ngl i loved this scene the most, out of all the other early episodes.
Luffy giving Nami his hat in that moment is a bigger moment than the initial Super Saiyan transformation for me. It hits SO hard. That and just Chopper screaming Robin's name when she decides she wants to live are both S tier emotional moments for me.

i knew nothing about one piece, but my dad was watching the show and i joined him in the middle of the baratie arc, and then we ended up watching a good chunk of the show within a month or so. we ended up stopping around the middle of the dressrosa arc (episode 600-something iirc??) because the pacing got atrocious, and while i did watch past the arc in my own time, i still need to catch up to the latest arc...

@@A.psychedelic.hood-rainbow Alabasta arc ends at episode 130. Watch it fully. Alabasta arc shows how awesome one piece can truly be. If you don't like alabasta then I don't think one piece is something you would enjoy. Even people who are caught up on one-piece still consider alabasta arc one of their favourites

Literally just read up to this moment in one piece. It has not changed my opinion. It was just a little better than the stuff I found boring.

Im a weird one cuz my first exposure to one piece was the manga in shonen jump. I loved it so much, but when the anime came out (both) I was so disappointed in every voice cast for Luffy and the animation/color style chosen for the show, that I dropped the series all together.
It feels like a Junji Ito situation where there the original anime just didn't understand how to adapt the original manga art style and it just looks cheep and wrong. But that's a personal opinion of mine.

That. That's the issue. Thats the reason I can't take this topic seriously. It should NOT take 40 episodes for someone to know if a show is going to be for them.
He said this is where it goes from good to great, meaning the first 37 is not just a waste of time or just straight up trash; it's still a good watch.
Im on chapter 70 and i dont know if its for me. The Sanji arc was torturous to get thorugh and so far the only one ive enjoyed was Usopp. Maybe Arlong will make me interested, but with the other mangas ive read i was hooked waaaaay earlier. By ch 70 of JJK i was eating every bit of it up
