When he talks about autumn moving in, he’s talking about the autumn of one’s life….this song is retrospective… As always, I love the respect you show the artist A+
You were cheated out of the actual end of that song. If you go back and listen make sure to find a version that plays the whole song to the definitive end.
The first half is youth and discovering your NIGHT moves. The 2nd half is as an older man (...started hummin' a song from 1962) looking back and seeing how the night MOVES (...with autumn closing in). A reference to aging and moving further away from those innocent times.
You start with a song and unlike SO MANY you actually listen . I mean you LISTEN. And from that it's clear that you appreciate what you're hearing. Don't ever stop
I was at Bob Seger's last concert in Philadelphia a few years ago. The audience was full of people of all ages, including white haired ones, like mine, like his. He sat on a chair some of the time and he still rocked. Some of his teenage angst songs sounded all the more poignant. He is the best. Thanks for playing him.
The voice of a generation.... thankfully, my generation. And I love that you listened to this song without interrupting. That is showing respect to a man who has earned it.
Bob Seger was one of my favorites way back in the mid seventies. We had so many great songs from so many great bands. Concerts were cheap and we had so much fun.
This is a great selection, love Bob Seger. He had so many great hits in the 70's; "Ramblin' Gamblin Man", "Travelin Man/Beautiful Loser", "Old Time Rock n Roll", etc....! Definitely worth checking out.
I was about 12 when it came out. the moment i heard it i loved it. next trip to tower records with enough paper route money i bought the album. i just wore it out. looking back i'm kind of surprised i loved it so much at such a young age. but love it i did.
I have heard this song for many, many years, and as I got older the last verse sounds like an older person looking back on his youth, "with autumn closing in", maybe not old but he can see it's not too far away and his "summer" of life is ending. As I've aged that part hits harder every year.
Bob Seger. WOW. What a fantastic ultra talented singer/song writer. In my humble opinion, one of the top10 in the last 100 years in America. LOVE ME SOME SEGER ! Great camping music.
Bob Seger is one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters. Saw him live back in 1996, it ended up being a nearly 3 hour long sing along fest where he encored multiple times as the crowd chanted Bob! Bob! Bob! in between songs....what a magical night that was to sing along to all these classic songs I grew up too.
Warning don't watch the video while listening to Night Moves, it's better to just to listen and let your mind take you to wherever. Great memories from your youth years should appear.
Love your review. I also appreciate how you respectfully listen to whatever song you are reviewing without always breaking in with comments, shows you are really vibing with the lyrics and music. That's why I AM subscribed.
Check out Bob and Jason Aldean singing together. He's as good today as he was all those years ago. Listened to him on the radio, had his albums, and 8 track tape in the car lol.
The song is actually released in 1976. This video was made for his greatest hits album. I hate the fade out on the video because the actual ending is one of the best moments in the song. Check out other UA-cam clips of this song that aren't this video, it's worth it.
Absolute classic. First of his hits that most of us were exposed to and prompted us to dive further into his music. The entire Night Moves album (This is the title track) is nothing but hits. Try Main Street, Sunspot Baby and Katmandu for more of Uncle Bob. I have seen him live 6 times and he never fails to put on a great performance. Even saw him on his farewell tour a few years ago. He's older now with a lot more Grey, but then again so am I 😊
I was 10 years old and this was my first concert. My Dad knew a security guard who worked the venue and he gave us VIP ribbons and I was front row center and the whole concert rocked. I saw him again 2 years later and it was just as amazing. Try Old time rock and roll. Great reaction just subbed. Peace out ✌️ ☮️
Bob Seger... Main Street, Turn The Page, Hollywood Nights, We've Got Tonight, Famous Final Scene, Her Strut, Come To Papa, Beautiful Loser, Kathmandu, Making Thunderbirds, Rock and Roll Never Forgets, Feel Like A Number, Rambin' Gamblin' Man, 2+2, Heavy Music... All great songs everyone loves. The list goes well beyond those I've listed. Enjoy this American music legend and his very deep musical rabbit hole.🤘😎
You're fun to listen with. Appreciate. 'Hollywood Nights' is my favorite Bob Seger songs. 👍 I can't afford Patreon right now but another suggestion is 'Scarlett Begonias' by the Grateful Dead. Best to go with studio versions when getting to know them. Album is Grateful Dead from the Mars Hotel. 'Estimated Prophet' 👍 - another suggestion - is also on that album. Do youngins know the dead anymore? Check 'em out. 😊 ☮️❤️&🎆
Bob Seger recorded this at muscle Shoals recording studio with a legendary swampers who also were the band that Aretha Franklin used to record all her hits. They played on 75 gold platinum hits from the Rolling Stone Rod Stewart Paul Simon, Wilson Pickett many more Bob Seger recorded with him the first five years of his career and 50%for the next five years
1970....The Harbor Blvd Drive-In, Costa Mesa Calif. I pull in with my Candy Apple Red 1957 Chevy Belair Nomad with 428 HP making a lot of noise, some people yelled at me to shut up. Got parked, put the speaker in the window, got in the back seat....I'm in the back seat trying to make my "Night Moves" and all is going well until.... An usher shines his flashlight into my car telling us we have to GET OUT OF HERE....NOW. I told him to turn off his light because my girl was...... and he was hoping for a peak. I got out with no pants on and got in his face, got in my drivers seat, still no pants, revved up my car really loud in the middle of the movie. Many people CHEERED and some yelled as I did a massive BURN-OUT in 1st gear leaving a cloud of smoke as my girl laughed her naked butt off....."Young Wild And Free".... as you said.
Classic! 1976. The first time I heard the song I was eleven, maybe twelve, listening to late night FM radio, when night moves were still mysterious, like the distant thunder of an approaching storm.
Nice Review. You are Insightful, usually catching the drift right away, catching the abstract as well as what's right there in front of you. I Think you enjoy discovering this music in the same way we did, when it was new to us. I've taken a lot of joy, watching you react as I reminisce. I guess that was point of the last verse in the song, except for me it's more like Winter closing in.
You are in the greatest generation for music when you listen to Bob! One of a kind with that raspy voice! And some pretty interesting lyrics and themes!! You can dig into Bob's playlist forever and not hit a bad song! Iconic songs "Like a Rock", "Old time rock and roll" are American standards now! If you get a chance, have you heard of Gabriel Henrique? He's Brazilian and has one of the most versatile and amazing voices I've heard in decades. Check out his performance of "I want to know what love is", on a rooftop in Brazil. Buckle up...seriously, he's not called the Brazilian Whistle King for nothing! Obrigado!
Great song, great band! Looks like you played an edited version, it happens. Next, check out Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man (69) and Feel Like A Number (78). ✌️
Fire down below, Sunspot baby , Her strut, Main Street are 4 awesome songs that are worth hearing from him but theres so many Also would love to hear some more Billy Joel if u have time either Stiletto or Say goodbye to Hollywood Thanks for you reactions
Honestly, on any that I'm not able to find a new JMBOY reaction.....that day SUCKS. I seriously look forward to your reactions and don't know what I'll do 😮 when they stop!! 😂😂😂
For me this edited version and horrible video that is at least ten years older then the release of the original song does no justice to 1977 when we use to party in high school going to concerts and kegger parties and hooking up with your girlfriend or one night stand that leave a definite mark and/or missed memory of growing through awkward moments and losing your virginity !......I lived it and this music was part of it !
You totally missed the change in perspective, from a teenager to an older man, at the end of the song. “With Autumn closing in” referencing getting older. Don’t feel bad though, every reactor seems to miss it.
This version seems faster for some reason and it cuts off the ending. Also, the video us odd and adds nothing to the song. Regardless, this is an ab banger classic. Turn The Page is my all time fave by him but this is a close second.
One of my favorite all times songs. Bob Seger could write songs and sing them like
no one else.
When he talks about autumn moving in, he’s talking about the autumn of one’s life….this song is retrospective…
As always, I love the respect you show the artist A+
"Turn The Page".... the story of his life on the road.
You were cheated out of the actual end of that song. If you go back and listen make sure to find a version that plays the whole song to the definitive end.
Yep, I hate that they cut it off. Some real soul that got cut.
So agree -- you gotta vibe to this song to the very last drop.
"workin' on mysteries without any clues" love this lyric.
Youth is here and gone before you can blink. With autumn closing in.
The first half is youth and discovering your NIGHT moves.
The 2nd half is as an older man (...started hummin' a song from 1962) looking back and seeing how the night MOVES (...with autumn closing in). A reference to aging and moving further away from those innocent times.

Bob Seger is a good one. All of his songs are worth a moment. Thanks for sharing.
The voice of a generation.... thankfully, my generation.
And I love that you listened to this song without interrupting. That is showing respect to a man who has earned it.
Anything by Bob Seger is worth reacting to. We use to blast the neighbors with his music. We had huge speakers.
"Down On Main Street".
This song oozes the 70’s. Great memories.
I was about 12 when it came out. the moment i heard it i loved it. next trip to tower records with enough paper route money i bought the album. i just wore it out. looking back i'm kind of surprised i loved it so much at such a young age. but love it i did.

Same. Not as hard as like a rock hits. "20 years now, where'd they go? 20 years.... I don't know."
Bob Seger. WOW. What a fantastic ultra talented singer/song writer.
In my humble opinion, one of the top10 in the last 100 years in America.
LOVE ME SOME SEGER ! Great camping music.
YEP
Oh the memories of drive in theaters……wait, what was I talking about.
Bob Seger is one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters. Bob! in between songs....what a magical night that was to sing along to all these classic songs I grew up too.
I saw him in the 70s. There wasn't many more popular than him back then...
Warning don't watch the video while listening to Night Moves, it's better to just to listen and let your mind take you to wherever. Great memories from your youth years should appear.
Agreed
Missed the actual ending of the song Love how you let the song play out completely Keep up the fantastic work
Seger has soul for sure!!!
End of that video was missing.
His "live Bullet" album is one of the greatest live albums of all time. Put it on the first track and let it play.
Got to see them in concert in 1983. Great show.
Never saw this video before. How many of you out there got into the drive-in in the trunk of a car lol...memories!
Love your review. I also appreciate how you respectfully listen to whatever song you are reviewing without always breaking in with comments, shows you are really vibing with the lyrics and music. That's why I AM subscribed.
Roll Me Away, Horizontal Bop, Betty Lou, Feel Like a Number and The Famous Final Scene.
and thirty more... lol
@@BigTimeRushFan2112 at least!
Im a true Babyboomer. Saw him several times in the 70s and 80s with my dark haired beauty.
Great summer song.
Bob's first great hit song was "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" in the summer of '69. You'll love his killer song "Mainstreet".
Bob has some of the most POWERFUL Southern Soul and Blues I`ve ever heard. Ditto for Ted Nugent too...and they`re YANKEES! Crazy stuff guys!
You can't go wrong with any tune from Bob Seger. If he put it in a song it is worth listening to. He is among the Greatest Classic American Rockers.
I GREW UP ON THESE SONGS I MISS OUR TIME!!!!!
Looked like a young Matt LeBlanc in the video...
It was him
Check out Bob and Jason Aldean singing together. He's as good today as he was all those years ago. Listened to him on the radio, had his albums, and 8 track tape in the car lol.
The lyrics in his songs are fantastic!😺🎶

Try Seger's "Travelin' Man/Beautiful loser" off of the Live Bullet album.

Always thought of Autumn in this song as a metaphor for middle age.
Great 😊 song still now every word can't forget old school ❤

What a great rabbit hole from such a great era of music! Enjoy!!!
Love Bob Seger!💜
It;s always a pleasure to hear you evaluate a great song, as you have so many times. Thank you.
…….great breakdown, well said bro ! You nailed it 💪🏾
JM's gonna love the sustained organ watch & see . . .

I was listening to Fra Lippo & Lippi, the song "Home" from the Light & Shade album, thought about you.
Great song, great band! Looks like you played an edited version, it happens. Next, check out Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man (69) and Feel Like A Number (78). ✌️
The Smithereens - Blood and Roses - 1986 performance

Edited edition he doesn't get to stick around to hear the greatest ending
"How you doin'?"
❤🔥🔥🔥🔥❤
Honestly, on any that I'm not able to find a new JMBOY reaction.....that day SUCKS. I seriously look forward to your reactions and don't know what I'll do 😮 when they stop!! 😂😂😂
Best part of this song was the last 90 seconds which were left off.
Gotta hear the album version, it’s disgusting how they chopped up this classic and left out the great ending 🤨
Merica.
I love this song, but hate this video and the way it cuts off the fantastic ending of this song. Check out the studio version of this song.
The song is better other album they cut of the last part. Great voice, great story telker.

I don't know why Bob Seger made this the official video it cuts out a lot of the best parts it sucks actually
You do yourself a disservice not playing the album version, the editing changes that from one of the best tracks ever written to just a good track,😢
❤
