"Back in your day"? Most people still learn what's super effective against what. The fanbase is arguable more informed on technical aspects of the game than ever before. Putting if a move is effective or not probably has more to do with streamlining for newer players, because for a new player now there is tons and tons of info you'd need to learn; far more than even a few years ago.

Munchboy22 I'm one of those people who hates Pokemon elitists who talk crap about the newer players compared to the older ones (or how gen 1/2 is the best and the others are crap), and I must say, most people I know who played the older games as well played like that. It has more to do with how long you've been playing the series, not which generation you started in or anything like that.

Watching in 2019. This was a great year for Nintendo. The hype for Pokémon SM, BOTW, and then the Nintendo Switch at the end of the year was CRAZY.

It's really cool watching the Alola culture legitimately pray to pokemon they deem powerful deities. That's new.
There was a Pokémon church in Sinnoh. Which makes sense with the games respective legendaries being gods.

Wouldn't it be a nice little treat for long time fans if Wes Rui and Michael make small little surprise guest appearances? or at the very least just a small little reference to them that only long time fans would catch onto? They dont have to do anything about Shadow Pokemon or anything like that. (because GameFreak has made it painfully clear that they dont want to do anything with The ??? type and Shadows. even though their the ones who created them in the first place. but whatever i guess. right?) But i mean come on! Its the 20th anniversary AND they havent given us 3D models in such a long time! But this is just one fans opinions hopes and dreams. what about you?

I think every Pokemon player has wished at some point that Pokemon could be real, and I want to watch a smaller Pokemon fight a Wailord in real life.

Well, if you've noticed, they've made remakes in order of the game's releases. Red & green, gold & silver, Ruby & sapphire.

Freaking love. I want this game so bad. It's SO hard to wait this long. I already chose my starter and it's going to be Litten. I'm going to be getting a cable to connect to my 3DS in the meantime so I can record the gameplay during that time and am so excited! Hopefully Nintendo won't flag me for playing the game and putting it on youtube. I just want people to enjoy this game as much as I do. Pokemon has been a major part of my life since it came out. I've played just about every single game they've made and I will always be a huge fan. Thank you, everyone in Nintendo for making the games you've thrown at us throughout the years. I will forever be your loyal gamer.

I doubt that. I would have agreed before but because of the fact that they actually talked about Zelda it is a much bigger deal right now. There was no new info on Zelda for a long time and so people didn't really talk about it for a while.
Literally just less than 30% of people cared about Pkmn throughout the day, I enjoyed it, but Zelda was the highlight, it doesn't matter which one you like the most, the fact is that Zelda was the one who grabbed the attention.
Why are people bothered by the effectiveness display??? If you already know what's strong/weak against what then what does it matter if it's there? If you don't know, then you do now. It's a win/win.
I do agree completely. I will say though, one of my friends brought up a good point, in that it does spoil the typing of a new pokemon before you catch them.

+ex Lightning Based on the size of Zygarde Perfect Forme relative to the trainer they are probably going to scale down very large Pokémon. To this day, the only games that allow you to laugh at how huge Wailord is compared to other Pokémon are Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon XD, and PBR.
A shame, really. Fighting two Wailords at the same time in Colosseum was hilariously amazing.

The graphics are so good and the story looks even better than ever! You could even see people watching the battle in the background and you can see the trainer when you battle. It's brilliant and amazing!

I really hate how people are bashing the game over designs and hand holdy issues. I understand that, but why can't people just at least be grateful we're actually getting another Pokémon game this year? Pokémon could one day pull the card and say they're done making video games. They added all these new features, but they can't fix the trolling GTS with everyone asking for Event only Pokemon.
Add in an Expert mode that remove EXP Share , higher level Pokemon, and type warning then people will love it again.

I think it was to hide the entry, as the website states that yungoos was brought to alola to control the population of a "certain pokemon". Yungoos' entry probably stated that pokemon by name and they wanted to keep it a secret.

I really like the new view when walking around, it's a nice change from the normal top-down view

I had that mentality also and was sooo down for Moon but I had the opposite reaction to Lunaala. It's not bad just Solgaleo looked better to me.

No, it's new. Before this, the Y button didn't do anything during battle. ... Actually, I don't think it does anything outside of battle either.
+cutecat2345 Yeah, it does. You can register key items for quick access outside of battle. You can use Y and the D-pad to bring out items without digging through the bag. It's been there since Gen 5, I believe.

Coming off of playing Super Mystery Dungeon, the "Type-effectiveness" thing didn't feel like it detracted from the gameplay at all. It actually helped because it took abilities into account as well.

I highly doubt it's full-on fusion. That would be far too difficult to have that many "fusion" models AND mega models.
It's more likely that it's some sort of "bond" powerup like in the anime.
If they do fusion it will probably be with select pokemon like megas
+Aero I'm going with ragegamingvideos theory that each Pokemon game has coincided with whatever the professor is researching, so the bracelets will allow you to power up a specific move, a burst move if you will, since kukui is researching Pokemon moves. Look up his video for better explain

The downside is that once the first person loses all of their pokemon the battle ends and the victor is determined based on the amount of pokemon every has left. So it can't really come down to last one standing.

Starters often learn a move that has no relation to their type. Charmander gets a dragon move and turtwig a water, just a few I can think of
And Banette can learn dazzling gleam, almost every psychic can learn shadow ball. Off-type moves are an important part of a lot of movesets.
But yeah, My money's on water/fairy for popplio.
That is true, but that's just me voicing my hopes for a Fairy/Water Type Popplio Evo. It may be a hint, who knows. But we will have to wait and see.
By examining the source on the Japanese Pokemon website people have found the "Fighting" icon coded into (but not displayed on) Popplio's page, as well as the "Ground" icon in Litten's. The final types are likely going to be Grass/Flying, Fire/Ground, and Water/Fighting.
