I read a comment somewhere that said “Gojo and Geto are soulmates. Whether romantic or platonic, they’re soulmates” and I think that sums it up perfectly
There r so many similarities between their relationship and asheiji in banana fish its actually starting to make sense why jjk fans chose the exact same song for satosugu as asheiji (Mr. Loverman)
Ya’ll can look this up too if you want, but yeah, they’re right. In the fanbook, Gege says he likes and was even inspired by(a) mangaka(s) known for BL.
Legit need a CW for Banana Fish at this point, cuz it's a stab the heart every time I see clips from that anime. And Bro had the AUDACITY to also show Ash when he got shanked 😭😭
technically speaking, we don't know if he died in the anime. i mean, sure he got stabbed, but he also got shot so many times, i just refuse to believe he died by a stab ngl. also, in the official banana fish site all the dead characters are in grey (if i remember correctly), but ash isn't, so to me he's alive and in japan with Eiji
@@dumbdumeggin the manga, it’s canon that ash dies but in the anime adaptation I believe the producers wanted the ending to be slightly different than the manga. They wanted it so that the ending would be up for interpretation (ex. Ash showing up in the intro clutching his chest at night when he was stabbed in the morning-afternoon) also, in the manga it’s mentioned that when he got stabbed it missed all of his vital organs making him bleed slowly to death in the library
Also Geto leaves behind one of his buttons from his school uniform blouse for Gojo. It’s common for Japanese highschool boys to give their crushes the second button on their blouse on graduation. It’s a romantic gesture, because it’s the button closest to the heart. Since this is getting a bit of attention here are some other facts about Satsugou that have romantic implications! 1. Gege specifically named their characters Gojo Saturo and Geto Suguru because he wanted them to match. 2. Along with that, after Geto defects from jujustu tech he wears a monk outfit. Gege has stated that he chose this outfit because its named ‘gojou’ and he liked that is was similar to Gojo’s name. 3. Geto and Gojo can be seen riding a bike together. This is illegal in Japan and a common trope in Japanese romance. Probably because there’s something romantic about breaking laws to be with the person you love. 4. The opening to the inventory arc is a love song. Since Japanese has multiple words for expressing different kinds of love, it’s interesting the artist specifically choose to use the word for romantic love. 5. Gege gave all of their characters theme songs. And for Gojo one he choose was “Shame on Me” by Aviici. A song about lamenting how the narrator can’t stop loving someone and not being able to live without them. And for Geto, the song is “Come Back Home” by Two Door Cinema Club. The title is very self explanatory but the song is about the grief of a relationship drifting apart but the narrator is still willing and open, waiting for their person to come back to them. 6. Gojo could have easily tracked down Geto for those ten years he was out committing crimes, but didn’t. He couldn’t bring himself to capture him or kill him himself. 7. In movie 0, after Yuta and Inumaki defeat the curses in the mall, Gojo arrives and he recognises Geto has been there and he knows by smell alone. Meaning he didn’t search for cursed energy, he remembers Geto’s scent well enough to pick it up immediately. 8. Even dead and his body possessed by kenjaku, Geto still lingers to stop Kenjaku from hurting Gojo. 9. Movie 0’s big theme is love, this can be seen between Rika and Yuta, but also for Gojo and Geto. It’s heavily implied right before Geto died, Gojo found him and said something that can only be seen mouthed, and it’s very clearly “I love you.” (Little edit to this, it might not be I love you, but either the eng or jap VA for Gojo has said it’s a sentence with three words in English) 10. The 24th of December is considered the most romantic day of the year, which is the day Gojo and Geto reunited for the war. As well, if I remember correctly, the day they had their KFC break up. Thanks for reading, and happy day to all satsugou fans!! :]
@@alejandrohernandez8427 It’s chapters 77 and 78. Getos button is only focused on in the anime so you should go look for it in the tail end of the inventory arc. After geto destroys the village, he leaves behind the button, which principal Yaga then gives it to Gojo.

God i just rewatched hunterxhunter and i will cry for killua and gon. Gon's all that killua had, he means so much to him and the fact that all gon wanted to do after completing his life goal and meeting his father was to introduce killua to him... they care so much for each other its too much for my weak ah heart to handle.
He is a very charming and cocky character. They usually flirt with everyone. But idk, the serious moments between them and him getting a little less cocky near geto is giving thats his favorite
The people in the comments saying “guys can’t be friends anymore???” Are missing the point because obviously, yes, they can. That’s not the point of the ship. There are many things that people take into consideration between shipping them, and not everyone sees the connection between gojo and geto the same. Some think they were in love, some think they were friends. Let people have their head canons, and you can have yours. It’s up for debate, but all in all, don’t get so pressed about it. It’s an anime, not a life or death situation.

"They're good friends!!" "Can two men not be friends anymore?" Be so for real right now. Canon or not, media is up to interpretation unless the author confirms something directly. If you think they're friends, it's fine, just stop putting people down just because you don't like the idea of shipping. They're just 2D images, it's not that deep. Notice how even if confirmed, ships DON'T NEED TO BE CANON. Even if they ARE confirmed to be just friends (which is the case) that doesn't mean you can't ship them freely
Nah I just think yall are weirdos with boring personalities, if you guys had anything at all interesting to add to the fandom you would instead of just making creepy ships of fictional minors
I find that line of thinking so funny(cosmic, sad), because hardly ANYBODY bats an eye when the same thing happens to two opposite gender/sex characters… I’m normally all for pushing back against amatonormativity, but man, people do NOT keep that energy when it’s a straight relationship… kinda suspicious…

I don’t understand why some people are so vehemently against this ship since its not like either of these two characters have a deep meaningful romantic relationship with any of the female cast. I dont blame shippers for latching onto them since shonen authors famously make the most interesting and nuanced relationships between two male characters (ex: naruto and sasuke) Personally, I think some guys who see themselves in gojo and getos relationships dont accept any gay or romantic subtext a reader might interpret for fear of being gay by association for liking these characters, some classic internalized homophobia and insecurity
They barely have any female characters in jjk it's a fighting anime, that's why 😭 there isn't meant to be any romance AT ALL really, Gojo and Geto have both shown interest in females. The reason why people hate this ship is because of how sexualised, fetishised and romanticised male friendships have become in new gen anime, it's gross, people cannot keep their dirty fantasies off characters from anime that are USUALLY fighting and NOT romance based, it's fine if ppl go and watch/read bl or whatever and ship it, that's chill, that's the point, you're meant to ship it there, but to force it onto characters who are trying to represent close intimate male friendships is gross and just an annoying thing to do?
I think it’s either jealous women, insecure men, or just people who are fearful of the my hero academia phenomenon 😂 And mostly because a lot of their shippers are hetro women who imma tell you they are saying the absolute weirdest shit that makes almost think that they turned it into another fugoshi ship instead of taking it as a tragic love story
@@ZamasuWife people ship female and male leads all the time in shonen, even with characters who show no interest in each other (see gojo x utahime) are those people indulging in their dirty sexual fantasies about male and female friendships? Star trek is a space epic but it still had its fair share of shippers, you will never stop people from interpreting art in a way they enjoy. if you wanna see gojo and geto as just friends you are free to do so just as other people are free to view their relationship in a more romantic way, its not “fetishizing male friendship” its just how some people interpret events and its ultimately harmless.

Yes thank you for this, i cant believe these people are saying they didint see anything romantic between these and then go ship gojo w utahime... Be for real. If any of them were female they would have 0 problems shipping them and sexualising the female one. Honestly disgusting.
Nah, i hate geto, even if he was a human she would not be likable to me, I really don't get Geto's character, he became a racist (ableist is more accurate because he discriminates based on people's abilities) because a person of that group killed a friend of his, who was also part of that group, and because some people tortured teo little girls that are part of his own group of people. I get it for the twins, but the first girl was a non sorcerer, so it hypocritical to hate them all, toji maybe has no cursed energy but he is basically a sorcerer because for the heavenly restriction to exist you lose something you would be born with. Sorry for the spam that probably makes no sense but lets not pretend that Geto would be adore by everyone if they were a woman, maybe in nsfw content.
Nope its frankly this mindset that makes people hesitant to call this a ship: you label people you disagree with as terrible people (which may or may not lead to you or people who agree with you to harass said people). You see this a lot in hoyo games where at one point, people send death threats to an artist who depict a straight ship. When some folks are so fanatical in their belief, where for them, any interaction be it positive or negative is "clear evidence they are lovers" you start to immediatly question it. Note that this isn't unique to gay ships but the rabid fury to which some people press their ships on to others is uniquely towards same sex shipping. If there was someone who goes to sucu lengths for a straight shipping, they clearly need to be criticizes and laughed at too.

It is really all up to your own interpretation tbh, canonically theyre obv not in a relationship but Gege never outright goes "youre not allowed to ship them" so people can do n believe wtv they want
It could be read both ways, but I genuinely think that you have to be incredibly dense to not see the romantic subtext People will argue that they just call each other "best friends" but would ship them inmediately if one of them was the opposite gender
I totally see them as siblings on my part, they have a deep bond as friends and I really love that for them. But if ever geto was a girl, I wouldn't ship them directly unless they have more scenes that implement that. From what I could feel and see from them , is that they are like siblings.
Ive always found it fascinating that ehenever 2 guys are close people say "Well why cant 2 guys be just friends it doesn't have to be gay!" People rely on yhis all the time to dismiss the very notion that these characters might not be straight, as if that'd make them lesser or something
and on top of that, it's literally not that deep. two guys can be friends, and straight, and still shipped together because it's all fanon fiction, having fun with the source material. let me repeat it: IT'S NOT THAT DEEP. two guys being shipped, regardless of whether they're canonically gay or not, is NOT THAT DEEP™. it's just saying, oh i like the dynamic, let me make headcannons and content around it. nothing more, nothing less.
Yes correct, but here is the problem, some of you guys could be so hell bent on thinking that it's real, causing you to actually fight over people who thinks that it's not, like I commend you for having an eagle eye view on this, this is just fictional and all but like I said some of you are literally harassing people who thinks it's not. Just by googling images of them from the show, i believed they were boyfriends...i was really disappointed to find out theyre just "best friends". The chemistry is there even on google images ;-;
So being the sceptic I am, I did some sleuthing and these are my findings… Yeah it’s pretty legit that Gege reads yaoi and LGBT+ manga and may have been inspired by it (Kirara for example could very well be inspired by Gege reading wandering son for example). He’s drawn fanart for a BL that a Japanse Twitter user translated to: Black feathers in the heart of love’ (The translation of the title might be off and it might not be available in English, please keep that in mind). Gege also mentioned liking work from Tomoko Yamashito, who writes pretty much exclusively yaoi. The work Gege likely referred to which he liked is ‘The night behind the tricorned window’, which is a yaoi, though apparently the romance is more subtle. (At least that’s what I came to think after my findings). He also in the same interview mentions Takako Shimura, who in turn is famous for writing LGBT+ topics. ‘Sweet blue flowers’ is a manga of Takako’s which focuses on the relationship between young women and is a yuri manga. Takako also wrote the manga ‘Wandering son’ which focuses on transgender characters discovering their gender identity and coming out. Finding this information wasn’t super hard but not super easy either.

Relationships are never as simple and clear-cut as friends vs partners. Gojo and Geto's relationship is especially so. I do think their relationship could have gone beyond what they were if they had not experienced a certain Toji Fushiguro. But because of the downfall of Geto and the ascension of Gojo, they could never connect the same way again. I personally am ok with whatever headcanons people think the relationship between geto and gojo are. Be it platonic soulmates, bffs, romantic (personally biased towads romantic just due to how it adds an extra level of gut punch to their entire situation) or just really good friends. Heck, i met someone who headcanoned gojo as besing aroace, which i found really interesting! My personal opinion is that everyone is bisexual until proven otherwise. (mostly just joking here, but i tend to be ok with any ships due to the fact i dont really label any characters with any sexuality) I personally think the only ships i will ever hate are the ones that, 1. Are blatantly illegal. 2. They are related wtf. 3. This is way too toxic for me to not be moderately disturbed by. Tldr: live and let live when it comes to ships, as long as they are legal lol. People can believe whatever in terms of headcanons and fighting about it gets us nowhere.
I completely agree! As long as a ship is safe, sane and consensual, I have no issue with a ship! Whether it's a straight ship, or a gay ship, that doesn't matter at all, it's an art form at the end of the day and is completely up to interpretation. In English, we're quite limited with how we express love. We only have one word for it, is what I mean. So, in English terms. Geto and Gojo love each other. You can see how such a statement is limited. Love is love, like seriously, is it that weird to just accept that they love each other, whether you interpret that as platonic or romantic? The only time I get annoyed with shipping is when people start to force their opinions on others. I personally just don't mind what others ship. So what, their opinion is different to mine? Of course it is! They're not the same person as I am. It makes me sad that shipping itself is tarred with the same brush as people who send death threats to people who don't ship the same ship as they do. (For example, I recieved threats and a lot of insults in the Voltron fandom back in the day.) Bisexual until proven otherwise is an amazing statement and I shall use that more often haha.
I don't get why people are so agressive over ships tbh, like cmon, scroll or ignore and live your best life. People will ship anything and anyone, that's what fandom and internet is. If you see them as friends, great, that's valid. You see them as a couple? Good on you. It doesn't matter as much people think.
I always tell people who ask me to describe the relationship that it's "not romantic, not platonic, but a secret third thing" and they seem to get it every time so lmao
Nah, they're just homies. Strong friendships can look like that at times, but they are simply that, a friendship. Them being friends actually works better than being lovers; friends don't want you to fuck up, lovers don't want you to leave them.
Dude, I'm concerned for your romantic relationships if you genuinely think that wanting your parner to stay with you even if leaving would be better in every way for them 💀
@@unlimon6382 I believe you might've misinterpreted my comment. I am not saying that lovers always want that or that they should feel that way, I am saying that in this particular case that would be what a lover would feel and storytelling wise it doesn't fit the narrative of this specific situation.
@@rev3062I believe I can't stress this point enough, but given the narrative I know it might be confusing. If Geto and Gojo were lovers, their dynamic would be slightly different to the point it may ruin it (especially with how Gege treats his characters, if being just friends ended up the way it did I can't even begin to imagine what would've happened if they were lovers). As I said, Gojo and Geto work better as friends because of the sheer selfless concern friends have for each other, in this situation a lover would still feel that way but the feeling of being left alone would also be stronger which could damage or alter in a negative way their dynamic (just as much as it could improve it). gege is a literal BL fan, i dont know how people actually ship gojo and utahime together?? lol also yeah, the thing, _'they're just good friends..!!!'_ no. like please, i think the people who say that are probably not observant. in Japan, romance is obviously shown in different ways, there are a lot, like the bike sharing and much more. go on, argue with me if you want but it's all true:3
Well, they are fictional characters. You can ship them with anyone, unless it's wrong (minors, I say) for example, I ship gojo and utahime because of their dynamics, it doesn't matter if it's canon or not. So it's ok!
It's funny how the people who actually ship them romantically are ok with them being shipped as friends or non romantic partners, but those who don't ship them don't want others to ship them aswell. It's a you problem if you think they shouldn't be shipped romantically. It's a YOU problem if one non problematic ship between two consenting adult characters destroys the whole show for you. It's literally fictional and people are allowed to ship them how ever they like. I've seen people shipping literal children with adults and no one has a problem, because it's hetero, but as soon as it's a gay ship between consenting ADULTS, they have a problem. Every other anime will have atleast one pedophilic ship, one incestuous ship, and one inbreeding ship, but no one says those ships destroyed the show for them. And don't bark about guys being sexualized, every woman, child, and animal is sexualized everywhere and men are ok, but as soon as guys get the same treatment you all have a problem.
IRONIC how same fing thing happened to my hero academia when in it's peek in popularity and people were saying todoroki loved deku or deku lover bakugo etc and you know how that went

@@Annie-wy5mc I'm not trying to invalidate ur experience bc this does happen, but don't cishet anime shippers do this too? It's not limited to just people who ship queer ships btw
I see why people think that, but I don’t really believe it. A lot of the things usually used as examples can be taken different ways, and I think there’s usually a more likely explanation.
The reason why it cant be clear is japan is not welcoming of queer people and queer media. Even in america shows get roasted to flames for having queer characters. Thats why authors avoid queer representation and show them in subtext (i.e.) giving your first button and riding a bike together is a huge romance flag in anime and manga culture. Also one of the openings and one of the endings are definitely about gojo and getos perspective/feelings of each other. Even the director was shipping it 😂

Love and jujutsu is a theme that is always connected in jjk. I think gojo choosing the same day as geto's death was the confirmation that he really loved him . Sukuna, the biggest battle maniac said he alr3ady knew love well, a guy who is always fighting. I really think that Gojo choosed to not fight geto after he went crazy because he didn't want to show love to that geto. Of course, I don't think it is confirmed that is romantic love, I really think the author wanted to put that for our own interpretation and I would say it is more complex than simple romantic love, more like a dependency of two people destined to became monsters?
Theres also the ship sinker of a simple brotherly bond. The most telltale sign of this is the bickering and rivalry the two share, along with the lighthearted skinship. That comes off as more familial than romantic.
@@owentran7236 it kind is, it's sharing a bike. I did that so many times with alot of people. What? People can't share bikes? What's next, sharibg clothes is gay, i do that with my family all the time. Normalize not reaching.
@@Annie-wy5mcNormalize sitting down. Stfu. Why does the possibility of 2 fictional dudes being gay offend you so much? Maybe you're closeted, or just simply homophobic, you should really look into that one and do some inner work. This is about context. Stop taking this out of context to prove a non existent point.
@@Annie-wy5mc it’s about context and culture. First of all the same situation can have different meanings depending on a variety of things. A child can do things with others that would otherwise be considered romantic like giving them flowers or kissing them but obviously it’s different. Kids have a very limited understanding of social norms and naturally they can’t always see something that two adults see as romantic the same way. Also it’s about culture. Different cultures have different ideas of what is considered romantic. Two Italians kissing eachother on the cheek is normal greeting but in America that might be seen as romantic. In manga/anime bike sharing is seen as romantic but it can be different in other media from other countries. Also come on, if Geto was a woman would you seriously hear Gojo saying “my one and only” and interpret them as just being friends. In that case you’d be implying that men and women can’t be friends without having romantic tension. Now if you’d say “no, I wouldn’t see it as romantic”, okay cool, but recognize that A LOT of people would see it as such. Also, there’s nothing wrong if people want to read the relationship between them as romantic. You don’t have to feel the same way. You’re allowed to interpret media in your own way. I mean, it’s significantly better than coming to conclusions about a real life relationship. You know that there are freaks out there who would’ve seen you sharing a bike with your teenage friend and would’ve actually seen it as romantic, right? There are freaks that think kissing your siblings is weird and “inc*st”. All things considered, people thinking Gojo and Geto being romantically involved are leagues better than that.
I'm glad you brought this concept up cuz I feel like a lot of time people miss this stuff completely when they discuss character dynamics and only view romance through how theyre used to it being portrayed in western media.
istg yall here with the " guys can't be friends anymore " like yeah they can, but the thing is.. if geto is female, yall won't argue about it. conversely, gay people cant be gay without being called "just good friends". it goes both ways. let people interpret fictional characters how they want.
Is this your first fandom? If two male characters interact and aren't related, someone ships it very, very passionately. The more drama between them the better.
@@MyBroAteMyCookies It's perfectly acceptable for men to be intimate and close without being in a romantic or sexual relationship and people should be allowed to engage in that, I totally agree that people should be free to have that in their life without their sexuality being thrown into question. Anyone who says otherwise is frankly kind of an insecure freak and is probably projecting their own issues onto you. However, male platonic friendships happen all the time and hell I'm sure men lucky enough to have close friends like that will be the first to make the gay jokes (speaking from experience). But the moment people take it seriously with a fictional character a LOT of dudes become incredibly uncomfortable, people start taking it as an attack on their ability to have male heterosexual friendships, when it's really not about that at all. You can see that in this comments section. IDK why, maybe because society gears us dudes to be insecure about it? Because society makes a lot of men fear any emotional vulernability and intimacy when it's not towards a woman? It's all a load of nonsense and knee-jerky for me and it's not the fault of gay people, and its not the fault of shippers or fujoshi who ship hot anime men. It's just fiction and all in good fun and frankly not a big deal at the end of the day if some folks interpret fiction that way? Them shipping two men or two women is NEVER a statement that those two characters CAN'T be just close friends, that two people (fictional or not) of the same gender can't be just pals. Sure it does become a problem when people become militant about it, but that's a whole other can of worms. I also think there's just nothing wrong about being mistaken as gay. If someone has a problem with it, then they're jerks. I know it feels weird when people impose their ideas on a relationship onto you when its very much not-romantic (I've had that happen when I've been platonic friends with girls). It feels invasive and gross and suffocating. But I'm not going to let those weirdos decide how I feel about someone, and I sure as hell am not going to let their judgement affect how I present myself or how I choose open myself up emotionally. I think something important about being a man, or generally a well-rounded person is being secure enough to open up to others and allow yourself to be close and emotionally honest, even to other dudes, even in the face or irrational judgement, or presumptions on your orientation. These people aren't worth losing sleep over, theyre too stuck in their own heads and letting old biases rule their reasoning, they don't matter. (It actually also happens to gay people apparently? There's folks out there who think two gay men can't just be friends lmao) Again, they're the jerks. But there's also a world of difference between doing that to real people (which is gross), and doing that to a fictional character. TLDR: I promise you that shippers are not a threat to men being just pals with other men, your ability to do that is not under threat because of that. Anyone who says men can't just be friends with other men is frankly fucked in the head, but the shippers aren't those people. Sorry for all the yapping.
Gege has many themes about love and love can come in many forms. I feel there are many strong points especially the bike scene to lead into the romantic side. Yet when it comes to heartbreaks the worst is always the platonic ones. Either way they have and had the strongest bond! I love my tragic duo 😭
I personally believe they were never actually anything more than friends, although because Gojo was so distant from anyone else bar Geto, I kind of headcanon that they loved each other romantically, but never said anything? It was like "this is comfortable, I love this other person so much, but we have plenty of time to sort it out eventually. I'm satisfied loving them anyway I can at the moment." Just as a personal thing, I feel like they're mourning what could have been. Like they didn't get the chance to love their "one and only" enough. Although I won't go against anyone who thinks their relationship is platonic, either way they're soulmates and are both each other's better half. It's a deeper love than just shallow wanting someone physically. It's a love that transcends our normal idea of love. It's an "Oh god, I want to love this person for the rest of my life. But circumstances mean that we wasted it. How could we be so lucky and then throw it all away?" Just something to think about, I don't want you to think that I'm trying to disprove you or anything!
It’s just a bromance. It’s not that fucking deep. You can have a close relationship with a mate that doesn’t have to always hint at something romantic. It’s like a brotherhood. Stop trying to give fuel to these shippers and their unwarranted obsession.
they can have a brotherhood but they can also have a romance. it’s not impossible to make both conclusions so just like you’re saying that they are only friends, some people say that they’re boyfriends. it’s simple.
@@milkgalactic there’s just not enough of a foundation for this, in my opinion. @@HiranoMagu You have to do more research for that and learn how japanese romantic things work for that. There is still a decent amount of evidence that these characters' relationships can be interpreted as romantic. For ex - the opening song Ao no sumika of HI arc lyrics can be interpreted as gojo confessing his love for geto as it uses the romantic version for the word 'love' in Japanese, gege also has said that he likes to read Bl (short for Boys love) manga and is inspired by one, lastly in Japanese culture there is tradition where boys give their button from their uniform to their crushes upon graduation and geto also he left a button when he defected at the village which yaga gave to gojo ( that's why gojo's hand was bleeding when he learnt what happened to geto through yaga because he holding that button ). I am pushing it with the last one to be honest, you asked for evidence and I gave it to you. However, your interpretation is alright too and you don't have to change it.

why are y’all acting like it’s the most absurd and impossible thing ever lmao. shippers have always existed. they are obviously not in a relationship because a shonen writer wouldn’t do that but people are still gonna have fun shipping them the same way they ship nobara with yuji etc. Gojo and Geto happen to have the most “shippable” relationship in the anime so it’s no surprise they’re getting shipped.
@@santiagoegas7715um, what the sigma?🤨 That was said so politely. Why are you suddenly acting like you just received a barrage of insults? Do you always act like this after every convo that you don't agree with?🤔
The part that convinced me that they were dating was at the end of the movie when they muted Gojo’s last words to geto. Reminded me a lot of levi mouthed her her feelings for gajeel in fairy tail. If it was purely platonic, there was no reason to mute them.
I believe that gojo and geto love each other, but not in a romantic way like that or anything, it just seems like because the two of them are the only ones who truly understand each other, they became very close, and only ever had each other, not in a gay way, but in a “we are the only two people that we can relate to” and it’s also clear that gojo is straight, as in the anime he states that girls like Miwa are his type and it’s been stated that he isn’t in a relationship because he couldn’t imagine staying loyal to one woman. I really don’t care what people think of gojo x geto, but I personally think, given the evidence, it is quite dumb. Let them be, in Gojo’s words, “best friend[s]”
there are a lot of relationships in shounen that could so easily be read as romantic even though so many fans like to say otherwise, whether it's just shipping or will someday be canon, it's just silly to deny the chemistry. stsg isn't even the only one in jjk, I mean as someone who hasn't read the manga I can't speak as confidently, but the tragic best friend maybe boy/girlfriend trope seems to be consistent, even pre-stsg
people seem to not know at all what shipping is when bringing out takes like these. it's like y'all can't accept that shippers aren't only the delulu crazies that make headlines. it's basically just saying, oh i like the dynamic of those two, and then making fanon content around them. it's all speculation, having fun with the source material, knowing that it's all up for interpretation and opinion. get over it, it's not that deep. geto and gojo's being shipped or not is not defining whether men can be friends or not. it's literally not that deep.
I read a comment somewhere that said “Gojo and Geto are soulmates. Whether romantic or platonic, they’re soulmates” and I think that sums it up perfectly

It’s heavily implied right before Geto died, Gojo found him and said something that can only be seen mouthed, and it’s very clearly “I love you.”
(Little edit to this, it might not be I love you, but either the eng or jap VA for Gojo has said it’s a sentence with three words in English)
10. The 24th of December is considered the most romantic day of the year, which is the day Gojo and Geto reunited for the war. As well, if I remember correctly, the day they had their KFC break up.
Thanks for reading, and happy day to all satsugou fans!! :]

I don’t understand why some people are so vehemently against this ship since its not like either of these two characters have a deep meaningful romantic relationship with any of the female cast.
I dont blame shippers for latching onto them since shonen authors famously make the most interesting and nuanced relationships between two male characters (ex: naruto and sasuke)
Personally, I think some guys who see themselves in gojo and getos relationships dont accept any gay or romantic subtext a reader might interpret for fear of being gay by association for liking these characters, some classic internalized homophobia and insecurity
I think it’s either jealous women, insecure men, or just people who are fearful of the my hero academia phenomenon 😂
And mostly because a lot of their shippers are hetro women who imma tell you they are saying the absolute weirdest shit that makes almost think that they turned it into another fugoshi ship instead of taking it as a tragic love story
If they are lover I just dropped the show I hate both bl and gl it is disgusting to me

You cant force people to consume media in a way YOU like just because it bothers you.

It's homophobia. If Geto was female, y'all wouldn't hesitate in the slightest to say they are in love.
It's pointless to argue with homophobes which a lot of anime watchers struggle with.
like, these people extrapolate it to the point of saying it ruins the anime for them. like what??? you're that fragile? ships exist in every fandom, gay ones exist in every fandom, are you gonna stop consuming any and all media because people having fun with characters regardless of what's canon or not bruises your ego?
Yes thank you for this, i cant believe these people are saying they didint see anything romantic between these and then go ship gojo w utahime... Be for real. If any of them were female they would have 0 problems shipping them and sexualising the female one. Honestly disgusting.
conclusion: if utahime and shoko doesnt shock anyone, why the heck not gojo and geto

The kiss between them was canonized later on in a tweet by the author, but it wasn’t technically a kiss. Well said! as a queer person who has seen a LOT more educated people when it comes to stuff on the meanings and the way we show our romance are very different in different cultures. like apparently leaving a pin is a sign of their love for a person and riding a bike together is a very intimate thing. they have their squabbles, (in certain translations they flirt at least in a joking way), and even with good examples of great friendships such as yuji and nobara of people who truly are good friends. to me as a queer person i do think there is something going on with them, do i think theyre dating? no its more of what they should have been and could have been if not for the world around them a VERY common theme that i can relate to. they are a lot more intimate than i think people are willing to give credit for. either way its a great relationship and we wont truly know due to a very big issue with queer censorship from both fronts. if yall dont see it thats cool but i think its still important that this ship at least lets queer people feel included in something or even people who just like “what could have been” drama. all n all my favorite husbands jkjk

I think I know why most anime bros can't get gf. They're too dumb and don't understand romantic subtext
I totally see them as siblings on my part, they have a deep bond as friends and I really love that for them. But if ever geto was a girl, I wouldn't ship them directly unless they have more scenes that implement that. From what I could feel and see from them , is that they are like siblings.
Just saying y'all.... if Geto was a woman, everyone would undeniably accept these two as canon.
Ive always found it fascinating that ehenever 2 guys are close people say "Well why cant 2 guys be just friends it doesn't have to be gay!"
People rely on yhis all the time to dismiss the very notion that these characters might not be straight, as if that'd make them lesser or something
and on top of that, it's literally not that deep. two guys can be friends, and straight, and still shipped together because it's all fanon fiction, having fun with the source material. let me repeat it: IT'S NOT THAT DEEP. two guys being shipped, regardless of whether they're canonically gay or not, is NOT THAT DEEP™. it's just saying, oh i like the dynamic, let me make headcannons and content around it. nothing more, nothing less.
Yeah, it's definitely a sign of internalized homophobia.
Yes correct, but here is the problem, some of you guys could be so hell bent on thinking that it's real, causing you to actually fight over people who thinks that it's not, like I commend you for having an eagle eye view on this, this is just fictional and all but like I said some of you are literally harassing people who thinks it's not. Fun Fact, The Reason He Says Gojo'd Name So Sweetly Is Because Gege Wanted Him To Sound Like A Wife Calling Her Husband's Name
It always felt like even though Gege never intended to have Gojo and Geto be a couple, they knew two hot guys having a very close relationship with BL fan service would drive readers crazy and feel that more invested in the characters, you can really tell that Gege had fun writing a lot of their male characters in this way.
If you listen closely it might be aswell as the day they both died December 24th for Japanese it’s like a Valentine day
Just by googling images of them from the show, i believed they were boyfriends...i was really disappointed to find out theyre just "best friends". The chemistry is there even on google images ;-;

Not just because society pushed them away, but because their personalities changed beyond recognition.
I honestly think of it as brotherly love, something that i think every guy has experienced whit his friends.
I think the same way, bromance or close friendship are often overlooked in fandoms, they always assume theyre gay. Like cant people be just friends?? And that goes for any sexuality.
@@Annie-wy5mc as someone who enjoys many (non confirmed) gay ships people can be friends, a lot of the time i ship characters just because. but when it comes to them i genuinely believe there's something more. theres so much romantic symbolism in their relationship, its hard to see them as anything less than friends who developed feelings for each other. no hate btw just adding my input

Satoru and Suguru are depicted as best friends canonically and otherwise, i've seen best friends no matter how they treat eachother are being shipped, no matter what. It became to the point that it's annoying, gay or not. Not every relationships have to be romantic, normalize people being close platonically, normalize people being just friends in general.
(mostly just joking here, but i tend to be ok with any ships due to the fact i dont really label any characters with any sexuality)
I personally think the only ships i will ever hate are the ones that, 1.
(For example, I recieved threats and a lot of insults in the Voltron fandom back in the day.)
Bisexual until proven otherwise is an amazing statement and I shall use that more often haha.
It adds impact no matter the relationship is tho. Some say a best friend break up is more hurtful than a couples break up.
I don't get why people are so agressive over ships tbh, like cmon, scroll or ignore and live your best life. People will ship anything and anyone, that's what fandom and internet is. If you see them as friends, great, that's valid. You see them as a couple? Good on you. It doesn't matter as much people think.
Gege reads boys love mangas for inspiration…..like there’s no denying that their relationship is a little bit based on some BL’s that he be reading

@@unlimon6382 I believe you might've misinterpreted my comment. As I said, Gojo and Geto work better as friends because of the sheer selfless concern friends have for each other, in this situation a lover would still feel that way but the feeling of being left alone would also be stronger which could damage or alter in a negative way their dynamic (just as much as it could improve it).

My brother in christ the intro to season 2 is literally a love song between gojo and Geto, and Specialz is Sukuna/Kenjaku mocking Itadori/Gojo
I see why people think that, but I don’t really believe it. A lot of the things usually used as examples can be taken different ways, and I think there’s usually a more likely explanation.
I mean, if you put into consideration that the author confirmed he took inspiration from bl... it's kinda self explanatory..
Geto giving his button to Gojo can be seen as something else?? When in Japanese culture you only do that to people you like romantically?? I guess so.
Bro! Not you reminding me of the ending of bannafish!!!!😭😭😭😭
Theres also the ship sinker of a simple brotherly bond. The most telltale sign of this is the bickering and rivalry the two share, along with the lighthearted skinship. That comes off as more familial than romantic.

Love can be shown in many different ways and efforts to eachother. I mean bro was having flashbacks when he met kenjaku with getos body, who's not to say that he truly missed geto and maybe wished that he could've help him before it was too late.
Also adding banana fish is a gut stab in the fricking heart

@@PatManDX the problem is that even if there is just two guys hanging out it's called gay for like no reason
@@spiritofchaos58 That's the part I dislike...

You have to do more research for that and learn how japanese romantic things work for that.

I like to think of their relationship the same as my old friendship. Maybe maybe not
I believe that gojo and geto love each other, but not in a romantic way like that or anything, it just seems like because the two of them are the only ones who truly understand each other, they became very close, and only ever had each other, not in a gay way, but in a “we are the only two people that we can relate to” and it’s also clear that gojo is straight, as in the anime he states that girls like Miwa are his type and it’s been stated that he isn’t in a relationship because he couldn’t imagine staying loyal to one woman. I really don’t care what people think of gojo x geto, but I personally think, given the evidence, it is quite dumb. Let them be, in Gojo’s words, “best friend[s]”
