During the Canadian Trucker protest the authorities froze bank accounts for anyone donating a minimum of 5 dollars, confiscated fuel to prevent people from staying warm, took away porta-potties and restricted access to washrooms, they even threatened to take away peoples kids.
Then they trampled an elderly woman with a horse.
Their protest is insulting

Thing is, most people can't process it. Now, as somebody who's been to West Africa and liked it a lot, I am not trying to cast shade on them, so that's my caveat. But I was at a pub with a bunch of expats in Asia (UK, Ireland, US, Canada, others), and there was a Nigerian guy, and in conversation, he just said, "If my son were gay, I'd kill him."
Now, the Euros and Aussies, Americans, whatever, all kind of chuckled, but I was like, "No, he means that." And he said, "Yeah, I mean it. I'd beat the life out of him and bury him somewhere he'd never be found," or what have you. They were all speechless.
So, I think this is a similar thing. These "Gays for Palestine" folks don't actually know what they're dealing with and that those people aren't playing around.

Many people seem to be confused about the difference between 'terrorist' and 'freedom fighter'. It is understandable because these things aren't so clear.
The way I used to explain it to school kids is this: If the Jews in Nazi Germany were targeting the Nazi state by bombing the Reichsführer-SS/Army bases/Nazi government bases and similar then I'd call them 'freedom fighters'.
However if these 'freedom fighters' started targeting schools, pop concerts, shopping centres and similar civilian spaces then I'd call them 'terrorist'.
A 'freedom fighter' would have to be targeting an oppressive state or similar, for instance the Islamic jihadist terrorists in UK aren't targeting an oppressive state, Muslims are free to practice and spread their religion unfettered, probably to the detriment of wider social cohesion, and the Islamists wish to exchange the freedom that we have now for an oppressive totalitarian Islamic state imposing the Shari'a upon the population. Therefore the UK jihadists cannot be described as 'freedom fighters'.
Now the world being shades of grey does means that it is possible to erm "be on the right side of history" and be a terrorist, the Suffragettes committed terrorist attacks, something people today tend to ingnore/forget. But they did cross that ^ line and personally I don't think that was OK.
'Terrorism' itself doesn't have a universally agreed definition, its a problem when trying to deal with it and get nations to support coherent and consistent responses.
The essence of terrorism is using attacks/violence to coerce another party - usually but not always a government - into changing or creating their policy/law/positions. These attacks maybe targeted at state apparatus but typically terrorists target soft civilian targets where they are happy to indiscriminately kill innocent civilians.
Their aims are overtly political and they seek to instill fear and distress into the population, the impact of their acts isn't necessarily measured by the about of death/damage they cause, but by the amount of fear and disruption that they create. For instance they could just shoot or stab somebody, but they may instead kill and behead and then defile the body making the act more shocking and barbaric, making people more fearful, do these acts in public spaces and these days film/live stream the violence against innocents for maximum impact.

I've tried to explain this to multiple people in the past 6 months, and I've been largely unsuccessful in changing their minds. At the end of the day, there is a certain number of people who don't care whether the "resistance" is legitimate or not--they just want to watch things burn (preferably with white colonialist oppressors inside).
