I honestly have never watched a better mini tutorial. Laruga is so clear with easy-to-follow examples of what she is trying to teach. Don't get me wrong, this is one of the most challenging practices I have worked on, but she simplifies it in a way that is accessible for all students at any level. She is a master.
spectacular, both the laruga with his explanations and teachings, and the interlocutor, with exact questions, which can be overlooked to explain to the instructor since they make it so fluid that it is already part of them. The interlocutor asks about each difficulty that the beginner may have. marvelous. -
this video is just so helpful I have been practicing Ashtanga for 5 years and I am an older student. I have never mastered this and now I know why!! I am starting from the beginning with you will develop a stronger core and especially the parts about hugging in the knees and lifting the chest and chin! this video is awesome thanks so much!!
I’m trying to follow her instructions here one by one as much as I can during my primary practice and I see my body approaching to this fluid transition little by little. She’s awesome teacher 👍
Been practicing for close to 6 months now and finally a teacher corrected my jumpback, 😅😂 I totally make all the mistakes Laruga covers in this video! Now imma fix them and be on my way to a perfect jump back and jump through in no time!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
This is the best yoga tutorial I have seen on UA-cam. Really well explained with extra tips for beginners and suggested exercises for building strength needed. Excellent!
If I lived in the same country she'd be the one and only instructor that I'd take lessons from. Thank you Laruga for your kindness, patience and your helpful heart.
This was so helpful. Some very subtle points that I can now work with to refine my jump through/back. It’s nice to see Laruga presenting material that beginners can work with. Everything else I’ve seen of her has been super human, beautiful to watch and inspiring but way beyond my practice currently.
Really helpful, and Laruga is inspirational as ever. I had the sense that Stu was trying, at the beginning of the film to disappear as an interviewer, I'm really glad he left all the questions in, it's really helpful. Many thanks
Thank you so much, Laruga! All the "mistakes" that you point out practitioners could be doing, is all that I seem to be doing and thus it is really helpful to see as wonderful a teacher as you to be showing how to correct them. Thanks a lot. And thanks to Purple Valley for this insightful video. Namaste!
Thank you so much for all these tips and suggestions!! I have started this morning with the jump through and what you are suggesting, Laruga, is really working. In this lifelong journey that is Ashtanga yoga, it is amazing to see the little improvements that come with the practice. Thanks so much Purple Valley for shooting this. 😍😍😍💕💕💕💕
Wow. Finally found this video I can watch until d end. Have been looking for much better tips on how to fluidly jump back. Thank u so much. You are such an eloquent and gracefully strong in demonstrating it.
This is such an useful video. I am a beginner in Ashtanga, and I appreciate a lot the explanation of little variations with the aim of building the strength required for the whole movement. Great questions and answer. It is exactly what I was looking for and couldn't find. Thank you so much!
Awesome Tutorial: Technically, this should be done with a steady nasagra drishti. Looking down while keeping the head up, a union of opposites, is prescribed for many beneficial reasons: neck alignment, deeper breath and improved proprioception. Gratitude 🙏
Laruga this was amazing! I have actually always been able to jump back fluidly, but jumpthrough has always been way harder. This helps SO much!!! Thanks a lot.
Laruga is such a lovely teacher and I love the way, she explains all the asanas and techniques! Hopefully I will meet her this year, when she teaches in Germany :)
thank you!! I have been trying for years. I really think that with this information I will eventually be able to do it. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
This video is excellent and touches on the exact mechanics required to address an issue I have been struggling with for more than half a year which is this: how do I master the jump through and back without my feet grazing the floor? I have tried blocks and work with some of the best in the industry but I had not heard the mechanics Laruga mentions in this video. Un moton de grathias!!!
I would love to see how you go from downward facing dog to forward fold (standing rather than sitting as you do here) to complete the usual sequence. My legs always drag and the idea to keep the pelvis high is a good tip and goal.
Thank you so much Laruga. That explanation was super clear. I would to know some tips for jumping through with straight legs. That move keeps eluding me.
Great video, any tips for people that have a short arm to torso relationship? I notice that the length of my arms is a naturally limiting factor for me.
It seems the same to me; Arms on my clothes tend to be long. Arm length seems to affect poses like this and holding head in headstand....is it really a limiting factor or am I just 'making excuses'?!
I didn’t like her adjustments when she was assisting in AY Confluence. I didn’t really trust her approach so I asked her not to adjust me although I’m all about being hands on. Some time later, I took her workshop organized by a friend of mine. She seemed bored and almost as if she didn’t care much about teaching it. It truly sucks because she has such an amazing, calming energy and phenomenal practice.
please can you tell me what microphone system you used here? what was it attached to? also what camera? i have watched many videos and presentations you have made, they are super!
Hi Laruga, great video thanks for sharing, but it seems I can't find any video/instruction for how to work on jump back once you managed to swing back.. So its easy for me to swing back, being where you are at 14:45 ... but then I can't get it how to "bend elbows and go down"... any "step 4" ? happy for any tips... Thank you!
Hey first of all love the video it really helps me a lot ! And you do it so elegant and beautiful. I have a small question about the jump back while practicing knees in to the chest and then lifting I feel it in my core but I feel it even more in my groins but I you haven't talked about that. Is it normal that I feel it a lot in my groins or am I doing something wrong?
I’ve been doing astanga for years and still can’t get the lift in my arms. I have a very long torso and short arms and legs, so I physically can’t reach the floor with arms to support weight. I have core strength as can do it with blocks. Any suggestions? Get my arms stretched lol
Thanks for your video, Laruga. Why can not I bring my knees closer to my chest - there are not enough stretch marks on the back and outer surface of the thigh?
While in yoga class, the instructor always tells us to try to get all fingers flat on the floor, and i would get frustrated at the very one pinky that refuses to flatten. I wonder why and i still want to aim for it. In this video, I notice one of Laruga's pinky finger is not fully flat when placing hands on the floor. Maybe i am seeing it wrong from this angle and that her finger really was flat on the floor, however if it isn't then i don't feel alone in this at all 😁 But with that being said, for all the yogi masters out there, especially for Laruga, what's your stance on the finger placement matter?
Great video and explanations. I just don't understand why advanced practitioners like Laruga jump back into a plank before chaturanga. Of course, she has control and ease while doing so, but isn't it fundamentally wrong to jump back into a plank and cause impact on the knee joints? It always hurts to see other practitioners doing so, specially with no control or ease whatsoever.

Is this are good
Such an elegant and intelligent instructor. Thank you for sharing. More Laruga please, thank you. :)
Totes!
How I can learning fast

Very well explained in a quiet way of speaking, so necessary for those who English is their second language. Thanks!

I laughed when she said, “Like so” on the jump forward. Oh ok, my “like so” is going to be very different than hers. ;-)
This is the best yoga tutorial I have seen on UA-cam. Really well explained with extra tips for beginners and suggested exercises for building strength needed. Excellent!

I second that “fantastic”! Deep bows of gratitude for the step by step leaving me hopeful.

Great video, any tips for people that have a short arm to torso relationship? I notice that the length of my arms is a naturally limiting factor for me.
You might want to look at this if you are still thinking so I believe you have already figured it out. ua-cam.com/video/7vIUvAL9IU8/v-deo.html

I just came here to say that I guess I will never be able to get this. I would have to use blocks for my short arms 😂
Timeless
Can I use wooden block
Thanks for your video, Laruga. Why can not I bring my knees closer to my chest - there are not enough stretch marks on the back and outer surface of the thigh?
with the landing i notice you dont bend your elbows rather deep but they are slightly bent .is there an importance to that ?
I almost did it♥️♥️♥️

Jump back to plank? :o I have read/learned that jumping back to chaturanga is much safer on the body...
Beautiful lady ❤️
The more often I see it the better I am at it😉🤣🤣🤣
Viéndote a ti parece fácil.... pero no lo es!!!! Gracias
💗💗😍😍😘😘You are so pretty sweety pie and your videos have so much useful yoga information baby. 🌹
