Thanks for this. Just built one to use with my Echo/Alexa enabled smart plugs. Simply say "Alexa, turn on siren" at or away from home, and it gets annoyingly loud at my house. Love it.
Hi there, first of all thank you for posting a video like this! I’m trying to do something similar. I have purchased a 12V DC siren that has a 3.5mm jack on the end of the two red/black wires. I also purchased a DC adaptor to plug into the wall which also has a 3.5mm jack. Then to connect the two I got a female 3.5mm adapter to link it but I don’t hear any sound? If I got the screw to terminal jack do you think that would solve the problem? I have no way of testing whether the alarm is actually broken or not. Thanks in advance!
I'm hoping I can use some sort of contact sensor to trigger this off, like a door contact sensor, how can you integrate that with your current setup? thanks
In Homekit I would set an automation for the contact senor. You can set an action (alarm turning on) to occur when the sensor opens. You can set it up to work during specific times of the day or when no one is in the home.
@@TheHTGuys thank you so much for that idea, so in essence I will have a plug + door sensor and in homekit I will link automation that is door sensor open, send triggers to plug to turn on thus siren goes off and can be turn off from homekit .. awesome!!! thanks
If your Ring doorbell has been integrated with a home automation framework it can be done. In my case I use Apple's homekit and ws able to make it work with Homebridge, I believe there is a way to ake it work with Google Home as well as the Amazon Echo.
Hi there, you sound like you know what your doing! I'm looking to activate something over the internet you're set up is quite basic and it looks like it will do the job.. any info on how I can obtain the parts and also activate this unit via a smartphone
Any remote switch will work. They typically have an app that gives you access via the Internet. Amazon has plenty of them for less than $10. The siren is found at part-express.com look for part number #260-060. The power supply is part number 129-1203 and the terminal jack is #335-372
I am using Homekit but this will work with Google or Amazon as well. The plug is made by el Gato and the line is called eve. Right now it only works with HomeKit but el gato will support Matter which will be platform independent. Matter should start rolling by the second half of the this year. You also do not need to use this plug. This is a generic type of function that will work on any platform with any smart-plug.
Your Ring system needs to be able to trigger events that your home automation system can use to turn on a switch that the alarm is connected to. On its own, I'm not sure ring can do this. But as part of an automation system that can use ring it can.
Can I set this up and activate the siren using a cell phone? Is there a home automation app I can download? I am not too tech savvy so please help :) Thank you!
Hi Jonathan, Yes you can. There are many smart plugs available for iOS and Android phones. If you have any questions lease email me ara@htguys.com. We can set up a quick phone call to discuss.
I am trying to get a system that I can control from my house to my business if my camera sees an intruder..I would actually like to talk through the system
I got a pair of sirens that look like these from Amazon. They advertise them as 120 decibels but my testing at 1 foot away showed only 95 decibels. Not loud enough to be really effective. I would say 105db is minimal requirement. I despise these sellers who lie like that about their products. It is going back.
I have that exact siren! I got it out of my aunt’s old house, it was originally connected to a now defunct alarm system from the 90’s
Thanks for this. Just built one to use with my Echo/Alexa enabled smart plugs. Simply say "Alexa, turn on siren" at or away from home, and it gets annoyingly loud at my house. Love it.
I used the wyze plug
Please make a video on how to pair the alarm with your existine homebase security system ???
This helps a lot I'm going to use a motion sensing outlet for my vehicle because people want to keep stealing things off my roof
Looking for a high frequency setup like this - for dog barking ... Any ideas about where to buy HF siren? thanks for the vid
Will this work with my contact sensors on my doors and windows , so like when a window open the siren will trigger?
yes it will work like this. But you'll have to set an automation to trigger the siren when the door or window opens.
Ok but can you tell me how to do this with a panic button on my neck or remote

What home animation system you are using ?
I am using Apple's HomeKit
I’ve got a rest what’s the white plug u plugged in cheers
To turn it on is easy. Now, what I want is for it turned off automatically after 30 seconds until the next trigger.
easy, with a boolean switch
How would you pair this with your eufy security system so that it can trigger with system ?
Thanks I'll watch soon to set this up. I have a left over siren from a system I'm not using.

What kind of app does this HT Guy use to connect the siren to the app?
its a smart plug
Is there some kind of delay to arm and disarm with out using a app
Is this a motion alarm
The alarm has no smarts. You can use a motion detector or door or window switch to activate it.
Hi, Can I connect it through usb at max 1 A? Will it be loud or to little?
i’m planning to build my own and control it using a Internet connected smart switch
which I can activate remotely for anywhere with mobile reception
What system is this and what plug is that? The plug that you plug the siren into not the siren plug. Thanks.
