My Dad owned a 2004, S55 AMG. It was the only car that would put a huge foolish smile on my face, and even on the faces of the passengers, every time I would floor it. I have an 06 E350. I would love to find an E55, but I already have an Audi B5 S4 Stage 3. So the Mercedes is my go to comfort car. Very reliable and looks really good still. I was a German car tech for 15 years. These W211's are bullet proof. I appreciate your video and your garage is killer. I'm trying to buy a house with enough property to build a 4 car shop with a loft.

E55 OMG :) This is timeless design. Practically the only Merc I ever salivated after, and still do. And the commands table is unbeatable. Give me those simple no nonsense air vents and I'm all down for business.
If your radio ever craps out I have an original one from my w211 with cassette player ill ship to you for free its just wasting space in my garage. was stupid because i had upgraded to a cd/nav comand head unit i bought from some dude in lithuania and it worked just fine but i left it in when I traded it.
congrats, got mine in 2011 and love it, bang for the buck an awesome car, only down side was the stereo, after upgrading that it's been very good to me
I have a C55 same motor just N/A and a few different internals higher compression and no supercharger and plan to pull my m113 and drop in a m1113k (E55) Motor. I was quoted $8k full complete swap and they are providing the motor and anything else needed still being able to pass emissions. C55 is more reliable ( less E class crap that can break) C55 is 600lbs lighter but really will come out to 500lbs with added S/C E55 is 4000-42000lbs Each car will make 700HP and torque with simple mods as explained in this video. The transmission is exactly the same in both cars and is bulletproof. You could make 800+ (In a 4 door Mercedes with this motor for around 15k - stock HP 500 + $2500ish mods you're 700+ HP RELIABLE horsepower. Compare that to a C63 that weighs 4000lbs and has just over 500hp N/A motor, so no mods. C63's range from $25k-70 (and you pay tons of money if you get one with gremlins, that only the Dealer can fix for thousands. C55s range from ragged out 5-7k and nice well taken care of 9k to 11k. E55s range 15k-20k. HP per $1 spent either way, the C55 with it being 500lbs lighter , same power (w/ the swap) and has the same transmission, also better suspension. I can say cause I have driven a C32, 2 C55s one of which I currently own, and a family members E55 with some light mods. and screw the $10k kleemann supercharger and $3k headers, RIP OFFF for the C55 with 13k I could make 800+ with a modded and turned m113k swap probably less even. AND THE M113 PISTONS COMPRESSION IS NOT FOR BOOST, SO BYE BYE TO YOUR MERCEDES AND 10S OF THOUSANDS IN MODS. I was not overly impressed when I drove the E55 or overwhelmed like people make it out to be, stcok these two run a 13.1 and 12.8 1/4 mile jUST WANTED TO ADD SOME INPUT, The E55 in maintained condition even with 200k miles will drive like new and provide you with insane 500 hp. I can't understand why they are so cheap?
I have the Dynamic seats in my E500 Sport. They don’t seem to be working but the lights come on. I know the driver side worked for a minute when I bought the car. Any suggestions as to a fix or issue? Thanks so much
LegitStreetCars hey Alex my car jumps out off gear when I “gas” it and it will be fine if I pull over and put it in park then back into drive , I thinning I need a new transmission conductor plate & I wanted to ask you if I should replace my solenoids as well , please let me know what you think I need to buy the conductor plate ASAP and do it myself my engine check like is on
LegitStreetCars also Alex should I replace my solenoids in my 2004 e55 while I’m in there replacing the conductor plate as well ? And after the job is done do I need to get s computer reset in the TCU or is it just a plug and play type of part
Everyone's getting this car noticed now and it's becoming more popular which isn't good for me because I been trying to buy one for past 2-3 years. Great car though and video. I'm looking for the same options as well.
I almost bought a E55 for 15'000 here in Switzerland, because of the good performance to money ratio. But then I saw a BMW 645 with 100K Km for 17'000 with sports suspension and 20 inch drop centre rims and i instantly fell in love. It looks so great and sexy, a kind of Aston Martin style. And the engine sounds almost like an american V8. Has "just" 333 hp vs. E55 with 476 hp. After 2 weeks of comparing E55, Audi S8/S5, CLS500, BMW 550 etc. I am very happy with the 645 with 20 inch rims and sports suspension which lowers the car about 4 cm. Looks perfect and I noticed people "turn their head" when they see the car. That is a good sign. Almost nobody turns the head for a E55 even if it is the newest model. They are Limousines and can never look really sexy. Just squarish cars like all the other cars. But sure better than any SUV. SUV have no sex appeal. But people are not able to understand what looks good. The do what other people do. Copy and Paste. They don't have the "smell" for beauty.
just found you and subscribed! watched several of your vids so far and I'm blown away to actually enjoy a "car guy" talking about cars likes he's my neighbor down the street. Keep them coming!!!
Hoping your channel prospers further; I enjoy your approach to car videos. I have had my E55 for over 10 years now and thoroughly enjoyed it, having rebuilt the engine and transmission myself. Similar to you I also have a fondness towards the WS6, and have been searching for a clean red 2002. Keep up the great work.
Lee Dye Thanks Lee! Very cool you took on the rebuild yourself.Big fan of that. The WS6 is like my first child, love it. Thanks so much for the kind words
You should see my Moms 2003 E55 AMG.. it only has 17,000 miles and is completely stock original everything. Mercedes told me two years ago after I took it in for an oil change that her E55 was the 5th ever built and that it has the lowest miles of any in the world. It’s has never ever had a single hiccup. it’s lived in Palm Springs it’s whole life.. always garaged… no accidents.. it’s as prestige as the day they bought it. my mom only lives in that city 6 months of the year. it’s never been listed as being for sale but if you have any friends that wanna make any offers… she could be persuaded to sell “the tank” (the cars loving nickname). Maybe?? She actually loves it. yeah she’s 77.. the car hasn’t gone above 55mph in 10 years. not a scratch anywhere.. rims are perfect! This car is maintained and goes into the Mercedes dealership once a year never with anything wrong.. we just always have things checked when first moving back.. she hires someone to drive it about 5 miles once a week while she’s gone so it doesn’t sit and poo itself. The maintenance receipts are stored in a 3 ring binder according to date. My Dad was a fast car fiend..and kept great records.
@@andrewa5077 why yes. I just took some pics of it as I was just in Palm Springs. It has just under 18k miles on it since new. My mom interested in selling both cars there as she’s selling the house. I brought it into the dealership to make sure everything is still in perfect running order even though there has never been a single light to show up on the dash in its life. Dealership visit came back with no tics. The air suspension was replaced on 2 wheels back in 2015. No scratches on the car what so ever.. no scratches on rims. It has every factory package but the Bose stereo.
Back in the day I wanted to buy a used C63 or even a 996 turbo. But the cost of parts, complexity and the known pattern failures held me back. I need to watch more of your vids. It still seems difficult to own and maintain one without tons of money. You're the only real wrencher who gives me hope of buying a well used German anything! +Legitstreetcars
Don't forget the SBC control module/pump assembly will time-out (due to age) and must be replaced. The newer ones do not have the (time-out) software code in them.
LegitStreetCars Wisely done! Enjoy that wonderful machine for all of us who can merely dream of having one for us! A gem of an engine, and awesome driving enjoyment!
I like the SBC ‘brake by wire’ system. I have a 2005 E350 (among the first built in Feb. 2005). It’s done only 109,000 km but is now 19 years old. Does the 2005 SBC time-out after a pre-defined number of brake pedal pushes?
@@Michael.Chapman It times out after a pre-determined number of time the pump cycles. Mercedes has extended the warranty again for those SBC hydraulic units.
@@roadwarrior144 thank you-appreciate that info! I think that here in Australia MB mightn’t provide any extended SBC warranty, and understand replacement is very expensive when that time comes-we also miss out on MB help with the balance shaft issue in the M272 V6.
Hnnnnnggg. I've recently fallen in love with the E55 and you pretty much have the exact spec I'd want. Strong color like black or white, lip spoiler, fancy seats and the sunroofs are a must. Also those wheels are pure porn. I personally would go for a louder exhaust, maybe a butterfly valve will fix that.
I have a 2003 E320 and I love the fact that the E55 looks identical to it becuase I love the classic look of these cars. I’m definitely going to look into the e55 as a future care
I had the pleasure of intimately experiencing the pre-facelift 300E and a post-facelift E420. They're glorious cars. The V8 would lay rubber really well while both were genuine highway cruisers.
AMGmeister you two have the best E55 channels as far as information I subscribed to both, I'm an Aesthetics guy so when I get mine my channel will be about exterior mods mostly.
I do upholstery for living with a friend. I don't sew but I rebuild foam and take factory seat covers off. blown air bag replacements. passenger foam can be used on driver. if you need panel replaced by junkyard back seat cover it has factory material. headliners are breeze remove 2 front seats fold head liner like taco.
I want to buy one of them this year. I done a lot of reaserch about that car and year 2003 is not a good year to buy it. Till 2006 this car had a lot of issues . The best year to buy this car is from 2006. The moust important things you need to check before buying one is the breaking system th3 SPC pump is bad suspension better put a normal one instead of Airmatic and kompressor pulley bearing. Those three things are a must to check before buying one.
Love it but my dream car is 06 CL65 amg i want a monster of a car. E55 too slow for my taste ive driven both the CL65 and the E55 ihave to say the SL65 is the fastest. Half a block away from a light that turned yellow and punched it and passed the light as it was going red.
Mostly everything on this car can be done at home with basic tools, I think most people who buy this car are "car people" so they don't mind doing the work themselves or have friends that can help
Joshua Meares very true I've had a 04 cl55 Amg and currently have a 06 cls55 AMG easy cars to work parts aren't bad and a smaller supercharger pulley and ecu muffler delete wicked sound and super fast

yea, it is not as highly optioned as yours (was looking at a 06 with all the option with 76k, sold before i pulled the trigger.) but it does have the push start button and key-less go entry. sent you a pm man.
Happened across one of your videos last night, about 6 hours ago, and can't stop watching. Wish you had one one my new purchase, a 2018 Infiniti Q50sRedsport as you make your video's so much better than the one's I'm currently having to watch with limited success and enjoyment. A+ keep it up and you will continue to blow up far more than you already have, head and shoulders above 99.9% of similar feeds.
If I want to start working on cars in my garage whats the best route to go in terms of a car jack? That system he has looks fantastic but I'm sure it costs way more than I'm willing to spend on a jack
S J i got a 2 column lift brand new for 1000 euros. It is a manual, so you have to pull a cord to unlock the safety every time you want to lower the lift. For hobby use that's perfectly fine. Ones that do that automaticly where 500 extra. For that money i'll pull the cord lol. Had to put it up myself but that was actually pretty easy. If you work on cars you are perfectly able to do it yourself in 2 or 3 hours and should have all the tools. Having someone to help does make your life a lot easier though. Best investment i ever made. Don't bother with used ones for a hobby garage honestly
Yes They are surprisingly affordable. I actually found one on Craigs List for FREE just had to go pick it up from someone’s yard who was moving. My friend was able to fit it in his 2 car garage with added height roof mods.
Awesome, this car is luxurious, sporty, fast sedan, still nice comfortable ride, considering it is a performance sedan , and needs to be stiff. Pumping seats, cooled or heated, what a deal you guys have in the US. I saw a video of a guy buying the old W220 facelifted S 63AMG for some funny ammount, maybe 5500$ or s.th like that. He got issues, engine light, but it was still not bad condition, for about 8K he got it sorted and it was driving and working. The e class you got, even better, not too large, so easier for fun around corners, still comfy and great.
And the rims are really beautiful, some people put on ice looking rims, expensive too, but they just don't match their car good. These rims look great on that black sedan. I don't remember if you said s.th about the tail/brake lights, when i saw the whole video last time, but I see these are the LED ones, which come standard on the facelifted W211s. This one being 2003 had it replaced, or maybe the AMG came with it, but they also make the rear more modern looking. The headlights are not that different when facelifted, mainly the bumper, and this car has AMG bumpers, so it is great. I like it even better looking at it again. It is a ton of car for the money, does everything you need from a car.
@@azmike3572 in austria this car will cost you at least 300€ motor tax per month( for the massive bhp) then you have to get gas, wgich is currently at 1.50€ :(( how much are taxes and insurence in the us ?

In the U.S. they depreciate so fast, no one wants to pay BIG MONEY to repair them often.. More people drive Japanese and American cars - they break less and more reliable. Cheaper to fix than Euro garbage.

wait till you see my friends 94 c class . original paint and not one scratch
thats what I do with the E90, E92 series bmw's I love em and they are so fkn cheap.
Absolutely stunning car...worth double what you paid.. Great job!
11,300 but doing all the work yourself! For the average person the labour charges would raise the price a lot. Lovely car though.
A lot of the work hes done is easy and can be done in your garage with common hand tools
@@dev894 hey guys chrisfix here 😂
I have an 06 E350.
Literally one of the best car channels on UA-cam. Knowledgeable... Excellent presentation... You can tell he genuinely loves cars. Hope he jumps in subscribers cause he's doing it right.
Thanks so much. Really appreciate that.

One of my favorite cars, really. The rims look great btw. Congrats on a nice ride.

Wait, what? We're living in some sort of alternate reality where American cars aren't absolutely shite?
Love it. Similar story myself. Minus a near catrostrophic failure 6weeks post purchase it's an absolute performance bargain!

As a major BMW fan these are king of the highway. After riding in one on a road trip a few years back I'm sold. Absolute beast of a car
This channel is a breath of fresh air.
Love these cars! Driving one is what got me hooked on AMGs. Ended up buying an E63 AMG and a CLK63 AMG Black Series as a result.
Mitch Farner damn you must have money to spare! The cheapest clk63 I've found is 60k

E55 OMG :) This is timeless design. Practically the only Merc I ever salivated after, and still do. And the commands table is unbeatable. Give me those simple no nonsense air vents and I'm all down for business.
nice video! finally someone who knows what hes doing....
I had a w211, a w164 and a w221. now im in a ford F150 but will have another mb soon :)
If your radio ever craps out I have an original one from my w211 with cassette player ill ship to you for free its just wasting space in my garage. was stupid because i had upgraded to a cd/nav comand head unit i bought from some dude in lithuania and it worked just fine but i left it in when I traded it.
the 2003-09 E class is sooo beautiful!!! I used to drive the AMG version all the time in Need for speed!!
congrats, got mine in 2011 and love it, bang for the buck an awesome car, only down side was the stereo, after upgrading that it's been very good to me
Finally a legit car channel!! So why the e55 amg over e63 amg? Someone please!!
Johan Cervantes Price , engine reliability mainly. Also a lot easier to make faster
I have a C55 same motor just N/A and a few different internals higher compression and no supercharger and plan to pull my m113 and drop in a m1113k (E55) Motor. I was quoted $8k full complete swap and they are providing the motor and anything else needed still being able to pass emissions.
C55 is more reliable ( less E class crap that can break)
C55 is 600lbs lighter but really will come out to 500lbs with added S/C
E55 is 4000-42000lbs Each car will make 700HP and torque with simple mods as explained in this video.
I was not overly impressed when I drove the E55 or overwhelmed like people make it out to be, stcok these two run a 13.1 and 12.8 1/4 mile
jUST WANTED TO ADD SOME INPUT, The E55 in maintained condition even with 200k miles will drive like new and provide you with insane 500 hp. I can't understand why they are so cheap?
Cody G awesome man that's exactly what I needed to know, can't wait to buy one myself.
I iwsh I saw your post 3 months ago. skipped a clean c55 for sale since there isn't much info on them.
I have the Dynamic seats in my E500 Sport. They don’t seem to be working but the lights come on. I know the driver side worked for a minute when I bought the car. Any suggestions as to a fix or issue? Thanks so much
Coming from a BMW owner and not a big Mercedes fan, this car looks really nice
WoW, I love the sound of that powerful V8!. I have a 06 CL55 and it's still my most favorite car to drive. I will never part with it.

Thanks for opening my mind about this car !
Beautiful car man. New subscriber and enjoying all your content.
Where do you live so I can bring my car and take advantage of your Mech skills and your lift? Thanks, sincerely your shitty future friend.
I'm already impressed when you have a lift in your garage!

From all garage or car lovers channel, this is the best.
You still got this thing?
@@andrewa5077 why yes. I just took some pics of it as I was just in Palm Springs. It has just under 18k miles on it since new. My mom interested in selling both cars there as she’s selling the house. I brought it into the dealership to make sure everything is still in perfect running order even though there has never been a single light to show up on the dash in its life. Dealership visit came back with no tics. The air suspension was replaced on 2 wheels back in 2015. No scratches on the car what so ever.. no scratches on rims. It has every factory package but the Bose stereo.
Gorgeous car! This generation E-Class is hands down the best one, certainly on my "car bucket list"
Love that car i wish it was in my garage as a daily driver. Those wheels match it perfectly
Now this is a good car channel seems like you know your stuff
Congradulations I just picked up a cherry cherry 2005 sl500 0 issues 1 owner with 31033 miles on it. Loving it.
Robert Mintun It was replaced in 2015 about 10k miles ago
I could have saved 20k and get this instead of a charger 😩
More power and still get better gas mileage lol
I think you might of spent that 20k on repairs though (laughs).

Hnnnnnggg. I've recently fallen in love with the E55 and you pretty much have the exact spec I'd want. Strong color like black or white, lip spoiler, fancy seats and the sunroofs are a must. Also those wheels are pure porn. I personally would go for a louder exhaust, maybe a butterfly valve will fix that.
mazdarati2 Wait for the next mod video.I'll need everyone's help on what to do and what everyone wants to see
That’s about he cleanest E55 I’ve seen hands down. My favorite Mercedes.
I have a 2003 E320 and I love the fact that the E55 looks identical to it becuase I love the classic look of these cars. I’m definitely going to look into the e55 as a future care
DAMN, that's a good looking interior! I have a 2017 BMW 2 series and I wish I had one of these :(
Ya its pretty nice especially considering its age

great vid man. i'm jealous of the Benz and your mechanical prowess. Enjoy it!
that might be my next car too...
currently driving a black W124 400E ( V8)
You won't be disappointed. It doesn't have the W124 bank vault/armored car feel, exactly, but it's a lot more car than the W124...
The French Traveler You already have a beautiful car. Love the W124:s😊😊
if you already have a w124 with a v8 in it then do 5.4l kompressor swap and you have my dream car there absolute sleeper
I had the pleasure of intimately experiencing the pre-facelift 300E and a post-facelift E420. They're glorious cars. The V8 would lay rubber really well while both were genuine highway cruisers.
We had a red 300e with its own brick telephone. I recently sold my 97 E420 and upgraded to a 2014 e350 coupe. They are all lovely cars.
You deserve all the KUDOS Man, Your knowledge is thru the roof.

You got 1 HELL of a deal on this car!! I'm jealous! I was looking for one for 3-4 months and could only find them around 15-18k.
Love the car!
I was expecting a big v8 roar for that cold start 😂
Needs straight pipes 😂
Very cool find! Must be one of only a few W211s with all those features.
Congrats on the car! Looking forward to more videos on your E55. It's a twin screw blower, not roots btw.
AMGmeister you two have the best E55 channels as far as information I subscribed to both, I'm an Aesthetics guy so when I get mine my channel will be about exterior mods mostly.
I can't believe how many times I watch reruns of your E55. I'm getting one (and a 320 CDI for the daily commute) as soon as I relocate in the USA.
Wow, that's a 2003? It looks mint!
Those wheels are 🔥🔥🔥
I bought the 06 CLS55 AMG in January this year. It has the same engine. I love the V8 power.
Is that the 5 spd or the 7 spd?
@@aaronstarkey3271 5 speed also has the small shift buttons on the steering wheel.
@@ask4george1 good. The 7spd to my knowledge was notorious for failure. I'll look into the CLS! Thanks!
The E’s of that era were beautiful. Add the AMG touch and it gets even better. Great video!
I approve the sunroof idea. It is worth searching for it. Adds a lot of enjoyment to the car.
Whats with the fast forward thru repair work; that's the most important part. Hows the Sensotronic Brake Control working??'

If I want to start working on cars in my garage whats the best route to go in terms of a car jack? That system he has looks fantastic but I'm sure it costs way more than I'm willing to spend on a jack
Sam You'd be surprised how cheap the lift. Full garage review coming
+LegitStreetCars Sounds good. Did you get it online or in store? A link to the one you got would be awesome if possible.
Totally agree. Its the perfect size, I absolutely love it.
Thanks for watching
Alex
In all MERCEDES, if you Accelerate Fast, it shifts slow.

I know right. In Australia they're about $30,000
Bruh please in my country it's still around $40-50k 😂😂
In netherlands 35/40k
In the U.S. they depreciate so fast, no one wants to pay BIG MONEY to repair them often.. More people drive Japanese and American cars - they break less and more reliable. Cheaper to fix than Euro garbage.
The 211 is one of the best looking Mercedes's ever. Especially when it's an AMG. Beautiful car! I'm one step short to looking for an E55 now..
