I use videos like this to guide me on the various vehicles I work on. No two cars are ever exactly the same. With that being said, this has to be one of the BEST videos on youtube. I seriously wish people would do tons of stuff like this. It made my job 1000% easier and probably helped me get the job done 40% faster than without this video. Good work! Hope to see lots more.

I have watched a lot of different videos for the intake removal. Im glad you show more of the removal process. Would be nicer to see more of the intracacies of the process. You showed a few steps that none of the other videos showed. Thank you. Despite having an e39 myself. I was absolutely shocked how hard it was to find an instructional that showed the 99 e39 and not the 97. Great job. Now i just have to refer to this vid a few times so i can get the darn thing back in

@ShopLifeTV you should do a video on how to install an oil catch can for the people that want to delete the CCV , I feel that you go over everything really well and there is not a lot of great videos on how to do it properly on a E46 /M54 engine . You would be the right person to do that:) I hope you do . Keep up the great work . You have helped me a lot with my BMW

The only injector clip I dropped was #2 and it went in the hole between #1 and #2 intake runners. I kid you not, it made it all the way to the floor. I could drop a clip in that hole a hundred times and it would only make it to the floor 2 or 3 times. I feel the repair has been blessed from on high.

Great video. Thank you and appreciate your videos.I am a little bit unsure how you managed to remove the fuel rail without lots of fuel spilling all over the place. I assume you purged the fuel rail first but i dont believe you shared that part in the video. I note this because its probably the single most dangerous and potentially messy part of this manifold removal process. Overall your videos are really clear and well presented.Awesome. Also was wondering if you could have included mentioning replacing the heater hoses that sit under the manifold since you have the manifold off and its accessible. Would really be a waste for someone to remove the manifold and then get the car going and one of those heater hoses in the block starts leaking and they have to take the manifold off again. LOL

At the start it was a little hard to see what you were removing if you can get a small LED light in put in under were your working it would make it a lot easy to see the dark spots. I look forward to seeing other videos you make. Especially if its show the vanos filter location for this model of engine. Using this video this coming weekend. My 325i has been sitting to long now. All over a broke water pump. Since I had it close to the overheated side of life I decided a great idea to change out some of the more important gaskets and went about the intake removal a ridiculously stupid hard way. And as I was installing everything I forgot to plug in one wire that is impossible to plug in with the intake in place and bolted back down. Oh what wire was that yep u guessed it the blanking blank blank knock sensors ugggh this was over two months ago and caused me to loose all want to get my baby back on the road

Thanks for being thorough and detailed on this DIY video. Anyone know the part numbers to the vacuum hoses that he recommends replacing along with the other parts that are needed to be replaced? Thanks!!

Great step by step, helped me get through this job, BUT *** there are vacuum lines underneath and in the back that will break and have to be disconnected, he did not mention taking them off!! I broke the hose that connects the vacuum pump to the intake. And the secondary air pump hose is usually really brittle and mine snapped like a piece of straw
