    If you don't need the space of the larger models, this is my favorite model on the Mazda lot. Every other competitor has caveats like cheap interiors, little power, shit availability, or some combination of the 3. With the CX-30, it rides nice, has a class leading interior, good power, decent fuel economy, and the right amount of features.

      If only the visibility was better

    • @PhillyFan20
      @PhillyFan20 Рік тому +3

      Yeah, I don't like the visibility in the CX-30. It's nice, but I prefer the Mazda 3 sedan. I like Mazda's current design language, but one of my biggest complaints is how small the windows are. They seem smaller on the CX-30.

    • @khelgarironfist3301
      @khelgarironfist3301 Рік тому +3

      @@PhillyFan20 it probably feels smaller on the CX 30 than the 3 because the door panels of the former is tall and the windows start really from an upper position. Sedan 3 seems to have the least cramped windows from the looks of it. After being in airy cars, not sure i could live with it. But sunroof could help a bit with the claustrophobia at least.

      I like it for what it is, not what people want it to be. What is it? Small hatchback with a lifted suspension,AWD and available engine with way more torque than the average CX-30 driver will ever need. That's truly it. Lower the suspension and rip off the plastic cladding and you have a Mazda 3 hatch with a slightly different body style. It has the S&V thing down, it's sporty and a vehicle, but there isn't much U. (utility)

    Bought the CX-30 for my 5ft mother and she absolutely loves it. The CX-5 or CX-50 is comically big for her. Some people do like how small the CX-30 is!

    I've had my 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition for 19 months thus far. No problems, issues or complaints to report, other than I had to black-out additional portions of the vehicle to make that thick body cladding look palatable to me & properly integrated into the vehicle design. This is my first Mazda & I've come to believe that they build better ICE vehicles than either Toyota or Honda these days.

    Good vid! As a soul red/white parchment cx30 owner i can tell you, yes, the interior feels much bigger in white than black...yes, the back seat leg room is stingy but i never use the back seat so not an issue for me. As for the admittedly too small gas tank, i still get about 320 miles hwy with that tank and usually i like to get out and stretch every 250 miles or so on road trips so i just stop at a gas station. As i never use the back seat for people, i removed the headrests so no issues folding them flat with the front seats all the way back. I prefer small cars (perhaps from living in europe) and this fits the bill for me. I looked at the Taos and cx5 but both are too big for me

  • @glurp1er
    @glurp1er Рік тому +4

    Americans: the CX-30 is too small
    Europeans: the CX-30 is such a big car, you'll have to pay a tax for that, and another tax because a 2 liters engine is obviously way too much.
    At least we have the option for a manual transmission, and a battery to make the car a "mild hybrid", which is nice.

  • @NoBucks777

    I am buying a used 2023 CX-30 AWD Turbo. You don't need a turbo. You want a turbo.
    My wife and I are both short so the size issue is not an issue.
    I talked to a guy getting his daughter's CX-30 washed. He said the brakes are soft. It isn't that it brakes slow, but ther is a bit more travel compared to a sporty car that engages the bakes almost immediately.

  • @Daniel_Maxin

    I tested this and I actually don't think the back seats are that bad. But it depends on how far back the front seat are pushed. So if the front people are not big and don't need to slide the front seat back too much then the back seats have OK room. Child seats are another story though but for that there is CX-5

    Love my 2021, fun to drive and is awesome in the Michigan winters. Do not believe carbon edition is worth it. New my 2021 was $26,000 for Preferred with added wireless charging, Bose system, and convenience 3 package which give you a lot of the Premium package up grades. And I agree you do not need the turbo.

    While the NA is just enough for the CX5, it is perfect for the CX30. You get better reliability, better mpgs for the average city communter, and it sounds pretty good when reved and kind of a throwback powertrain. If only Mazda went perfomance hybrid vs creating a turbo engine.

    The cx3 was a tiny little car that you could pack a lot into. Ex: 1 week worth of camping equipment and supplies including luggage, toiletries, and provisions. For ppl who want a small car and storage capability it’s a great car. Also feels less confused than the cx30.

    Excellent review. I've been on the fence re: the 2023 CE and the ONLY reason I"m on the fence is lack of Bose. Is it worth the additional cost in fuel (I'm in WA state - most expensive gas in the USA) and get the Turbo for the Bose or are there plans in 2024 to add the Bose to non Turbo CX-30? Inquiring minds want to know.

    • @EazybakeEvan

      in canada, you can spec the Turbo to get the red leather interior. i got mine in Black Exterior/Red Leather Interior. i say this in all the CX-30 vids, Mazda blessed us with a mini Japanese Porsche Macan lite.

    Why do people unnecessarily push the front seats all the way back? Doesn't it feel/get uncomfortable. Also genuinely cant tell if the space in the back is small or the range of motion for the front seats is more.

      The 2024 models might get some updates. The 2024 Mazda 3s were announced in June and the turbo models will get a 10.25" inch screen. They'll also get wireless ACP and Android Auto. I imagine the 2024 CX-30s will get the same treatment once they're announced.

    I own a 2021 Mazda cx-30 premium. The ONLY thing i like about this car is the Bose sound system. Everything else sucks. Low mileage range compared to other similar cars. Too much plastic. This car scratches SO EASILY!!!! I am shocked Mazda has not been sued for this. Mazdas look great but they are cheap for a reason. The materials they use are ridiculously cheap and scratch easier than a lottery scratch off ticket. And the entertainment screen is fking garbage as well. I regret ever getting this car and everyone should avoid Mazda all together
