In my hands, in my hands again
Leave love bleeding
In my hands, in my hands
Love lies bleeding

The guitarist wrote this about his Grandmother when she was dying. Some of the words are really what he cried to her. He loved her so very much.
Is that Brett singing this song ?
@@patrickmereness3126 yes!

Thank you, I love knowing the background and the meaning---
That’s awesome to know
I'm 54 and this still kicks today's shit to the curb .
I feel you. I just turned 54, too. I remembered my 3 little boys trying to sing along to this in the car, and messing it up badly. Now I am a grandmother. Time is going by too fast.
You right Sir

No one has real RAW voices anymore in music today. I miss that. I miss this emotion playing out through a song with zero auto tune. Hits you where it’s meant to and it never gets old.
I hate autotuning, 90's didn't have the best singers but those singer had confidence, they knew if you were listening, you wanted to hear them. They didn't smooth out the roughness, or flat notes.
But maybe I'm just an old dude who doesn't get the young kids 😂
@@mariotrujillo1673 nope, I'm 13 and i feel the exact same way, thank god i have my dad too show me such amazing music
Peat & Diesel is a Scottish band that I love for that reason. Raw voice.
Oh I how I miss it. Substance.
Don't worry I'm bout to pop out with some shii just remember the name y'all will see
One of the more underrated bands of the 90’s
Its 2023 and this song still rocks hard. Thank you Fuel!

So I was listening to this song on my speaker at work. Just got made fun of because I'm a black girl that likes rock music. Know what I did......played the song again 😂
I’m a black girl too and LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! I remember it as a kid.
Hey there is nothing wrong with that sweetie take it from this white hippee chick lol
😂😂 girlfriend, just know people are weird and laughed at you. Think people don't look at me crazy when I am jamming to Ms. Etta James? Maybe they'll learn something...
NICE!
Lol....hell yes.
Songwriter Carl Bell on the meaning behind this song: "When I was younger, my grandmother got cancer. By the time they found it, it was much too late. Instead of sitting in some hospital, she wanted to go home and be home. And my mother and my aunts and their husbands went to sit with her at home. A few months passed, and the cancer had spread, it had eaten up most of her body and all of her hope, and it was a bad time. One particular day was a really bad day for her. My mother was sitting with her that evening, and she turned to my mom, and said, ‘How do you die?’ It crushed my mom, and it’s still crushing me."
I'm sorry to hear that bro I understand my grandma died in 2018 bc of cancer they got rid of it it was hell for her and after months in the hospital she died it's crazy bc it's hard to believe there gone
That's heavy. I'm sure she would want you to let it go, and to live the best life you could.

i think 80's music was awesome but also 1990's too i think this came out around 1998 Bruce what do u think?
agree, i love it.
Agreed legend🤟
The transition into the 2000s. You can still hear the true 90s in his voice.
God. The transiting into 2000 was the sadest time of my life
2000s was a rough time lol
Leaving the 90's was by far, the hardest thing I've ever dealt with and I've been homeless, suicidal, broken hearted, hated, picked on mercilessly for years, lost loved ones, hell I've been through the ringer.
This hits hard at the age of 40. So much memories throughout my whole life. This track is timeless.
i know what you mean. bought this album when it first came out bc i heard them at rock fest in kansas city
@@normanpryor2485 seeing them live is awesome.
Yup. My thoughts exactly.
Right there with ya.
This song is perfect in every way. Pace, lyrics, voice, instrumentals, emotion, all of it.
That 2nd verse is sooo good.
Sad...wtf happened to great music that made you feel things and stayed with you! This reminds me of simpler, better days we thought would never end and friends we knew we'd always have. Great music has power. It can transport you to places and times that make you emotional and nostalgic.
❤
Indeed
Sadly a lot has changed. The music is all the same. The popularity of bands has faded. Wish that it'd come back
I wish I could create that, even if it was only for a few people to hear…

Todays music is like listening to a computer program. The 90s and early 2000’s was written with the soul. Instruments and meaningful lyrics.

This song is iconic. It's always fresh. I never get sick of hearing it. Hats off to the boys for writing a flawless rock tune.
Older I get the more I appreciate 90s music. Class of 94, best rock and country in that decade!

My mom used to play this song with my dad before I was born and when I was in her belly ❤ god I miss her 😢
Carl Bell wrote this about his grandmother who died of cancer. I've always loved this song, but it wasn't until November 2019 when my dad died of intestinal cancer that I REALLY connected with it. I can also play it on guitar. DON'T FALL AWAY, AND LEAVE LOVE BLEEDING IN MY HANDS, IN MY HANDS, LOVE LIES BLEEDING!
My father also died that year due to internal bleeding from a past intestinal surgery. He had cancer and didnt tell any of us, unfortunately. My heart goes out to you ❤
My dad passed from stage 4 colon cancer in 2013 and I didn't even think of this song contecting as such until now, you both gave me goosebumps!

In music videos, most of the singers look like they're lip synching, but he looks like he's actually singing, actually yelling with passion. This is what most artists are missing.
I thank my parents for introducing me to this song when I was a child. They have a great taste in music.

Ahh yes!! Back in the times that both Rap and Rock were great. If you got tired of listening to Rock, you could switch over to Rap or vice versa and hear instant classics. Hell, even the Pop was good then.

Brett Scallions' voice is what stands out the most in this song. You can already tell that he's a pro at expressing his emotions just by listening to his vocals. Fuel has had multiple changes to their lineup in the past, including their lead singer. But Brett is the best vocalist Fuel has ever had in my opinion.

Fuel still rocks after all these years.
This has become one of my favorite songs.I just feel it on every level! Doesn’t matter when it was made because it just expresses something that’s so real.
The 90's music like this is gone forever...we won't get another band like Fuel, Matchbox 20, Pearl Jam or Temple of the Dog....
This song is the epitome of what nostalgia sounds like. Reminds me of all the places, people, friends, family, neighbors, and fellow students who shared those high school years with me. Many of those things are now nothing but a distant memory or photograph if you're lucky. Nothing hurt worse than having a crush on someone where that person was your entire world and believing that those times (good or bad) would last forever was such a youthful way of thinking. I wish I could go back and experience just one more day of my late 90's/early 2000's life.
Who else is rediscovering awesome music while stuck at home due to coronavirus?

Without a doubt one of the most unique and wonderful guitar solos I can think of. Not fast or over-playing, but a really well crafted tone that has always stood out to me. When I hear this song on the radio I still stop what I'm doing to enjoy it. I've always wondered what that exact effect is at 2:18. Anyone know?
Rotary effect, I believe
Idk the name, but a u2 song has that sound too, the song is “staring at the sun”
pretty sure it's a leslie speaker or something emulating it
any kind of leslie-speaker-style chorus or rotary simulator would do it. it's a very fun effect to play with.
Sounds like a Chorus through a Leslie speaker.
I never actually saw them before. All these years I've been jamming, I thought they were much older. His voice sounds like it's been here forever.
They're not that young. This song came out 24 years ago. The lead singer is 52 now. We are just getting old lol I'm 32 and remember when this song first came out

i did not recognize not 1 single name u brought up :D damm!! but yea,i think there are many people who listen to multiple artist and kinds of music but its not popularized, rock is rock and rap is rap
+MRDESTRUCTION26 You should check them out. They are really good vocalists. They are all frontmen for the bands Killswich Enagage, Sevendust, Hooty and the Blowfish, The Urge, and King's X.
+Evan Urena Don't forget the Bad Brains, the all-black hardcore punk band. They were integral to founding the hardcore punk scene in the late 70's and early 80's. Living Colour is another great all-black rock band. Even the NY death metal band, Suffocation, has a few black members.
Been listening to alternative and metal for years now. You are seriously NOT ALONE you should look up a group on Facebook called Black Rockers. You'll find lots of new and unknown artist in there. :-)

Memories are just where you leave them. (Instructing someone how to recall a memory)
Drag the water till the depths give up their dead. (If you try hard enough, you'll remember)
What did you expect to find? (The truth of a memory, or action is not always what you may like)
Was it something you left behind? (Do you see you left me behind?)
Don't you remember, anything I said when I said, (Literal)
Don't fall away,
And leave me to myself. (Don't break my heart)
Don't fall away
And leave love bleeding in my hands again. (Don't break my heart and leave me to pick up the peaces)
Leave love bleeding in my hands (The feeling of another freshly broken heart)
In my hands love lies bleeding.
Oh, Hold me now
I feel contagious (I want you to feel the way you made me feel)
Am i the only place
That you've left to go (Why did you come back? Did you burn your bridges everywhere else?)
She cries that life is like
Some movie black and white
Dead actors faking lines,
Over and over and over again, (She says that life is full of fake people just saying the same thing over and over, including "I love you".)
She said
Don't fall away,
And leave me to myself.
Don't fall away
And leave love bleeding in my hands again.
Leave love bleeding in my hands
In my hands love lies bleeding.
And I wanted, (You to stay, i.e. your love)
You turned away, (You left me heartbroken and turned your back on what you were doing.)
You don't remember
But i do (You're still saying that you don't remember, but I know the truth, and think you're refusing to acknowledge it)
You never even tried (Literal)
Don't fall away,
And leave me to myself.
Don't fall away
And leave love bleeding in my hands again.
Leave love bleeding in my hands again
Leave love bleeding in my hands again

We were in the front row. I won us backstage tickets to meet the bands .. it was the best night of our lives we got a limo to drive us there and home.. we were invited to the after party ..
Me and My Friends ( all of us were girls) got home at 11am the next morning.. it was the Best Night of our lives

There was No cellphone's like there are now , we had them but to expensive to talk on it was a dollar a minute back then free on the weekends. Kids today have no idea
But it was Great because we lived in the moment, we were present and engaged in Everything not a phone in our hands worrying about who texted us ..
We are the.last generation that bought Cds or Used blank cassette tapes and waited to record their favorite songs at night.
My station was Kiss 95.7 and Rock 102
Now its Just Rock 102 because the music today sucks..

I grew up in the late 70’s and early 80’s with some of the best music of numerous genres ever. Nevertheless, this song and other 90’s music like this are still a very powerful part of the soundtrack of my life. I’m grateful to have experienced so much great music
