This is the very car that made me fall in love with AMG when I was much younger. Aggressive but still classy styling, N/A jewel of a V8, and it's a subtle AMG, relatively speaking... Again, marvelous video.

As a mechanic I know it's full potential.that car can make more power for less money than the e63 because the 63 has a naturally aspirated engine.any engine with a forced induction system (supercharger/turbo) can be modded or tuned easy for more power without having to add any bolt on mods to it.thats the beauty in owning a e55 amg or any boosted car.the 63 Is a monster but it's power upgrades are limited due to it being naturally aspirated

I have a Grey 2009 with 59,000 miles. P1, P2, and P30 with Distronic and Parktronic. I also installed the triangle in the trunk for euro spec cars, front german license plate, two small electric fans for the coolers, racing diff clutch plates for the posi, and a catch can. Car has no leaks and everything works like new. I just drive it a couple of times a year and it's paid for! I recently replaced all four rotors, e brake shoes, and pads. I have serviced the trans twice at home and installed a green gates serpentine belt with billet idlers. Cams look fine for now but a swap to m159 buckets and new head studs are in the future..
I was just looking into one of these in the used market. The one im looking at only has 40k miles and is maniatiacally mantained, but i was waiting on this video bc of the insight this guy gives you on amgs. Great video as always, i love this channel
DO NOT HESITATE. I had a 2009 for seven years and it was completely flawless. Absolutely perfect daily driver. Since then I’ve had a 2016 CLS63 and a 2019 E63 and I still remember my W211 incredibly fondly.
Very informative video and the information laid out perfectly. As a W211 E63 owner myself , i faced head-bolt issue with my vehicle, those who are interesting in getting one should aways check if the M156 engine has the updated head-bolts or not, without them the engine is basically like a ticking time bomb and its a very labour intensive and expensive job to replace.Happy motoring.

Great video. I have owned my E63 for 2 years 30,000 and I have not regretted it. Though I did recently replace the engine mounts and also resolved a few leaks as stated in the video im still happy with my baby. Mine has all the options for the US market minus the distronic so after seeing that im happy with the specs the original owner chose for me. Great video! I bought an 08 E63 with 81K. I've put about 13K on it in three years, and I look forward to driving it every day. The sound of the M156 never gets old. I've had no problems with the head bolts. I did have a front airmatic shock fail on me ($1,300 fix) and I replaced the front and rear pads and rotors myself, but besides that just ordinary oil changes every 7,500 or so. Just a fantastic looking car.
@@emileanobecerra8000 Honestly, I don't drive it in the snow because it has summer tires on it and I also have a Tahoe. But, yes, I can see it getting all over the place in the snow if you aren't careful.
This only video I’ve seen stating the correct reason WHY it’s 63 instead of 62 because its 62xx CC’s not just because it’s a throwback to old Mercedes’.

I would still get the E55 W211 AMG E class instead. A very little horsepower difference, more torque and significantly more reliable engine compared to the E63. Still, if you find a decent exsample of this generation AMG E class, you won't make a bad choice.
Their reliability status is starting to go down hill. Trust me. I bought one in December and have spent more then the value of the car in repairs and only to be told piston rings have gone. Supercharger also blew too. As with any car, try and buy one with good history. Learn from my mistake. I would rather get the E63 to be honest. You will not notice much difference in power. They';re both animals and can take most that attempt to challenge them.
As I'm watching this video I have been contemplating about buying one of these, 101k miles the 08 6.3 AMG . Yet the with the multi piece wheels and with the graphite colors. Will watch for leaks on gaskets and valve covers
So far the most well equiped w211 i have seen was a E400 cdi from 2004, it had distronic, and solar panel on the roof, inside it was so well equiped, like every fucking option But the most well equiped mercedes in general was an bulet proof W221, S600 every fucking thing you can get in the s class was in there
My wrenching skills were far less when I 1st got my m272 E coupe a while ago, and I now cry myself to slept night for not shopping for m113k e55's instead. Given how many things I had to go thru on the car, maintenance (aside from the price of suspension parts) would've been possibly less on the e55. My almost $500 rear window regulator makes up for the difference I'm sure. If you're thinking of a 211, don't hesitate and back out like I did before we're all forced into EV's.

this version of the m156 is the same one which comes in the c63 with performance package? or is it the m156 without performance package? has this engine the same parts as the sls like the m156 with performance package?
Looking to buy one of these. Does anyone know if all model years of W211 E63s are susceptible to head bolt failure or if it was only the 2007 and 2008 cars?

Hey , I have a 2005 E 55 and now when i fill it fully it leaks gas to the ground, theres no smell of gas on the inside but on the outside. Does warranty cover this issue?? Thank you
Never overfill fuel. First click on the pump and that is it. If you are filling correctly then you might be out of luck because the car is more than 15 years old. Still might be worth to try and ask your dealership if they would consider helping you out? The warranty did cover all fuel tank components.
Woww super low miles… almost too low lol Is it possible for a vehicle to be ‘under driven’ as far as miles are concerned? Does not driving it enough, also cause mechanical issues?
Good question. I would say mechanical issues could arise if the car sits for very long periods of time such as 2 years plus. The gas is going to go bad and cause issues, tires will flat spot etc. However, if you have evidence such as insurance records that the car was insured every year and driven even just a little then there is absolutely no issue with super low mile cars.
@@AMGmeister Good point, i only ask because when i would drive my clk63 around at least once or twice a week, i never had any issues with it but when i would let it sit for 3 weeks to a month+ straight, is when i started having problems w it. First, the alternator went out, then the rear main seal started leaking, then the motor mounts went out! Lol The mercedes Tech says, i need to drive it more often. “ “AMG’s” dont like to be parked” 😅 I believe him lol

The 55 is supercharged and can get more power with the smallest mods to the supercharged set up.it makes more sense to pick a e55 over a e63.

Yeah, E63 wagons were not sold here for 2007-2009. But you do see some 2012+ E63 wagons from time to time in Vancouver.

No, this E63 engine does not have the SLS parts. The SLS internals were only put in the C63 P31, black series, and 507 edition.

It's a rare occurrence but all model years are impacted on w211 e63. It was addressed in 2011.
