This should have been the music video for Coldplay's song Clocks . Instead, Coldplay produced a bland, generic video with no reference to clocks at all. If you listen to the song Clocks, the beat lends itself perfectly to the ticking of a clock. You can practically "see" the gears turning and the second hand ticking, but nope... as usual it's a Canadian band that is innovative and places themselves "inside the watch" for a song about time. Nice! This deserves way more views. Another awesome Canadian rock band showing the world how it's done. :) In fact, about the only thing Default could have done better, is if the band was ON the actual hands of the clock while being "inside the watch" as it was turning . They're inside an imaginary wrist watch in the music video but placing the drummer on an imaginary hour hand and the guitarists on the minute hand or something would have been taking it to ultimate level, so that they're actually moving inside the watch as time is passing.

This was really the last wave of good rock music. Early 2000's produced some great rocks songs, but the sea of sh_t music had already begun to take over at that point, and now we're drowning in it today.
Computer generated crap singles by put together teenagers with fake tits and tattoos with that just right bullshit look with no talent is cheaper than paying for good rock bands that can play and can sing in time
Kelly Tolliver Except for the fact that most of these bands didn't make sh*t unless they had a series of multiplatinum albums and lived out of suitcases for years on end. Even then they were at the mercy of their record label for promo. Bottom line is the labels screw artists, so we're left with crap.
According to Wikipedia, the single was released Sept. 25, 2001, a couple weeks after the 9/11 attacks and when our nation was freaking out about weaponized anthrax being sent through mail -- this was a time when words like "weaponized" had entered our lexicon, so it was definitely not a simpler era when this song was released...

Um. No. Just in the number of great bands the 70s and 80s were better for rock. By the 2Ks mainstream rock has become formulaic. Although i would say that Nightwish is the best rockband of this century that most Americans have never heard of.
stop insulting him for this. Default isn't groundbreaking and bands like Pearl Jam are IMO a lot better, but Default are certainly far superior to trap rap etc, and a lot of 00's rock and metal IS really good, even if bands like Default may not be

I'm never going to get tired of listening to this song!!!
This song was my jam! I still fire it up when I need to get a good feeling. When he hits the chorus, it's like a punch.
Man...this INTENSLY brings me back to a time of simpler days. Sitting both before school and after school hearing this song on MTV and VH1 in my parents living room. It was a masterpiece and has stood the test of time. An absolute classic to the fortunate that stumble upon it.
Miss the days riding with my dad hearing this song, rip mom and dad love you
Damn this is a kick ass song. March 2020 stuck inside travelling down memory lane wondering WTF happened to good old rock n roll.
Music in general has been ruined by Social Media
This was really the last wave of good rock music. Early 2000's produced some great rocks songs, but the sea of sh_t music had already begun to take over at that point, and now we're drowning in it today.
Computer generated crap singles by put together teenagers with fake tits and tattoos with that just right bullshit look with no talent is cheaper than paying for good rock bands that can play and can sing in time
You read my mind.lmao
Kelly Tolliver Except for the fact that most of these bands didn't make sh*t unless they had a series of multiplatinum albums and lived out of suitcases for years on end. Even then they were at the mercy of their record label for promo.
Bottom line is the labels screw artists, so we're left with crap.
Nostalgia back to a time when life was better and easier. Didn’t have to worry about todays life’s problems. Wish we could go back
Rediscovering this song again was the best thing to happen today.
Does everyone in this comment section want to build a time machine with me and go back to the day this song came out? When times were simpler.
Yes
According to Wikipedia, the single was released Sept. 25, 2001, a couple weeks after the 9/11 attacks and when our nation was freaking out about weaponized anthrax being sent through mail -- this was a time when words like "weaponized" had entered our lexicon, so it was definitely not a simpler era when this song was released...
Dude I agree 100 man for real
I Was Already There, It Was Awesome, I Just Came Back...
🎸 🎶 🎸....
Time Traveling...
@@dasky17 Bro I was 7 and my life was simple. No facebook bull ish. Times were definitely simpler than they are now
Someone reposted this song in a Metal Group Page on FB and said "These guys are a Happy Staind" and its probably the most accurate description ever.
Yeah, basically if you combine Staind, 3 Doors Down, and Nickelback together, you get Default.
This song brings back so many memories that never happened
My boy caca told me about this song back in the day when burning a cd for us to listen. Whenever this song plays i think of him, and how we using to bump this with our systems. I always forget the group and go down a rabbit hole. Rip caca. Gone but never forgotten. Love u brother
has such a unique rhythm, i love this song!
Who is listening and relating still in 2024?!
Here
Present
Yo
Hayyyy
12th July 2024
the 2000's had the best rock and metal of all time. wish music was still like this today.
Ryan Morris lolololololololol what?????? How old are you dude???
Lmao you're on drugs....
Um. No. Just in the number of great bands the 70s and 80s were better for rock. By the 2Ks mainstream rock has become formulaic. Although i would say that Nightwish is the best rockband of this century that most Americans have never heard of.
An interesting rock-band of this decade is the Japanese band: Man With A Mission. Along with The Oral Cigarettes they”ve got some good riffs.
stop insulting him for this. Default isn't groundbreaking and bands like Pearl Jam are IMO a lot better, but Default are certainly far superior to trap rap etc, and a lot of 00's rock and metal IS really good, even if bands like Default may not be
I first heard this song when I was in college doing nothing in the dorm and this song started playing. I still like to just sit back and listen to it now.
I'm ashamed to say I only found this, but I rate this as one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard
No shame, today's music is crap (mostly).
I'm with you...I texted my daughter and said, listen to this new jam and she shamed me by saying that "Dad, this is as old AF!!"
Love this song soooo much! Songs like this remind me of my Dad. After he passed when I was 10... this song, Blurry, Only God Knows Why, & a few other would come on the radio at night & it made me think of him....he loved all these good rock songs!!!
June of 2021 and am still loving this song!
August 23 2021
The only time not wasted is listening to this song.
I played this beautiful song randomly in the car and now my 8 year old is obsessed.
this song will never get old. 5/30/19
hello from 10 March 2021
Probably one of the best songs they put out! They Rock!
First heard this song early in the mornings when id be getting ready for school and now that im 33, this is a song i still listen to help me wake up in the early morning when my body is aching from work.
Man, getting older sucks big time.
Same age we should’ve listened when they told us to slow down
I’m 47 and this song hits much different now than it did back in the day. Still straight 🔥🔥 4:06
turning 45 here, and I LOVED these kinds of music between 2002 - 2005...Still do
His voice is everything 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Back when things are straight and not Z. Love my youth 40 here
45 and hear you loud and clear. I was in an original band back then, and listening back to our songs, I can hear similarities. It was the last of good rock bands in mainstream.
This came out right after my wife left me. I met a gal that was awesome. She didn't tell me she was still married. This song summed it up.
How's the love life today my friend
LYRICS
Well I don't want to see you waiting
I've already gone too far away
I still can't keep the day from ending
No more messed up reasons for me to stay
Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
And there's no reason
Just make the call
And take it all again
Woah again
Months went by with us pretending
When did our light turn from green to red
I took a chance and left you standing
Lost the will to do this once again
Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
And there's no reason
Just make the call
And take it all
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting my time again
Woah again
See you waiting
Lonesome, lonely
See you waiting
I see you waiting
Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don't ask for more
I'm wasting my time
I'm wasting oooooooh
Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel
I just hit the floor
Don’t ask for more
I’m wasting my time
I’m wasting my time
You can't stop the feeling
And there's no reason
Just make the call
And take it all again
Woah again….
thx
Heard this song on the radio a lot all those years ago! Never knew the name, just knew it was popular. A few days ago, I heard it on the radio again! Didn’t know the name or band-so I looked it up.
Had it stuck in my head, so had to listen!
Well I don't want to see you waiting
I've already gone too far away
I still can't keep the day from ending
No more messed up reasons for me to stay
Well this is not for real
Afraid to feel

And take it all again
Woah again

Lost the will to do this once again

describing my entire life ...
Very insightful lyrics, deeper than most lyrics of other one-hit wonders, that’s for sure.

There is a melancholy rawness of the early 2000's rock genre. This song is filled with angst and hope.
I just got my driver licence when this came out and it was my first cd to play in my vehicle.
Great driving music.
NICE!
good job bro
pontiachotshot I remember driving out country back roads listing to this...first time driving myself...damn those were still those relaxing...easy days....then went downhill from there
Mine was way back in 1978 and was blaring Van Halen Runnin with the Devil in my '76 Firebird. Damn we get old fast.
Why does every song from this era slap
Wow I haven't heard this song in almost 20 years and I remembered all the words
I remember riding in the car with my mom jamming to this song. I miss those days. When there was not a worry in the world. The happiest time of my life. This song will forever be in head.

We had such an awesome range of music in the late 90s to early 2000s. Even his endeavors into country are outstanding
