Dude! WTF are you made off!!! Note: I don't want to minimise how much effort and knowledge and the thousands of hours you put into it by implying you are gifted with rubber tendons or whatever. I fully respect everything you've done to get to the point you're at - that is just an "ok" way to express how ineffably impressive you are.
I had to get someone to stand on my shoulder to keep it from coming off the ground in that prone exercise. Serious leverage issue. Left did not lift, but I might have you with my right arm though.
INCREDIBLE! I always share your videos with my inflexible Dad David. I also really like the orange flavored stay flexy powder that came from Dollar fulfillment. 10/10 recommend others to buy it!
Had a BLAST working with David!!! He's got some vids coming out with us on his channel next week so Subscribe to him! Podcast with him this weekend, super fascinating insights!
Watch Michael Phelps warmups sometime. He outdid this guy on shoulders. All those top swimmers? Many of them can just about clap their shoulder-blades together. I'm a swimmer, and I can tell you, if you are going to do butterfly, you need that flexibility to do it safely. I got back into swimming in my sixties, and I love butterfly. It's such a fun, all-out stroke. It's the best whole body sprint there is. After doing butterfly for a few months and really getting into it, I had messed up my shoulders. I had to stop swimming completely for the past 3 years and I hate that. This was all because I didn't work on my shoulder flexibility. It's not just in the shoulder joint. It's the whole thing. All that needs to move, or it's just too much leverage on what we call the shoulder joint. So, a word to the wise guys and girls. If you get back into butterfly, get our flexibility back, or go easy.
I’m totally imagining Juji waking up in a cold sweat at 3am and immediately having to call David about a crazy flexy way to use a standard exercise machine
As a P.E. student it will never cease to amaze me how different top athletes can look. Both of these men are machines and yet they look so vastly different. Sport is truly beautiful and by god is it diverse.
@@GroundZ3R0Gamer fair point but even when you look at the Olympics (where everyone has a doctor) or at amateur leagues, you can see a stark contrast between the different sports.
i really wanted to see you work with david. because of the overlaping intrest in mobility, what i didnt expect was the social dynamics to look this good. really good work guys
I really liked this collab, they are both really into health and taking care of your self. But just in two different ways. I think something really good could come out of these two making some more content together. Doing experiements on exercising or just trying out different styles of exercise or sports together.
I'm gonna do those shoulder exercises for olympic lifting. David is great, already subscribed! I'd like to see him put Juji through the gauntlet of pistol squats, dragon squats, elbows to toes stretches, etc.
I'm watching this Video in the middle of the night with my window open and I just laughed SO HARD I heard my upstairs neighbors dog start barking 😂😂😂 so Thx for that good laugh 😂👌🏻
Please keep making videos together, your energy and knowledge together is fantastic. From someone who is bodybuilding but wants to apply the flexy stuff to my workouts.
I’ve been wanting this collab ever since finding out how flexible juji is and finding David’s channel. Glad it’s here. Can’t wait to watch the podcast.
This was an awesome collab! Love to see two enthusiasts come together and address potential challenges solutions depending on what the target is. And it’s always great to see mutual respect for the other’s craft and skills.
Super helpful as I have terrible shoulder flexibility. The problem I have is as my shoulders don't go back far enough when lifted above my head, when doing overhead press I end up bending my lower back to compensate which hurts every time. Will try out some of those stretches
This was great. You guys got a good energy together. Would love to see more of you two doing things together. It's the odd couple kind of thing and it's just enjoyable watching you exchange your different knowledge and skills.
These collabs of Juji are great. So many different skillsets to train and ways to train a body. Many people just go to a gym to "look good", functionality isn't as interesting to a lot of people.
Going to rain on some parades here. This is all fine and dandy but the studies on hypermobility are very clear. The highest rates of injury occur in the least and most flexible groups. Now I stretch after cardio and in between every stet, stretching off muscle groups, as part of my rest period, but being that flexible and trying to do what I and many other do athletics wise would lead to lots of injury. A good example of the hypermobility problem is Randy Orton. He has genetically hypermobile shoulders. That's how we got the RKO. He kept dislocating his shoulder on his first finishing move, The Overdrive .
I think the problem lies in combining strength training with flexibility training. I believe David even mentions it in one of his videos - stretching does lower your max reps if you train after it, it also increases the risk of injury. You should stretch after strength training or on separate days, never do it as a part of a warm up or in between sets, as it can lower your results. Some stretches seem like a "lightweight" training but they really are taxing on your muscles.
7:38 GUYS if you do squats with this grip go light I the weight is heavy, bar will slide down and break your humerus bone by spiral fracture There is video of it happening too!
Interesting video! I like that David said that bodybuilding is the art of isolating muscles. I pretty much only lift weights to prevent or recover from climbing injuries and while I do the same exercises my goals are pretty much opposite to pure bodybuilders. I guess that's also why compound lifts feel so much better to me than training isolated muscles: correct form feels like bad technique to me. Which I guess circles back to Juji wanting max growth from minimal time and recovery investment, while I don't actually want to get bigger, just more resilient to whatever dumb ass beta I'm going to try next
It’s so much range of movement with strength. I just love that max flexibility and power can meld together. I bet in martial arts, the guys who like to use joint manipulation on the ground couldn’t make the man tap out.
9:15 "That might not be possible" I mean, after a couple warm-up sets that's where I tend to put my hands for the low-bar squat, and my shoulder mobility is awful. And even more, I usually have flat wrists, too. I think it's just if you squat that way, that position gets easier. This grip width was just how I was taught.
Stay Flexy! Incredible experience.

Would love to see you cover FAI/CAM impingement. Supposedly affects 25% of men in some populations and prohibits deep squatting/hip flexion.

Dr. Mike Israetel liked that
If he sees that this level of stretch at the bottom is possible he's gonna be even more vicious in critiquing everyone and never satisfied.
This guy ROMs even further beyond
Dr Mike is Team Full ROM, not Team Extreme ROM. Definitely a difference
@@michaelmcdonald1620 Extreme ROM is just the Full ROM you haven't discovered was possible yet XD

Great tips for my shoulder replacement. I have been working hard to attempt to gain some range of motion.
Juji and David?! I didn't think I'd live to see the day! Awesome video!

One thing that's sucks about becoming muscular is the decrease flexibility. Gotta train both.
