I've been averaging 31-32 mpg in my 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition over the last 19 months of casual suburban around-town driving & errand running twice per week here in southern Arizona (almost all at local town speeds of 50 mph or less). No open-highway mile trips or work commutes. I drive about 1700 miles per 6 months & sitting at about 5000 total miles on odometer currently. There is no cylinder-deactivation tech on the 2022 CX-30, unlike the 2023.
I have a '21 cx30 premium awd n/a engine.....since purchase in may 21, vehicle calculated avg is 32.5...(never have reset it) i regularly get 30-36 mpg per tank....i do not beat on it but do drive normally, my interstate/hwy speeds are usually 70mph where i can easily get 34-35 mpg (hand calculated) I live in a moderately hilly area in the northeast so interstates are def not flat. I am pleased overall with the vehicle and its mileage. Pure city tanks avg 27-28 mpg for me.
Thanks for the video. The mpg always looks great when youre soimg 100% highway driving. It would be appreciated if you did a real world mpg test with 50/50 city and highway driving to see what the combined mpg is. Thank you.
These are great cars i had my 2021 mazda cx-30 for 2 years and still enjoy driving it you won't get bored of it. It's sad to see these kind of cars are going away everything is getting replaced with complex turbo/hybrid engines and cvt's. There is nothing better then a naturally aspirated engine and a 6 speed auto in terms of long term reliability.
@@braetonwilson4296 That is false lol i actually find it too light lol. This has electric power steering so it's lighter then any hydraulic power steering of older cars. If you have an older car with hydraulic power steering you will have no issues with the electric steering in mazda.
Great video and test! Would really appreciate it if you can compare it to other similar cars you have tested at the end, maybe make a ranking or something like that :)
I love the CX30, the only thing that worries me is the cylinder deactivation feature that it has on it. I feel like that will affect the engine reliability down the road.
Cx 30 2021 owner here. I get 28-29 mpg combined consistently. I've gone several long road trips and on the highways I get 34-35 mpg. You can keep your hybrid and electric garbage.
How are the driver assistance features on the highway? Does the LKA actually keep you centered and steer around curves, or does it only intervene when you cross a line?
That's impressive. The people I know who had a CX-30 and then had kids quickly swapped it out for something larger. But you're right, anyone can adapt.
Sometimes during the time lapse I like to pretend I'm a super hero running/flying down the freeway (with good road manners)

Finally, too many reviews on the turbo model. I was looking for the NA version. Thanks.
Great! Yeah, Mazda PR unfortunately puts mostly turbo, upspec models in the review fleets.

i heard the steering feel is too heavy, that it's difficult to turn the wheel, is that true?

@@paranromallover4543 i agree… so smooth, so funny to drive 😊

Great to see the CX-30 2.5 NA does great in real world driving. My biggest gripes are the infotainment situation and rear visibility.
Love the infotainment. Pray they never get rid of the dial

Agreed. Maybe you can disable it
I think 'start stop" technology is harder on an engine the cylinder deactivation.
I also get 33 highway mpg in my Turbo, but 26 in mixed driving.

You do realize that hybrids can get double that lol. My brother is a slow driver and gets like 69 mpg on his prius lol
Charlie, When did you start giving the mpg result in the video notes? 🤔
Depends on how noteworthy it is! And how generous I'm feeling.
@@DailyMotor I watched the WHOLE video anyway .

I don't know why some reviewers say these cars are for people without kids. I have two kiddos and it's their favorite car.

Bruh that thing gets better mpg at 70mph than my 2006 honda civic at 55mph which it was built for fuel economy
6-8 month wait in Canada.
Question to Mazda owners here. What fuel rating do you use, and whats the difference ine MPG and performance?
Thanks in advance
I'm getting 30mpg 40% city 60% hwy
I read that as 30mpgs at first and was like yah right 😂
Какой октан у бензина? Если низкий, то расход будет выше.
This gets 27mpg with mixed city and highway driving definitely not 30mpg at all times
Is this the Hybrid?
No, unfortunately we don't get that here
Passing a school bus on the right...just when you think humans can't get any dumber...
Bus should have taken the slower lane.. fyi
Go learn the rules
Hmmmm will any student get out of the school bus on the highway cruising at 70 mph? I don't think so...
Hmm He wasn't passing the school bus, he changed lanes to exit the freeway. I think you are the dumb one?
