Here in Europe the oil pan gasket, oil filter housing gasket and those plastic water lines are at their end at about 150t mls (ap 250.000 km). That's on the M52/54. Only the gaskets on the M50 because it doesn't have the plastic water lines indeed. Keep up the good work guys. You are my favorite bmw DIY channel ever!! Big shout out to you 2. Dutch regards.

This is great info!! I had my intake manifold off to address Lean codes & Random Misfires which common opinion says change the manifold gasket & vac lines, air boots, ICV, DISA etc. So while I had the manifold off, I saw 3 coolant rubber hose lines & replaced those since they were all original & realized the access with manifold off. ('01 330 ci, 201K mi). But I did NOT realize the plastic coolant pipes PM! So everything is back together with the original pipes still in! Great!

Those hard pipes could last up to 300,000 but definitely have to change the 50/50 blue coolant and distilled water every year this is what we call preventative maintenance.
We see some vehicles come in with hard pipes leaking orange 🍊 coolant at 60,000 miles.
YOU MUST USE THE RIGHT COOLANT AND DISTILLED WATER 🌊
    NOT TAP WATER 💦

    Hi!
I have a BMW vehicle model x3 e83, 2010 , I mention that the car has a 2.0 diesel engine, automatic transmission and I have some questions:
    1. When should the distribution be changed !? The distribution is on the chain, the engine code is N47? Km?
    2. When is it advisable to replace the gearbox oil? Km?
    3. When should I expect to change the particle filter? Km, approx.
    4. When can the first problems with EGR occur? Estimated km.

Why didn't they make these pipes from metal? They'd be inexpensive enough to reproduce in metal now.

How sensitive is the check engine light to vacuum leaks? I have experience with my previous car, a mark 1 ford focus which had vacuum leaks that had no easily noticable symptoms until the muffler clogged. Should I go digging for the vacuum lines under and behind the intake manifold on my M54b25 if I have no noticable issues or engine light?

Love the channel. Maybe you can help me with a question. I have a fully stock US imported 2011 BMW M3 and it’s here in Japan where I live. There’s a sound test requirement and to pass is 82db. I’m current at 85db. Are there any ways to silence the exhaust for cheap or reasonable price? Without compromising performance?

people in my country use those aluminium things to wash the dishes on dirt bikes so they can pass the test and then just remove them give it a try

Usually by the time these cars get to 100k they're having other issues like electrical, window regulators, exhaust, interior trim, blower motors & resistors, seat motors, air suspension. Sometimes walking away or parting the car out is usually the route to go because the dealer won't take it as a trade in....

My 2004 bmw 325i makes a clanking noise near the fan housing on first start up in morning while warming up, what could it be?

Pulleys? Possibly. Check my ytoutube channel, I have an exmaple of the noise. If it is the same then it is your pulleys.

I just bought a 2000 bmw 328ci with 86k miles and it needs a ccv replaced and an ignition switch, what else would you recommend replacing?
