    Beautiful explanation but this takes a long time of consistent practice before it’s achievable. Blocks under the hands help a lot. I’ve been practicing Ashtanga for a year and I still can’t jump through, and I was a rock climber, horse rider and gymnast, so I had some strength. Just wanted to add the reality of how much dedication it takes

      Bloks actually do not work- one teacher makes me work with it, another removes blocks- said is wrong- I still can not float true- with or without bloks. This step step- transfers me- just now- I picked jumping in lotus help- and it looks if I will float, but I won't- cuz Im scared- this is the best anybody ever breaks the transition control. Try without blocks- flow itself lifts you up.. They convinced me that progress without a block is more likely,., Now I even think if I do the same sequence with blocks, there is a Calisthenics vibe on the lower abdominal muscles - this is a shoulder/hand-controlled transition. 1 thing that improves 75% after removing blocks is to jump up. This Video is BRILLIANT Brake true sequence shoulder momentum.

    Very enlightening video, thank you. Any thoughts on people with long legs and short torso? Makes the jump throughs are a real challenge.

    • @larugayoga
      @larugayoga  4 місяці тому +2

      I also have long legs and a short torso for my height. No matter the body proportion it is a challenging maneuver and takes time to be able to achieve. Work the steps provided they really work to build strength and coordination.

  • @coachmindy

    how do you jump through if you have long legs but T-rex arms? There's not enough room for the legs to get through.

    • @larugayoga
      @larugayoga  5 місяців тому

      Start with the progressions and the technique. No matter the proportion of the body you should be able to make improvement over time. Even people with long arms find it challenging.

      🤣been there- jumping in lotus helps, even where there is space to go true; what are the brakes in this situation? I dont want to catapult myself true my own arms, that is where we are all going, if I do not sink- step step/ tap- that's way forward, thank you thank you

    • @larugayoga

      No, never hold the breath. When lifting up, inhale. When swinging back to land in chaturanga danasana, exhale.

    I have damaged my wrist, exactly extensor longo of tge thumb during jumps through. Any indication why how to avoid it, how to treat it?

    • @larugayoga
      @larugayoga  4 місяці тому +3

      Make sure to keep a flat palm grounded on the floor at all times when attempting the jump thru. This is extremely important for the security of the wrist. Also, always widen the fingers of the hands as well to maintain a proper base which also helps to protect the wrists.
