After 10 years of not being able to see well, and then surgery I found I couldn't remember alot of my favorite pastime... You my dear friend opened my whole world again...At 73 with ear phones on, I have made 3 of your sweaters 3 hats, one with a hoodie...thank you...
These ribbed hats are well liked because they stretch, therefore they fit better and allow for the growing baby for much longer. Absolutely gorgeous.Thank you.
I appreciate your video very much. As a left-handed crocheter, it allowed to pause & review so that I could finally "get" the front post, back post stitch. You showed the stitch several times slowly enough that it made it understandable, even to me. My little hat looks terrific, thanks to you, Yolanda!
Thank you. I made a hat for my granddaughter's 2006 Baby Alive 18 inch doll using the G hook and it came out perfect. Her head is big and measures 15.5 inches around back neck around ears to front forehead and the diameter of hat is 7 inches and the height from crown to edge is 5 1/4 inches, total rows was 14 which includes 2 rows of single crochet.
I have made dozens of these for a charity our church supports.they are so easy to do and will be so warm for the recipients. I used different size hooks for different size hats , I also made flowers to decorate them. Your instructions are so clear thank you
I made this hat, actually 2 now, they came out so cute, ty Yolanda for the tutorial, it was very easy to follow and fun to make. it took my 45 mins per hat. its a perfect size for adults.
Thank you for the tutorials. You have taught me how to crochet so many things from beanies, to scarfs, to shawls, booties and many other things. You are a great teacher and I can't thank you enough. I look forward to future tutorials.
I have made three of your hats already! Fantastic instructions. Before I found your tutorials, I could only crochet blankets. I was afraid to change color, let alone do a rib stitch. I can't wait to try my next hat. I am trying them all. Then, on to the booties. I am not afraid any more to try different projects thanks to you. What better way for me to spend a cold, snowy winter; stuck in the house after a surgery since January. What a wonderful way to heal and relax. Thanks Yolanda!
Out of all the videos I've looked through to try and learn a pattern for a beanie and this was the best one..you explain very nicely and go nice and slow and don't use all those terms they use that gets me confused..you are a really good teacher! I really appreciate that you took the time to make this video..thank you!
Hello I am a beginner , love to do Beanies !! Your tutorial is a gift !! Thank You !! I only know how to follow videos like yours !! Much appreciated ! I want to try to do 2 colors ...lets see
I just finished my hat last night. When I started the ribbing part of this hat I did about 4 rounds and realized that this hat was going to be too small, so, I unraveled those 4 rounds and added another round to the base, which brought me up to a total of 62 stitches. Then I started the ribbing rolls and the hat turned out perfect. This hat is so pretty, and so thick, and so soft. Thank you for sharing this video. I will definitely be making more hats using this video. Just remember that you need to adjust this hat to fit your head. The way it is made in this video will fit a child, not an adult woman unless she has a very small head.
What a patient woman you are!! you are such a good instructor, thank you for such good instructions Yolanda,,I'm off to make this hat for me and my family!!
I just wanted to echo what Rachel Gaede had to say! Yours in the very first you tube video teaching the rib stitch and a beanie that I could actually understand and create! You give the very best instructions! Thank you!
Love the pattern! Very simple to make. I have made it several times. Every time I make this pattern regardless of hook size, it comes out to fit a child not an adult.
So glad I found your video, I've made 60 chemo caps using a basic pattern. I'm excited to be able to make a hat that will keep a head warm but also look fancy. My crochet ability is very basic so your suggestion for different hooks for different sizes and the rest stays the same allows me to make varied sizes and still look like a special hat. My goal for 2013 is to donate 100 caps and, for sure, this rib hat will be a wonderful addition to the collection! Thank you very much for sharing.
I'm so glad I found this pattern today. I love to make hats for charity and this will be my go to pattern. Thank you so much. I hope you're doing well as can be.
Yolanda you are an excellent teacher & explain everything so very well. I'm self taught through utube 2 1/2 yrs ago on crocheting & haven't mastered reading patterns yet. I have learned so much from your tutorials. I made this beanie yesterday for the first time & loved it. I kept trying it on to make sure it would fit as it does look small when making it. Success.............. it fits perfectly. Now I started another one this aft & using Bernat Baby Tiny Yarn. Thanks a bunch for all your hard work & fabulous tutorials. Happy hooking & looking forward to more of your tutorials.
I have to tell you, I changed the weight of the yarn and used a larger hook. My hat came out beautiful. It is so simply to make I truly love it and will be making more. Thank you
Thank you so very much for the video tutorial I'm a beginner and after pulling my beanie out once or twice l got it right. l am making beanies for my grandchildren 3 under 3 years and l found yours and was rapt!
Thank you for showing me how to ribbed, now I can go and make some ribbed beanies. I watch all your videos on you tube and have learned so much from you. Thank you so much, your a great teacher :) Merryn from Australia
your the best, it took a while to get the ribbed stitch but once it clicked there was no stopping me, thank you for your clear instructions and for taking time to do this video :)
I love the hat, you are a very good teacher, I loved to crochet since last week this is my 8th one , it was hard at the first 2 rows tha it was as easy as you said it would be. Thank you so much
Hello Yolanda, I love this pattern. It was so easy. I made one for my 2 year old grand daughter and loves it . This is the first beanie I have made .Thanks so much for sharing.
Love this pattern... it is super simple and so fast- all children and friends have these now!! ;) It would somehow help to know the crown size for safety- the average adult crown being about 7and a half inches in diameter... Love how you make it so so so simple....
OMG!! I have been trying for over 10 years to make a hat...I have tried in the past, and they have come out horrible, lol...your video was sooo simple, I can't believe it!! THank you sooo much. you were clear, concise, I loved how you made me look back and count, cuz I totally had messed up, lol...I made a trial for my boys, and they were soo excited...so now I have to make another..and the renewed addiction has begun :-)
Thank you so much for this video! I am a beginning crochet-er, and I made this pattern for a baby that is due to be born Friday or Saturday! He's going to be bautiful and warm all winter long (or until his head gets too big). In stead of continuing the ribs all the way down, I ended the beanie with a fan fringe, and it works great with the ribbing. Thank you!
Hi Yolanda this ribbed beanie is just gorgeous. Thanks for the video which is so easy to follow. Your instructions are clear and that beautiful yellow took my breath away. Thank you very much.
merci yolanda pour tout les tuto j ai beaucoup de travail car je fait tout les modeles que tu nous offre si gentiment suis une nouvel abonne merci merci
I was able to write your instructions. Got the beanie done in a couple days. So many compliments. I don't know how to knit and this came out beautifully in Red Heart ombre
thanks so much for a wonderful video & clear instruction. I started looking at your video last night and followed the instruction. Today I finished my first product ;) I plan to prepare this hat for my coming baby !
Hi Yolanda thank you so much for your videos I have learn alot . I the way you go step by step with your instructions. keep up the good work. God Blrds
OMG Yolanda thank you so much for this video. I am an experienced crocheter but my ribbing always turned out looking odd so quit trying to figure it out as written patterns are at times hard to follow.. I use the front post a lot on items I make and I now know by watching you do the ribbing how to do it correctly. Bless you. :)
Made my first ribbed beanie thanks to your help!! Very easy and turned out pretty! Wish I could attach a pic. Thank you for sharing your talent!! I have you as a favorite!! BTW I have been crocheting since I was 13 taught by my 7th grade teacher I am now 51. I never knew how to make the ribbed. Your video helped tremendously!!
Thanks Yolanda was fun to watch i have been crocheting ribbing but i start ribbing in the second raw especially thin yarn to make top thick too. l love the stitch especially on scarfs. thanks for the video
Yolanda! You are an amazing teacher! Thank you so much. I've started 7 beanies from different tutorials and they were just awful. Yolanda thank you so much for putting all of these tutorials out here. I really enjoy crocheting my great grandmother and my grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was really young. I tried one of your other patterns for a ribbed beanie but for some reason it didn't come out right. It was probably due to that project being the first time I had ever done the rib stitch. I'm going to try this one now.
I love this pattern. I made one posted to my FB page and mentioned your tutorial. I took the liberty of adding ear flaps to it and a pompom. I'm going to need it this weekend on an old cold draft bus (job). Thank you for the clear tutorial. I also posted it on a crochet FB group I'm in with mention of your tutorial. Getting good comments on the pattern. Thank you for the very clear video.
I made this last night. It's the first hat I've made and only my second crochet project and it's beautiful. You're a fantastic teacher. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow, You've got me hooked! I've already watched 3 more of your tutorials and can hardly wait to start the next project.

I've crochet two hats using this ribbed pattern and they are beautiful. It is a fast pattern to crochet. Thank you, Yolanda for a great video.
