      European standard for outside doors means thicker doors and multi bolts inset in the door which activate with the turn of a key.

      I don't think EU has that problem, my outside door is metal, and after that a wooden one that is thicker than my arm, not gonna go through that by kicking it, that's for sure.

      @@kaitojordan6669 if someone tried to shoot the hinges off my standard swedish door they would be more likely to get hit by shrapnel and ricochets then to get the door open.
      Basic security that will hold out almost any intruder is to build your house out of something stronger than paper-mache.
      Joke a side a decent door, walls and windows will stop almost all intruders.

    • @kikixchannel
      @kikixchannel Місяць тому +1

      @@erikelenstrom9685 Slow down almost all intruders you mean. Anything that can be 'made' can be 'unmade'. Armored doors, windows and walls included. If they're well made, it will just take more time and potentially louder entry.
      Even safes security is measures by the length of time needed for a professional safecracker to open it.
      Reality is that in most cases, intruders don't want to intrude into your house specifically. They're just going to do it because it's opportune for them to do so. Higher security measures are just going to make it less opportune for them than your neighbour.
      For a criminal that's specifically interested in getting into your home, willing to put in time and planning, they WILL get into your home. It's as simple as that. If through no other means then simply by assaulting you when you're out and forcing you to open the door for them.

      Yeah I was gonna say that thing is less than useless. Not only is it easily movable, if I were looking for high value items the first thing I'd do is look for a lock box like that. Take a dremel with a cutting disc and you can saw through the hinges in just a few seconds. So not only is it ineffective at protecting your valuables, it actively advertises their presence. You're literally better off shoving your old rings and necklaces and shit in the pocket of a worn out pair of jeans, folding that up, and sticking it at the bottom of your pants drawer.

Next to the security alarm panel, I have a note that says “So you don’t forget again, DUMMY!!! -7192” My thinking is that the burglar will be so completely certain that I’m a moron, that he won’t even consider the possibility that 7192 is ACTUALLY the distress code. It would be much easier, less expensive and more environmentally friendly to just feel your fears and release them. That would also be the best thing for your soul as well. Fear is just a feeling and we were made to feel it. When you feel afraid, breathe deeply from your diaphragm (tummy area) instead of just with your upper chest, allow yourself to shake, shiver and even throw up if you have to depending on how much fear you have. Once you release the fear about a particular issue (and it may take a few times to totally release it) then you will never have that fear again for the rest of your existence, so it’s well worth it. In fact if you choose not to feel your fear you are more likely to attract fearful events to you. So I encourage you to remember that fear is just another emotion that you can feel and hope you have enough love for yourself to at least try. God bless you

On top of that, Colin produces meme material, not true security devices.
