it’s been almost two years since i found out about ichika and by far this is one of my favorite songs he has -isolation has this some kind of impact to me when i just hear the intro of the whole song. my crush also introduced ichika to me which is kinda wholesome if he finds this comment i’m ded ;-; he doesn’t know i like him,,, but yes ichika!!!!! ily keep uploading more videos your uploads are beautiful and so is everything about you i’m just addicted man ;(

Nothing about this is "showing off". Someone just wrote lyrics. It might be more common nowadays to view music as accompaniment to lyrics, but it doesn't mean that that's how it works for every piece under the sun. There's no "stealing his thunder", we all know damn well how good Ichika is.

My favorite guitar song ever
Ichika in my opinion is bringing about a new era of classical music for a much more digital age. His usage of different modes and the chromatic scale ring up Bach esque vibes and honestly the man is just an absolute genius. It’s beautiful to see him bringing about old techniques and styles into our times and his clear knowledge of music is insane!!! Love this dude and I have infinite respect for what he’s doing!

I feel like most of us can reflect on our own quarantined life with this song. The main motif being repeated over and over through the song, looping and looping makes me think of every day feeling just like the other, like you repeat the same things everyday.
Then you have the crazy licks which could relate to the briefs moments of joy and excitement that you can get through various things, be it entertainment or a hobby, only to ultimately returning to this numbing routine and the loneliness that comes with it when the main motif of the song comes back at the end.
Before I got myself together (as we're still somewhat quarantined where I live), this was like exactly how it felt day after day.
