Thank you so much for this video. I've been looking around for almost a year now for a video that is for this newer Maytag dryer and had no luck with a good tutorial until this one.
Really wish someone would record the noise so I can see if it’s what I’m experiencing. Hundreds of Maytag repair videos showing how to take it apart, but not the noise they are fixing!
I got a boom, boom, boom noise going on. Now about 4 years ago it was a squealing sound which was the idler pulley. This noise is different that i have now. I have taken it all apart and cleaned it out. Still can’t figure it out.
Perfect instructions, My dryer was vibrating and sounded like a plane taking off, it sounded like it was coming from the front where the exhaust fan is, and when I applied pressure to the door and front of the machine it would quiet down a bit. Seemed like it was the fan. I followed the disassembly instructions, removed about 3 cups of built up lint from the fan blades, cleaned the housing, reassembled everything........Like new, Thanks
I appreciate the video, I realize I will just reverse the steps but I would like to see a video of the actual disassembly as well, do you have that video or know of one for this model? Haven’t been able to find one
You’re very welcome! Unfortunately, I do not have that video. I got all the way to the end and realized I probably should have been filming haha. You are correct if you go from the end of the video, it will walk you through disassembly.
I literally just fixed my squeaky noise. I took pictures but no video. The problem was the pulley/ pin that’s right next to the blower motor pulley. I had to file down a bit the pin and then greased up and lined up the pulley and I’m good to go.
No sir unfortunately not. This was just one occasion where I opened mine up and took a look. If it's squeaking though, just try to figure out if it's coming from the top or the bottom, and where exactly its happening. Then just go from there.
Mine just started squeaking too it seems like it’s coming from the bottom. Rear left side of im facing the dryer. I’m going to try and add silicone lubricant. Let’s see if that works. Seems like it’s a pulley based on other videos that look similar.
Is there any way to remove the front panel without taking the dryer out? Doesn’t seem like it but ours is stacked and gas so I’d rather not take it out of its cabinet if I can help it.
Unfortunately I don't think so. Probably going to have to pull it out so you can get to all the screws. That top has to come off to release those electrical connections. Everything is pretty fragile, so I would definitely follow the steps.
I managed to do exactly with the pedestal in place, you just have to pull out the draw and for the back screws, get a 90 degree right angle screw driver attachment so you dont have to pull the dryer out.
@@scarlett4933 if you watch the video from the end back to the beginning, it’s should be easy to follow I believe. Just didn’t think to film it until afterwards.
@@lawrencegraham0 I did watch it. Thank you. Not saying it isn’t a good video. I in fact did change out the idler pulley, cleaned it all out and I am still getting a rumbling going on. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. The belt looks good and I didn’t find any bad spots on it. When it spins there is like a boom, boom, boom sound going on. lol ugh! Thank you for the video. I appreciate your help.

@@Lajza12347 you’re so welcome. I’m glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this super helpful video. I could never have imagined that lint buildup could cause such a crazy amount of noise!
You’re very welcome! It’s pretty wild

I'll see if I can find it and add it in.

great Video but i wish there was a dis-assembly video as my front section after unscrewing all 7 screws doesn't want to unhook from the right side

@@lawrencegraham0 figure it out, there are 2 more philips screws in the middle

So what was disconnected? It would of been nice to see that because i have no idea what to disconnect
