The Sabbath was on Saturday in Judaism, the seventh day of the week in which God rested from his creative activities in Genesis 1-2. The resurrection of Jesus Christ took place on the first day of the week, Sunday, and became the day of choice for early Christians to worship together. This was not based on earlier religious practices, but on the resurrection of Jesus. - JA Show Staff

@RudeAwakning - The Hebrew word for Sabbath means "rest", it doesn't mean a specific day. Jesus said that He came to fulfill the Law in Matthew 5:17 - "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill." The early church started to worship on Sunday in honor of the resurrection. - J A Show Staff

Regarding Hebrews 4:9: Context is everything! We need to recognize that when it comes to reading the Bible there are DEEP THINKERS and there are SURFACE READERS. The surface reader jumps to a single verse and makes what he feels is a monumental case from it. Deep thinkers on the other hand, want to understand the context, the background, and really try to understand what is being said; they want to understand the big picture!

I agree. An HONEST reading of the 10 Commandments is so basic to the Christian experience, a child can understand them and in it, we are told to keep the 7th day Sabbath holy (Saturday). Moody radio continues to call Sunday the Sabbath, Catholics say they changed the Sabbath to Sunday of their own authority not because of Scripture or Thus saith the Lord. I pray people will be intellectually and spiritually honest about this important subject. Man does not live by bread alone....

The Hebrew caldendar reckons Sunday to be the 1st day of the wk & Saturday to be the last...makes perfect sense then that if Christ rose sometime after sun up on Sun. at the start of the week as it were (symbolising fulfillment & new beginning) that Christians chose to celebrate on this day; so Martin's application of Romans14 is correct. Not forgetting that the purpose of Sabbath IS rest & that believeing in Christ is to have true rest, is the whole point of this ceremonial law given to Israel.

  • @NJHoopz21
    @NJHoopz21 11 років тому +1

and there's more but you get the point..the early church gathered together on the 1st day of the week. now, whether they were somehow apostate is another discussion but there is plenty of written proof that the 1st century Christians did in fact meet on Sunday, specifically to honor the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! God Bless :)

Hebrews 4 makes it clear that the true rest is now offered in Christ, and not by our own works in keeping a day.

Although Christians, for the most part, don't worship on Saturday, that doesn't mean one is forbidden to do so. We can worship any day we want. HOWEVER, the Law that applied to Old Testament Israel was fulfilled in Christ's death on the cross; thus, there're certain things that don't apply to us today because of a CHANGE in the covenant (Heb. 7:12).
ALWAYS interpret the Old Testament in light of the NT. The mistake dogmatic Sabbatarians make is failing to see that changes were made.

IF we are not going by the CREATOR'S calendar then how are we to KNOW the TRUE Sabbath Day?? We CANNOT go by a Gregorian Calendar. The days were not named Monday and so on by God and neither the months as January to December. This throws everything off. The Sabbath has to be calculated the way God instructed us to Do! The calendar we use today does NOT meet the requirements and it's been changed. Even the Jewish Calendar doesn't not represent God correctly. The new year is The First Day of Spring and the Jews say it's in the Fall. Who's right? Calendars are so corrupt that no wonder God will make all things new and show us correctly during His Reign and it be so forever. Jesus is our Sabbath and the fulfilment of The Law.

Romans 13: 8-10: Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet, & if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore LOVE is the fulfillment of the law.

Someone needs to read the Bible--on that you are right. However, that the Sabbath was intended for the Jews only is beyond a doubt. One need only look at the instruction the Jewish Apostles gave to Gentile converts (Acts 15) to know this is true. Why do so many people not see this plain fact? Because they have an unsound knowledge of how to "rightly divide the Word of Truth"

"Which are a shadow of things to come", because it will continue in the Kingdom. Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. What this man is saying is that the Father did not keep His word, by saying "I change not". Hebrews 4:4-11. I am fully persuaded and will not let man judge me in keeping the Father's word.

Its funny how Martin throws the Bible away when ever he's asked about the true Sabbath! The 4th Commandment out the window!!! Satan has managed to have a counterfeit for everything! The Lords day sunday sabbath is one of the biggest!! Every doctrine in the Bible the devil has a counterfeit for!!! Almost every doctrine of the catholic church is a counterfeit! Christian rock music to speaking in tongues, pre-trib rapture, etc, etc. When he comes as Jesus will be his greatest counterfeit of all!! God help us!!!

wayneld30 This is very common today...People interpret the bible to their liking..with a feeling of lukewarm and they like it. One sect will honor the 7th day, yet commit adultery and have fellowship dances with men and women like the world, even in the Feasts of the Creator. God above despises all of this. The truth is they really do not have the faith to keep themselves set apart from the world (Holy) like the Son did when here on this earth.

What I understand is that when the time comes for the bride of Christ (the Church) to come back to the earth with Jesus for the 1,000 year reign, the Jews who turn to Christ and others who also turn to Christ during the tribulation will treat the Sabbath as it originally was and so many other events taking place as they should be and so on and so forth.

wayneld30 It was the Catholic Church that chose Sunday as the Sabbath, not God. "And on the seventh day, He rested." Sunday is the FIRST day of the week, thus actually, God's Sabbath would be Saturday. What Brother Martin read was NEW Testament Scripture that tells us to keep A day Holy as the Sabbath. Doesn't matter WHAT day, A day. That is not breaking any Commandment. Do you own a Concordance? Do you read Commentaries? Actually STUDY God's word? It's not difficult for understanding the truth. Also, Brother Martin did for years, maybe more years than you have been alive. He KNEW his Bible. That 'Sunday = Sabbath" originated in the Catholic Church. Sunday = Sun god. We don't worship Sun gods. (First Commandment) The ONE thing Martin NEVER did nor would do is "throw away the Bible." BUT... he's telling truth, God's truth, and he isn't "tickling your ears" so of course, he's wrong. Do some studying yourself of the Bible, use Scripture IN context, and not follow the world nor bear false witness against who was one of the biggest defenders of the Gospel of our generation with an expertise in Cults and false religions. Btw - you need study in the areas of the Tribulation and in Tongues and other gifts of the Spirit which have nothing to do with Satan. Ask God for discernment and get into His word for yourself.

In fact the Book of Revelations is laid out like the fall Festivals/ Moaids/appointed times of the Lord. Yah'shua ha Maschiach will fulfill these "appointed times" in order. They will occur in the same timing as Mosheh went up and down the mountain........

Almost the whole Christian world reverences Sunday, did God know that this attempt to change His holy Sabbath would occur? In the Bible's prophetic book of Daniel, God lists many identifying characteristics of the little horn who would 'think to change' God's law. The Bible's identifying points clearly implicate the Roman Catholic church as this organization. Infact, you can even find the answer to this question by looking at the many statements made by the church and its leader

    2 Thessalonians 2:11
10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.
They listen but they can't hear it because it hasn't reveal to them by the holy spirit of God.

@johnankerberg Also "shaboo" means repent in Hebrew and when you at the Hebrew letter Taw to the end you have "shabbath" 'rest". In ancient Hebrew it was meant to say "repent to the cross and rest". The Hebrew "Taw" in ancient Hebrew pictograph script was the image of the cross. Hebrew was pictures before letters.

@Charisma 101 to you. Not to me. We give glory to God for that woman' writings. She was a true prophetess. I can see what she wrote coming daily to fruition in USA and around the globe. The ten commandments are purely liberty from sin. The giver gave them by saying that He brought them out of Slavery( bondage) therefore, He set them free in his 10 commandments. These laws can not be bondage at all. You may argue that you are not a jew because of course they were given to Israelites. Colossians 2÷16 is solely speaking of sabbaths holydays which pertain to sacrificials ceremonies. Leviticus 23. Those are the days that roman 14 is talking about. Read carefully what jesus say about the sabath of the commandments in matthiew 24÷20. Looking in the future, he expected his followers, supposedly Christians to be keeping the sabbath command as it is written. Yes, Christ fulfilled the law. The ten commandments reveal sin 1john 3÷4 that is why we go directly to jesus for the forgiviness of our sins. In this case , we would sacrifice animals as it was before Christ. Pay attention. Satan is the law breaker. Daniel 7÷25. It is sin which made necessary the shedding of blood of beasts. The ceremonial laws were added because of the transgression galatians 3÷19 because of 1john 3:4.

White's books that is up to you if she is false or true God never changed his Sabbath day that was done by the Catholic Church you can go on Google and read their quotes they admit that they change Sabbath day to Sunday here is one quote: "The Church changed the the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday ...The protestant claiming the Bible to be the the only guide to faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter, the Seven-day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant." (The Catholic universe Bulletin August 14, 1942)

Of course he did! He was a Jew, trying to reach Jews for Christ. It was his custom to go to the synagogue/temple. While he continued to observe his Jewish customs, he adamantly taught that the Gentiles were not under the Law (nor were the Jews for that matter), and Jews were NOT to place Jewish customs on Gentiles. Do not take one verse out of its context. Let the Bible speak as a whole, and it is CLEAR that the sabbath, which was for Jews only, is no longer in force-Jesus is our Sabbath

Sabbath is not about which day a person think is best. it's the DAY that God gave to man whether we like it or not. it's not our choosing. Who we should rather follow and obey? God's word or Man's intellectual speculation. it's why God did not accept Cain's sacrifice. He speculate that fruits sacrifice will be the most suitable to God, while ignoring God's instruction to sacrifice the lamb. Choose you this day, to follow man's word or tradition or God's word mentioned in His Holy word. May God bless you all!

+Kalu Hser Paul You need to explain what the text means for you. Romans 14 "One man esteem a day above others while others esteem them equal". Go back to the History of the church in Acts 15 and the letter to the Galatians to see how some Jewish Christians required the observations of Moses Law upon the Gentile. Dr Martin is right in the context of Paul who was one of the men the Apostles sent in Acts 15 to settle the matter of the requirement of the Law on gentiles.

Kalu Hser Paul Well, don't you know Jesus observed the entire Moses Law? If you are to follow everything He did, why don't you observe everything in the Moses Law?
Your statement is incorrect. Jesus came under the Law, and He lived according to it. But we are under the Grace, we are to live according to it.
Now, you need to find in the New Covenant if Jesus or the Apostles commanded us to remember the Sabbath?

    • @mattjestic1
      @mattjestic1 8 років тому

Kalu Hser Paul Well friend the sabbath was never intended for worship, that's not in the law.
There is NO law that changed the 7th day sabbath to the first, rather we are at liberty to come together on any day {Romans 14:5}.
Secondly Jesus didn't come down to be an example for us, in fact nobody on this planet can follow his example, if one could there would be no need for his sacrifice.
Jesus was under the law so yes he kept the sabbath perfectly, but he also kept all 600 plus other laws like blue tassels, every feast and ceremonial holiday, food laws, don't mix the fabric in his clothing and not trimming his beard.
If he's your example friend you should be doing all these things.

There are no verses which support your suggestion that the Sabbath was a shadow of Christ. I live in the US, where you can still worship as you see fit, but do not suggest that the Sabbath was changed to Sunday because that is the day Christ rose from the tomb, there is no scriptural evidence for that change.

Lol I was just like u when I was sda. Truth is my friend where under a new covenant, read 2 Corinthians:3. We are no longer under the covenant of sinia, which included the 10 commandments. We are under the law of Christ, the sabbath was a shadow of Christ colossians 2:15-17. Now if you read Hebrews 4 it lets us know that the Israelites did not enter God's rest even though they had the 7th day sabbath, the truth is we could never enter that rest till Christ atonement on the cross. The 7th day Sabbath was only a guardian until Christ came Galations 3:24.

Does your God and Savior's actions mean anything to you??? Meant a lot to Paul! He preached the gospel every Sabbath(rest day) in synagogues(I guess to prove it was on a sabbath) but also he preached outside of the synagogue on the Sabbath. He enjoined gentiles on the sabbath in the synagogue and they requested more from him the next one.

Also, if JESUS said that "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." Heaven and Earth has not passed...Also Jesus said that the "The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:" He never said that the Sabbath was made only for the Jews but for MAN as in Mankind.

"It's a plural translated as a singular" straight from the pits of hell makes no sense.... God sanctified the sabbath and made it holy made it a perpetual covenant.... Perpetual- permanent, never ending, constant, in changing ..... So how ok earth will sabbath not be observed or nailed to the cross as some say smh false preachers we have to keep sabbath period

To # Kalu Hser Paul; Please do not interprete The Word of GOD with your own words and speculation. These will cause others to feel discouraged and condemed and others to be filled with pride. Since when did GOD instruct them to sacrifice the lamb? Cain's sacrifice was not accepted because he attempted to please GOD with the 'works' of his hands (Gen 4;2), fruits of the soil (the ground was cursed after Adam's mistake (Gen;3). Abel's was accepted because he understood that it was GOD's Grace that covered the shame of his parents when they fell. Gen 3 says that GOD made garments of skin and clothed them. THE ALMIGHTY CREATOR went to the extend of sacrificing HIS own creation for the sake of Man. So the first sacrifice was not from Man to GOD but the other way around, and thereafter, an animal was the only accepted offering throughout. The last sacrifice was also from GOD to Man, when OUR CREATOR, sent HIS own LAMB to die and take away the sins of the world. GOD has always given us HIS Best.Throughout the Old Book, ALMIGHTY attached conditions in order to receive HIS Blessings (Either Thou shall or shall not). But when The LAMB came in the form of YESHUA, everything was unconditional (Just ask in HIS name). But YESHUA did leave us one condition; "GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD AND FORGIVE US OUR SINS "AS" WE FORGIVE THEM.......Sin is what separates us from GOD and YESHUA showed us how we can be forgiven. Only when we forgive others, hence the word "AS'. For it is by GRACE that you are saved, not by works so that no man can boast. Mixing Grace and works is like mixing hot and cold and the result is lukewarm. Please do not add or remove any word from HIS WORD, especially claiming it to be HIS instructions.

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder.
20 You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless[a]? 21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,”[b] and he was called God’s friend. 24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
25 In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. (James 14-26)

Give us today our daily bread and "Forgive Us Our Sins As We Forgive Them Who Sin Against Us'. That my Brother, is the deed our our LORD YESHUA and James, John, Peter, Paul and Ringo, were all telling us about. Anything other than that, they called them dead works. All the above pertains to our relationship with others. Unless, you're planning to sacrifice someone on a fire. Sin causes doubt. Doubt itself separates us from HIS total closeness. YESHUA didn't only teach us to pray, HE taugth us the secret to forgiveness of sin. If you're not forgiving others, how are we going to get forgiveness for our sins. Remember that covetouness is is the beginning of the TEN. Try reading the TEN backwards and you will see why I said that Brother.

I don't believe that those scriptures are referring to the True Sabbath....the Ten Commandments make it very clear....in fact it's the fourth commandment and the biggest commandment and the only one that says..."Remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy". There was always only one Sabbath...it was and still is the seventh day of the week. There should not ever be a debate on what day that is when God has already made it perfectly clear. People have changed it...but God never has..or ever will. God Bless You.

Keeping the law and the Sabbath this is not a doctrine that the Sabbatarian made up. Dr.Walter Martin and many like him who quote that text that he quoted totally take that text out of context. The keeping of the Sabbath, Seventh-Day Sabbath is now kept by many denominations. Many Sabbatarians realize that in keeping the Sabbath that it will not save them. What they do know is that it is the right thing to do. Why? Well, it's simple. God said remember the Sabbath Day to keep it Holy.
We must also study the word of God and realize that this is one of the Ten Commands or Ten Commandments of God. When one says that the Ten Commandment are all rapped up in Jesus Christ he or she must look at what Jesus taught.
John 14: 15 If you love me keep my commandments
Is the Sabbath not one of God's commandments.
Dr. Martin should have known that in the bible there are two types of Sabbath.
Exodus 20:8-11 Weekly, 7th Day Sabbath
Isaiah 66:23 And Ceremonial sabbaths. "And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh some and worship me..
Dr. Martin was correct when he said the sabbaths were types and shadows. This is correct when you are talking about the ceremonial sabbaths that were based on the cycle of the moon. But he was incorrect if he was referring to the weekly Sabbath as a type or shadow.
Just like the Lamb sacrificed pointed to Jesus being the last Lamb to be slained so it is with the sabbaths and the Sabbath. The ceremonial sabbaths always pointed people to the weekly Sabbath were God says remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.
Let's look at the weekly Sabbath:
    1. Created during Creation week
    2. Created by God
    3. God blessed and sanctified it (Genesis 2:3,4)
    4. God rested on it from all of His work.
5.He then invites humanity to rest on it in Genesis 6:2,3 and Exodus 20:8-11.
There were no Jews present during creation week. So, this is not a Jewish thing.
The day that is sanctified in Genesis 6:2,3 is the same Exodus 20:8-11.
This is a explicit command from God to keep this day. This is one of God's commandments.
Remember Adam and Eve God gave them and explicit command.
What did he say, "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it. For in the day that thou eat thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2:17).
Now let look at the Ten Commandments.
    What is the Ten Commandments?
Is it not a command (s) from God?
Does the commandments tell us what sin is?
Romans 7:7 Is the law sin. God forbid. Nay.
I had not known sin but by the law.
Roman 6:23 For the wages of sin is death...
1John 3:4 Whosoever commiteth sin, transgresseth also the law, for sin is the transgression of the law.
What does Jesus have to say about this:
John14:15 If you love me keep my commandments (or keep my law).
John14:21 He that hath my commandments and keepeth, he it is that loveth me:
He that loveth me shall be loved of the Father, And I will love him,
And will manifest myself to him.
John14:23 Jesus says," ...if a man love me, he will keep my words:
And my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John14:24 he that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings,
Jesus then make it clearer, " the words which he hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
Most people say they keep them because they think that they are going to be saved.
Then they say they are trying to work there way to heaven.
Then they say they are legalistic.
But Jesus basically says keep my words, my sayings, my commandments as a demonstration of the love that you have for me. In other words obey me and by doing so you show me that you love me.
It like a marriage we obey the vows because we generally care for that person.
We keep God commandments because we care about God and what he as done for us.
We love him because he first loved us.....
This is why all should keep the Ten Commandments out of love and obedience to God.
When Jesus died people say the Ten Commandments were all rapped up in Jesus. Well, Jesus says here is a message from my Father. You obey ten Commandments then you love me . You don't obey the Ten Commandment which includes the 7th Day weekly Sabbath then you don't love me.
Some sense Jesus died it all about love, love, love. Well, it is about love. It about loving Him by obeying him.
This was Lucifer test in heaven. He failed.
This was Adam and Eve test. Test of obedience, loyalty and love. They failed.
This was Cain and Abel test. Cain failed.
    All had chance to repent.
    Lucifer refused. He blamed God.
    Adam and Eve. Repented.
Cain has a chance. He refused.
This is why our world is spiraling out of control.
6 of the command demonstrate how we can love humanity.
4 of the commandments demonstrate how we can show God we love him.
God gave us these Ten Commandments to keep us from death and self destruction.
He show us that he loves us through his commands or commandments.
His law is a transcript of His character.
Although we are saved by Grace, that doesn't mean that we can keep sinning because one day our cup of sin will be full and God will say "I never knew you".
Why would he say that because
    You never obeyed him
You refused to keep His commandments
Although in the church, you followed your own commands
You follow the traditions of men
You did things that God wanted done, but you did them your way in your time
You never had a relationship with Him
You drew people to you and not Him
He never knew you because when he tried to get to know you, you refused
This will be the story of every Christian who refuses to obey God according to the knowledge that he has given them or who had access to receive more truth, but refused
    It's as simple as that.

+Will Robinson Are you serious? You argued that the text Dr Martin quoted is out of context while you don't explain what the text means for you. Romans 14 "One man esteem a day above others while others esteem them equal". Go back to the History of the church in Acts15 and the letter to the Galatians to see how some Jewish christians required the observations of Moses Law upon the Gentile. Dr Martin is right in the context of Paul who was one of the men the Apostles sent in Acts 15 to settle the matter of the requirement of the Law on gentiles.

+belojo2003 Let me explain. I have much respect for the late Dr. Walter Martin. He has done some great things. He has also opened my eyes to many things in regards to religion.
Now my statement was that he was taking the text Roman 14:5 out of context.
Now We will look at what he said after he is asked the question.
      Romans 14:5
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
First lets understand the setting here. Paul is talking to the Roman church. Many of the Romans that has join the church use to be sun worshiper and they worshiped on SUNday now the Christian worshiped worship on Saturday Sabbath and so did the Jews.
Now this text is talking about judging.
It not just talking about just one man or men esteeming one day above another for no reason.
My point is this God esteemth one day upon another because he gave man the Sabbath and rest on the Seventh-day from all of Creation ( Genesis 2:2 and Exodus 20:8-11).
The issue here is judging those that don't do as you do or forming an opinion about them because they do differently than you do.
What Paul is basically saying is that neither the Sabbath keeper or the non-Sabbath keeper should judge one another.
"He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
      (Romans 14:6)
If we read further down it explains more:
But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. (Rom 14:10,11)
"Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. (Romans 14:13).
My friend Paul is not saying don't keep the Sabbath or the Sabbath is done away with. He just saying if you keep the Sabbath don't judge the brother that does not keep the Sabbath. If you don't keep the Sabbath don't judge the bother that does.
      What is the Sabbath?
It is one of God's Ten Commandment. It is the 4th commandment?
      Yes and yes.
First let me address Ankerberg question. Are they judging?
If the Sabbath keeper is making statements like the non-Sabbath keeper is a "lost cause" or "will never be saved he is judging".
No one know "who is a lost cause or "will or will not be saved". That is a judgment.
But, we must understand that what Ankerberg says exactly what Ankerberg said they say then he is not judging.
What Ankerberg is basically saying what Sabbath keepers are saying:
      "You must keep the Sabbath
This is the day that the Lord wants you to worship (on)"
Christian you'll have all been wrong to worship the Lord on Sunday
In fact when you look at this doctrine and don't conclude as we are
then you're going to go to hell some say,
This is the day the Lord wants you to worship"
This statement is not making a judgment.
The Sabbath is the day that the Lord wants Christian (followers of Christ) to worship on. (Gen2:2,; Exodus 20:8-11)
Exodus 31:13Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.
      Exodus 31:16
Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Many Christians that keep Sunday or worship on Sunday as the Sabbath Day is totally incorrect. Many who worship on Sunday knowing that it's not the Sabbath but chose to just worship on that day for whatever reason that is between them and God.. But once they know which day that God calls for his people to worship on they will be held guilty for disobeying God. We can worship on any day, but once we understand what God says to do we must do it. When it become law to worship on Sunday if we decide to follow man's law over God's law then we will be judge and found guilty and we will be lost or go to hell. Why? because we will be violated God's law. (Rev 13:15, 15-18)
Note, Ankerberg basically calls Seventh-Day Adventist a cult and refers to others as Christians. Now that is judging. He formed an opinion about SDAs. Let me be fair here. SDAs who follow Ellen G. White only or anyone who follows a man, woman or an idol is in a cult.
Almost all Christian religions follow thoughts, written materials or teachings from a man, woman, religious body etc along with the Holy Bible. But, when you put those writing ahead of the Bible this is where the problem comes in. All Seventh-Day Adventist Do Not Do This.

    • @DelaineRobinson
      @DelaineRobinson 8 років тому

+belojo2003 Now about Dr. Martin takes his comment. He refers Ankerberg to Rom 14:. That was fine. But he takes things a step further.
Romans 14 is talking about judging. It is not talking about disregarding a day or the Sabbath.
God created the Sabbath. (Gen 2:2, Ex 20:8-11) God blessed the Sabbath. He keep it Holy.
Jesus kept the Sabbath and the seventh-day Sabbath was kept by the disciples after Jesus death.
Dr. Martin basically says that the Sabbath, the feast days, the diet and The laws were nail to the cross.
He said that Paul last down the dictum that we shouldn't be fighting among ourselves on:
      Days of worship
      Feast Days
      The law
      The Diet
      And things of that nature
Dr. Martin says all of this has been consummated in Jesus Christ.
He goes on to says that Paul says that this is a shadow.
Where did Dr, Martin take the text out of context?
What is mention in Roman 14 day of worship and eating.
There is no mentioning of feast days or the law.
If we read Ex 20:1- 15 which talks about the Ten Commandment Law there is no mention of feast days or diet.
Basically he is saying that all these things were nail to the cross.
      He uses the term "consummated"
Which means To bring to completion or fruition; conclude
Jesus kept the law which contains the Sabbath, The law is the Ten Commandments. If Jesus didn't keep the law he would not have been a worthy sacrifice.
Why did Israel of the Old Testament and Israel in 70 AD go into captivity or was delivered into the hands of their enemies.
Answer: For not obeying God. More specifically for not keeping His commandments. For not keeping the Sabbath. For worshiping other God's.
Dr, Martin has the Ten Commandments and the ordinances or the ceremonial laws and feast days mixed up together. The ceremonial were nailed to the cross, not the Ten Commandments,
This is what Jesus has to say in regards to his law. The Ten Commandments
      John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments. (Which includes the Sabbath)
1 John 2:4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

In NO way, shape, or form was Walter Martin any type of "false Preacher" and his study of the Bible was of his own. His "high degrees" are in false religion. I wish he were not already Home with the Lord, as he'd be able to show you how to understand the word of the Bible in it's correct context and not what some WANT it to say. He has plenty of information at WalterMartin.com. It is not HE who has Scripture out of context. He knew the Bible in every single way in the context it is actually in. Some prefer to make it suit themselves. He is NOT wrong here.
