sorry for your loss. There is no other pain comparable. Hold onto your faith, God is with you. Having lost my son I like to believe our child is also with us when we need comforting. My heart and prayers to you
@ thank you for your prayers and response. I’m so sorry to hear as well, definitely beyond anything I’ve ever felt, but I know God is with us in our grief and loves us and our children, gives me great comfort knowing she’s with the lord and we will see them one day again with no more pain or suffering 🙏🏽
This happened to me last year when out of nowhere I had a horrible intrusive thought. I would try to tell Jesus that I didn’t mean it or want this but I didn’t get rid of it until I went to Confession. And I personally decided that I would face the priest while I confessed this extremely embarrassing thought. Well, thanks be to God for this truly and healing sacrament of Confession and for the wonderful priest! The ugly thought went away and if it ever tries to sneak back in, it vanishes. Thank you Jesus for your wonderful sacraments and priests who minister to us in Persona Christi🙏🏻🙏🏻
The Lord God and the Bible teach us that a person can only confess his sins to the Lord Jesus Christ. The Living Lord Jesus Christ wants to maintain a living relationship with the people. This also means that a person should talk directly in a personal and intimate conversation with The Lord Jesus Christ. So you may pray directly to your Savior Lord Jesus Christ, without the intervention of another human being. The Day of the Lord is fast approaching, the people ought to make the right choice for the Lord Jesus Christ and be obedient to Him by becoming a Born again Christian. Not Christians with a Protestant or Catholic name sticker on their foreheads, but a Born again Christian.

Hey! I’m a growing Catholic and have OCD. I have heard of religious OCD referred to as scrupulosity, but my OCD and intrusive thoughts are primarily centered around blasphemous, religious, and sexual/lustful thoughts. They are difficult but over the years, I’ve grown thanks to God. He’s got us all. I’ve been trying to learn to surrender my thoughts to Him, knowing that I should surrender everything as well. God is always there to talk! He loves us! I’m here to talk if anyone wants! May God bless, keep, heal, and strengthen you all, your families, and your friends! ❤
Hi Anthony. I sometimes have horrific intrusive words put into my mind and I absolutely hate them. They call Our Heavenly Father and Mother horrible names (and I love God and the Virgin Mary with all my heart and sole). Will God forgive me? Thank you 🙏🏻
@@maureensmullen6836 Hi! Although I'm not the person you asked, I would like to say that God is all merciful and all loving, and that these intrusive thoughts are not and never will be indicative of you as a person. God knows how much you love Him, and so does Our Blessed Mother. They know you don't have any ill intention - when intrusive thoughts pop up, you are not sinning. It's just your brain doing a weird thing, and sins typically only occur from when people act upon an unholy desire. It's like stepping on someone: if you did it by accident, you had no ill intention - you didn't sin; if you did it on purpose, you had some sort of malintention, in this case the intention of hurting someone. God knows your heart! Don't be afraid to talk to Him about it and cast your worries upon Him - the Almighty Lord has said many times to trust in Him and that He will take care of our burdens; it's really a reminder all of us need nowadays! One other thing: if these thoughts are beginning to impact your daily life and function, please please look into OCD and seek help if you think you might have it - it can definitely be distressing but, whether or not you do have it, the Lord has got you and is getting you through everything! Romans 8:32 says it amazingly: "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" God loves you. I love you as a sister in Christ. Trust in God's mercy, He wants your salvation more than you do! :)

May God and Our Lady look over you and keep you safe always. God Bless 🙏🏻 Maureen x
For someone diagnosed with severe depression, overthinking is one of the things I struggle so badly. As part of my bringing it to prayer, I ask our Lord to send me a professional to help me process my anxiety and depression, instead, He brought me to watching videos Ascension Presents videos, which is of great help. When I get an intrusive thought - I rebuke Satan and say - Satan leave my brain! And this works, but Fr Mike also reminded me to invoke Jesus to help, thank you !
Thank you Father. I really suffer with these intrusive thoughts I feel so lonely all the time. I do not have a very compassionate wife not making excuses, just reality and it's hard with today's technology that you can get on the internet and chat with women that'll give you attention the attention you're not getting at home. They'll say thank you just for a compliment makes it very difficult. I find myself always in confession. Can't stop the thoughts because when you're lonely and depressed and you just need somebody to acknowledge you the internet's right there. Please pray for me and I'll pray for everybody on here. I need help. Thank you.
It should also be mentioned that there have been saints who were documented to have struggled with intrusive thoughts. For example, St. Alphonsus Liguori is the patron saint for those that struggle with scrupulosity and is a prime example of someone who endured them.
Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.
its difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation, my relationship of 12 years ended, but i couldnt just let her go i did all i could to get her back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual counselor who helped me bring her back

Perhaps it is wise to read the PACKAGE LEAFLET. both with Jesus, the Bible, but also with medication, that piece of paper that is often thrown away. I lived as a borderline for 40 years, attempted suicide -tig times. Lost everything and everyone, because of my behavior. Until I got on my knees before God, and promised to trust in God alone. After 3 years of reading the Bible, studying the Bible and visiting Church and of course praying, I dared to say for the first time that Jesus was/is the most important person in my life. What happened then I can only call a MIRACLE. My Borderline is a thing of the past, many illnesses that I got from medication have disappeared 🎉 I still have my COPD face 4, that's all. 🤩🎉👍🙏 I carry my COPD out of love for Him who saved me. The beauty of it is that I am the one who CAN tell specialists, doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists, ambulances, etc., etc. what a wonderful Living God we have. Now I have been in a nursing home since July 25th, and I proudly tell everyone that Jesus HEALS. All these people I now meet in my life are surprised that I still do NOT need oxygen in face 4 😉🎉 I trust in My Jesus 💯 % So please read the package insert and act accordingly! God bless and I take you with me in prayer 🙏🙏🙏
You put it so brilliantly! My mind goes a million miles per km, it used to be so incredibly frustrating. After prayer and going to a doctor, we figured out why…FINALLY at the age of 53! I can concentrate on my prayers now and go to sleep within 15 minutes of lying down! Praise the Lord. 🙏💚
If youtube had a heart button I would have clicked it. I literally thought I was going crazy during covid due to intrusive thoughts. Is was literally the most lonely time of my life, and alot of healing has taken place since only by the grace of God. Thank you very very much Father for spreading this message of encouragement and truth. For those struggling with this scourge, just remember our thoughts are not us, and remember to trust in the Lord.
I have a Master's Degree in Psychology. I talked about this topic. It was a tick-tock video for the purpose education. Especially in terms of pure description what causes it. I might have to pick up my tick-tock posts again. I like your take on this topic, Father Mike. It was kind of a nice surprise to pick up my phone and hear what a theology person thinks on my educational background. I had to go to the hospital unexpectedly. I received three cancer treatments while I was in the hospital. I'm good for now, so cool! God's Grace is the movement of the soul. ❤❤❤
Father Michael, I have been struggling with this problem for several years. Never violent , but thoughts I know aren’t right or my own, Too scared to ever tell anyone about this. Like a miracle, you talked about this subject. I was so scared God will punish me. Thank you for giving me tools to help stop these thoughts.
Thank you for your ministry 🙏🏻 I have struggled with intrusive thoughts since I was a child. Submitting them to God is the only thing that has helped me cope and function.
Thank you Father, I was just struggling with this issue last night as I was trying to fall asleep. I think this video came at the perfect time. Thank you Jesus, for being the light of my life and Saviour, and for placing messengers like Father Mike in our paths. Blessings to all 🤍 we’re all in this together
Even petting our dog or cat can be like a meditation, calming and distracting our mind from negative thoughts. It's important to love yourself... when you do so, your thought patterns will change over time. I like the phrase "becoming a better version of yourself" Each day we are given the opportunity to do just that.

Please pray for me; my kitten just got hit by a car two days ago and killed and I'm grieving her badly, shed only turned one last week and she was such a comfort to me. I got her after our puppy died so wev lost two young pets just this year. I'm asking God to help my heart but feel broken. I'm ashamed to tell some people cause they respond with it's just a cat and I do realize she's not a human being but I still loved her dearly.

Great talk, just what I needed. I get distracted in church by families with little children who are super active. Sometimes I don't think very kindly toward them. I'll have to ask the Lord to keep me focused on my prayers instead of what is going on around me. God Bless and be with you. Claire.
I know that little children can be distracting. But I think about what my priest said, "A church without children is dying." That helps me appreciate them.

Thank you, Padre. Several years ago, I went to confession and was speaking with the priest who told me that he would be unable to perform my reconciliation, basically concupiscence based on childhood trauma, unless I assured him that I will forgive and not think about it ever again. Yes, in those words; never think about it again. I walked out of there even more traumatized by this victim blaming/shaming. Had I not understood as a mental health worker, how the human experience works, I likely never would've been back to a Catholic church, period. Thank you for putting this out there, this truly helps to heal that part of my inner child that has struggled with intrusive thoughts since childhood, and heal the part of my adult protector that this priest broke.
I found a priest that I am comfortable with and it has made all the difference in the world. Prayers for your intentions and all who are in need of prayer both now and in the future ❤
I am 77. I have had intrusive thoughts my whole life. If I heard that in Confession, I probably would have committed suicide. So sorry for you. I can get better over time.
@donaldshelton1720, Do we learn nothing from the Bible NKJV ??? Can we not read in the Bible that it is forbidden to worship the Angels? How many times has a man tried to worship an Angel of God? and how many times has this been stopped by The Angel of God from a man from worshiping The Angel?! Father Mike, bless you for this video! I have intrusive thoughts often, and I immediately (in my head or quietly to myself) say, "Go away Satan. Jesus, Lord, forgive me for these thoughts. Help me to rid my mind of these unwanted thoughts or thinking." ❤️
Father Mike, I am filling my mind with your Bible in a Year study program. I am now disabled after a lifetime of manual labor and am dedicating myself to mental work which brings me closer to God and my family. I could have kept my mind in a lonely and self doubting place. Instead, thanks to BIY and God’s Grace, I can be the loving mom and wife I know God created me to be. Thank you for your devotion to bringing Gods love to our hearts.
Thank you so much Father. 🙏 The worst aspect of having recurring intrusive thoughts is when you don't know that it's something others suffer from too, when it first happens to you and you believe you are the only one, and that you must truly be an awful evil being....😢 I dunno, but I think intrusive thoughts come from our hiding our true feelings constantly. I've realized they come back with a vengeance when I've been trying my hardest to be nice to everyone and I really just feel like hiding in my room that day...
Thank you so much, I found this to be an amazing gift. A4 year disability and my husbands cancer has left me very much home bound. I have PTSD from a bad accident with too much time to do nothing but think.
During this election time i did have a lot of intrusive thoughts Father Mike i am not gonna lie. But i kept myself praying and praying, and of course going to confession as well ✝️🛐❤️😊

In my case, intrusive thoughts became more frequent when I was not fully aligned with my faith. I found myself repeatedly falling into the same patterns of sin.

Jesus Mary and Joseph are with you always ❤ Do not give up.

I like that phrase! I’m going to use that. ❤
Yes, love that, it’s a great way to think 🙏
I'm using this!!

I think I needed to hear this today, thanks❤
When I have intrusive thoughts, I've learned to say 'please take this Lord - I'm giving it to you." It is a huge help to me.
Yes I do that too. Especially if it's something financial or a family problem. I just say,' here it is, I can't cope with this so please, Lord, you take it and fix it!' I can almost imagine myself lifting the problem off my shoulders and handing it to Him. It's a relief!
Thank you
I love this, I will copy you. God bless you
Just say a “Glory be to the Father” and the devil will not bother you, as he knows you will praise God if he does.
This is so good. I’m writing this down.

Maybe see an exorcist. Yes, there are natural explanations, but I was referred to one once because what was going on was supernatural, and it really helped. Talk to your diocese

God bless!
Yes pls see my post - I’m not sure how to get someone to see it but I’d be happy to help
You are correct - that can become an accommodation for those with OCD 👍🏼

Hello Andrew, I recommend you reading about the discerning of spirits by Saint Ingatius of Loyola :0) it has helped me a lot with the thoughts too.

Father. I was JUST praying about this for the past few days and felt so lonely and tired. Thank you for saying yes to God.
Me too! Very strange! But I suppose it isn't...
I love God so much and I'm always thinking about Him, so I get these horrible blasphemous thoughts and its so frustrating and discouraging. Thank you.
Wondering, "Am I evil?"
To some this is a horror they deal with on a daily basis and can't escape.
May that knowledge give you assurance, and
I hope you arrive at some level of peace yourself!

Romans 8:32 says it amazingly: "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?"
God loves you. I love you as a sister in Christ. Trust in God's mercy, He wants your salvation more than you do! :)

Thank you, Padre. Several years ago, I went to confession and was speaking with the priest who told me that he would be unable to perform my reconciliation, basically concupiscence based on childhood trauma, unless I assured him that I will forgive and not think about it ever again. I dunno, but I think intrusive thoughts come from our hiding our true feelings constantly. I've realized they come back with a vengeance when I've been trying my hardest to be nice to everyone and I really just feel like hiding in my room that day...
God is Good. Thank you Padre; this has been a recurring theme in my confessions and when talking to my therapist. Great timing.
But i kept myself praying and praying, and of course going to confession as well ✝️🛐❤️😊
thanks be to god, heal my mind oh my lord.give me grace
Thank you Father Mike for praying fervently.
Holy Spirit, I ask you to guard my thoughts mostly of disappointment in the things happening in my life and the world. Guard my family to work out their problems by turning to you. Thank you Father Mike.
Thank you, Fr. Mike. This is very helpful. I think it’s important to reject the devil and tell him to flee in the name of Jesus. I sometimes repeat baptismal promises also.
“They happen To us.” This alone brings me relief. Thank you, Father! May God bless you! 🙏🏼
4:20 I literally lol'd on this. 🤣 yeah, minimize social media consumption as our brains are like computers: Garbage in, garbage out.
I went to confession today and told the priest about my intrusive thoughts and he said that the devil try’s to destroy you with bad thoughts 💭. And to always follow the commandments , that we are always in control . I’ve struggled with this for a long time , I’m glad I went to confession and ima go to a therapist as well to help me as well . I believe Jesus blesses us with therapy to help us out on this earth 🌎. Thank you Jesus
This is very helpful for me as I struggle with suicidal ideation due to past trauma.
I'm very sorry for your suffering. If it means anything, I will pray for you in my Rosary. Please take it easy on yourself!
You belong in this world. God chose you to be here. He loves you completely. You have a purpose and the world needs you. God bless you. I will pray for you. ❤❤❤
Try adoration for about 15 minutes in a small chapel or church. If possible, let your mind go blank and then feel the true presence of Jesus envelope you. Don't fight it, allow Him to come to you. He LOVES you. I will pray for you. You can pray for me.
Life has so many good things waiting for you that you can't imagine yet. I will pray for you and am sending you big hugs ❤
@JohnHenrysaysHi
Hi JH. I know your rosary is full of people whom you are praying for. Thanks for being such a prayer warrior. God bless you
edit: *Rosary
Thank you. I came upon this in passing, struggling with this in the moment. It seems God offered me an answer!
Thank you Fr.Mike, It's true, the devil doesn't like the name Jesus. He actually runs away from it 🔥Even if I have a headache or something, I say, get rid of satan in Jesus name. And then I start naming my blessings, within minutes the pain is gone 🤩 The first blessing I will mention is “Blessed am I, because You, Jesus, have come to live in my heart.” I can really recommend it to everyone, only…Please don't be proud, because it is Jesus who is doing the work here, thank Him, not yourself.Tell everyone that Jesus is alive 🎉🎉Thank you Fr. Mike, Money sometimes comes from unexpected places, of course I pray for you and your works 👍🙏🙏🙏 Greetings Angelique Harmsen from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Oh... have you met "the devil," then (if you "believe" in him)?
when I listen to you, I feel very grounded, interested, and then I notice you have a very bright, clear warm energy, the exact same energy, that I experience after rosary prayer. This is very interesting. I am very grateful for the videos you make. God bless you
These unwanted thoughts remind me of how our sins leave their mark on us and how purgatory is necessary for many of us so that we can be perfectly united with God in heaven.
God literally had this video pop up as recommended to me so I could watch this. I needed this so badly. Thank you lord for guiding me to this video and thank you father for the good wisdom!! Amen 🙏🏻
God bless you Father Mike, much love from Australia ❤️🇦🇺
Amen.
Proverbs 4
20. My son, hearken (To listen attentively) to my words, and incline (dispose, bow down, humility) thy ear to my sayings. (Accept them as the truth from my Master)
21. Let them not depart from thy eyes, (read them slowly) keep them in the midst of thy heart: (Ponder them)
22. For they are life to those that find them, and health to all flesh.
23. With all watchfulness keep thy heart, (pure) because life issueth out from it.
Words in brackets are mine.
One of Fr Mike’s best videos!
Thankyou Almighty God Jesus God heavenly Father and God Holy spirit and also to Ascersion Team 🙏🙏
Thank you for this video, Fr Mike & Ascension Team! It seems like you release your videos based on when I need them most. Praying for you guys!
In my case, intrusive thoughts became more frequent when I was not fully aligned with my faith. I found myself repeatedly falling into the same patterns of sin. Medication was necessary to break the cycle and overcome this struggle. I do not take medications anymore, and I can say that those intrusive thoughts have significantly diminished. I am grateful to Almighty God
Bro, how’d you know I needed to hear this??? 😩
I agree 1000% with you. God's timing is *on point* , especially since I suffered from it just now
@derargent4692 It's a continuous cycle for me :P It feels like my brain runs way too fast sometimes
Matthew 28:18, the name of Jesus has all the power you need. Psalm 51 is the specific prayer to cleanse your heart. Grace be with you.
Incredibly timely and helpful, thank you so much for all the positive messaging you share with the rest of us ❤
Hope these are helpful-
"Occupy your mind with good thoughts, or the enemy will fill them with bad ones."
- St. Thomas Moore.
"The things we love tell us what we are."

Luke 6:43-44 “A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit.
For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thornbushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles.
Romans 12:2 Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
Praying for you all. Please pray for me. Hope you all have a light-filled peaceful joyful blessed week!
@JohnHenrysaysHi, If you personally believe that The Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins on the Cross on Calvary and rose from the dead on the third day, then you can and may also address the evil spirits themselves to leave your life forever - speak this 'in The Mighty Name of Jesus Christ!'
-Acc. The Lord Jesus Christ.
Ok, so it’s not just me. I needed this. Brought so much more clarity. Praise be to God!
oh boy this is for me...thank you Father Schmitz...🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
this is right on time for me I've been dealing with intrusive thought, we all have struggles learning to take thoughts captive and making them obedient to Christ. Sometimes what we resist persists and they are only thoughts just thoughts.
Thank you Fr. Mike, this has been a long-term problem of mine. Thank you for your words
Dearest Fr Mike. I am a 62 Yr old female, troubled by intrusive thoughts. I had got around to believing I must be intrinsically evil, for such thoughts to foment within me. You have just explained and given me hope and instruction on how to understand and combat this state that we sometimes endure. Thank you, a million thanks to you. For addressing this, and speaking about it. With hope and perseverence I can stand straight and now trust in Jesus to help me. "JESUS UNDER YOUR PROTECTION." God Bless You Father.🙏😇💫☀️🪐🌌🌠🎑🌟⭐️🌞🌅🌄🏴
These videos are always so useful to reflect with.
I'm having a problem with lust and impure thoughts if I have to listen to this video everyday to help myself I will and I need your prayers and blessings to continue this fight I thank you Father Mike and please continue to pray for me 🙏
This really hit home - some days there are SO many intrusive thoughts.... stress, lack of sleep :(
Please find a therapist who treats OCD with Exposure and Ritual Prevention. There is help you are not alone! ❤
@emotionalsupportpaintbrush ??? Its not OCD
@@barbaradelpino4020 intrusive thoughts can be a type of OCD. Do a quick search for “Pure O OCD” 😉 Not everyone with intrusive thoughts has OCD, but for some people the “compulsion” which we normally think of as counting or checking is an internal mental compulsion. It’s a real thing.
I’m struggling with this now and have prayed over it and will continue to pray.
❤ Thank you, Fr. Mike. This was so helpful. At least I know I'm not alone. God bless you! 🙏❤
Oh my stars! Mean, hateful and just horrible thoughts can pop in my head and I try to grapple with them. Now, after seeing this video, I know what to do. I’ve always handed my worries over to God, but for some reason I felt that *I* was the one that had to get rid of these thoughts. Thanks Fr. Mike, you’ve been a source of wisdom for me for many years ✨👍✨
Thank you so much Father Mike
Thank you Father Mike for your love and work. I am starting the Bible in a year for the second time. I have completed the Bible and
Thank you Father Mike, that is very comforting and helpful advice!❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Fr. Mike, for making this video! As someone who struggles with intrusive thoughts, to have a spiritual leader even address this topic, as a person of faith, is so wonderfully helpful! ☺️
