I can 100% see how something like this could very likely have lead someone toward listening to heavier music eventually though, and I am all for that. It's a completely necessary stepping stone, as I don't think most could appreciate heavier music without being gradually exposed. I'd like to emphasize the "could have" though. It's obviously not mandatory, or the "better" path to take, going down the rabbit hole of heavier and more brutal music. I was in english class and the guy a few seats back had his music all the way up so we could all hear it through the headphones. I heard the opening music, turned around and said, "Breaking Benjamin?" He nodded approvingly and said, "Diary of Jane." It was a surreal moment.
My freshman year of college, I saw Breaking Benjamin in concert with Seether and Three Days Grace. The group I went with included a girl who lived down the hall from me in the dorms. She didn't know it at the time, but I had a huge crush on her. Fast forward 17 years, we've got two kids and just celebrated our 13th anniversary. I'll always have a soft spot for this song.

Great track from my all time favorite band. Just last week I was walking past my 16 year old daughter’s room and I hear her playing the opening riff on her guitar. We don’t realize the influence we have on our kids sometimes. She’s heard that song in my truck a thousand times growing up. Needless to say, I stoped and listened with a tear in my eye 😊

Honestly man, I was a kid when breaking Benjamin was popular. Feb 2000, baby, but my older brother showed me all of their music and man...the nostalgia...early 2000s rock feels to me truly the last great times as a kid, when life felt so optimistic. It's really hard to explain. Like even though I was so small, and I didn't realize it as a teen and adolescent, seeing how soulless everything is now as a an adult, it's just crazy to me. These songs remind me of good music, good video games, walking home in the summer with my brothers, the suburban life before phones and Internet took over everything. The pace of life was just so awesome back then. Rose tinted glasses maybe, but I really don't think so. These songs remind me of what now feels like an alternate timeline. I don't even know why I'm commenting this. Peace and love to anybody who reads this. Don't let the nostalgia die man.

I feel the same way brother. Am 33 now, so back then I was in my teen-age. Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Rise Against, the list goes on and on... The whole Nu Metal and Rock scene was amazing and you're absolutely right. We had cell phones and internet, but they weren't dictating our lives. The whole idea and concept of what the world has become now was unimaginable. It's surreal. School holidays were amazing, meeting up with your friends, hanging out all day, doing some chores around the house at your mate's place so his parents would let him go and play football with you lot, talking about girls, hitting on them too haha... The walks home on a summer night, but even the school times were amazing. You met other friends, friends, you haven't necessarily seen outside of school. Those high school teachers who seemed like they had a screw loose and now you realise, they were the ones. Maaan I feel old. Breaking Benjamin is one of those rare bands that really keep to their sound, they know that their fans love their sound so that's why they haven't changed even to this day. Been a fan of them since I first heard their song Blow Me Away on Halo ❤️
I first heard them through Halo 2 but I didn't know who they actually were until I listened to I Will Not Bow on the radio when it came out. Still a amazing band today.

They’re an extremely great love band. I saw them with Disturbed in August and I was surprised of how many of their songs I knew. But I was rocking out to all of them and they sounded amazing.

Just last week I was walking past my 16 year old daughter’s room and I hear her playing the opening riff on her guitar. We don’t realize the influence we have on our kids sometimes. Honestly man, I was a kid when breaking Benjamin was popular. Feb 2000, baby, but my older brother showed me all of their music and man...the nostalgia...early 2000s rock feels to me truly the last great times as a kid, when life felt so optimistic. It's really hard to explain. Like even though I was so small, and I didn't realize it as a teen and adolescent, seeing how soulless everything is now as a an adult, it's just crazy to me. These songs remind me of good music, good video games, walking home in the summer with my brothers, the suburban life before phones and Internet took over everything. The pace of life was just so awesome back then. Rose tinted glasses maybe, but I really don't think so. These songs remind me of what now feels like an alternate timeline. I don't even know why I'm commenting this. Peace and love to anybody who reads this. Don't let the nostalgia die man.

I feel the same way brother. Am 33 now, so back then I was in my teen-age. Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Rise Against, the list goes on and on... The whole Nu Metal and Rock scene was amazing and you're absolutely right. We had cell phones and internet, but they weren't dictating our lives. The whole idea and concept of what the world has become now was unimaginable. It's surreal. School holidays were amazing, meeting up with your friends, hanging out all day, doing some chores around the house at your mate's place so his parents would let him go and play football with you lot, talking about girls, hitting on them too haha... The walks home on a summer night, but even the school times were amazing. You met other friends, friends, you haven't necessarily seen outside of school. Those high school teachers who seemed like they had a screw loose and now you realise, they were the ones. Maaan I feel old. Happy New Year to you, and stay true to your values and what matters to you!
