Beautiful explanation but this takes a long time of consistent practice before it’s achievable. Blocks under the hands help a lot. I’ve been practicing Ashtanga for a year and I still can’t jump through, and I was a rock climber, horse rider and gymnast, so I had some strength. Just wanted to add the reality of how much dedication it takes
Bloks actually do not work- one teacher makes me work with it, another removes blocks- said is wrong- I still can not float true- with or without bloks. This step step- transfers me- just now- I picked jumping in lotus help- and it looks if I will float, but I won't- cuz Im scared- this is the best anybody ever breaks the transition control. Try without blocks- flow itself lifts you up.. They convinced me that progress without a block is more likely,., Now I even think if I do the same sequence with blocks, there is a Calisthenics vibe on the lower abdominal muscles - this is a shoulder/hand-controlled transition. 1 thing that improves 75% after removing blocks is to jump up. This Video is BRILLIANT Brake true sequence shoulder momentum.
My favorite Ashtangi! I follow you on everything as well as use your UA-cam practice videos. I hope to meet you one day! You inspire me so much as an ashtangi! ❤
Thank you! If you feel inspired check out the free ashtanga class bundle in the video notes. Also, I launched a online studio, including a mobile app to support your journey in the practice if you feel inspired. Hope we do get to meet one day. 🩷
When you are A Queen Of Yoga, as Laruga is, her explanations and descriptions of Yoga movement are so clear and well defined that your understanding of what she is saying, makes you yern to start a yoga class straight away. She is a Queen Humble Bee for sure. One of my favorotes. Thankyou Laruga for sharing your inner wisdom with us. Thankyou for educating us. Love from Australia.
Grad mal bei UA-cam auf dass Video gestoßen .Respekt wie sich eine Frau wahrscheinlich etwas älter so bewegen kann und so fit ist. Habe Yoga für den Rücken mal bisschen geschaut .
Thank you so much teacher Laruga. Your clear explanation makes me think that with costant practice and technique I' ll success in what is now for me impossible 😊
After watching and trying your method to lead true this particular transition - I'll implement on me understanding of Newton cradle pendulums steel kinetic balls -, you take me there - 1.step step 2. tap - swing will follow- just look at those balls
I also have long legs and a short torso for my height. No matter the body proportion it is a challenging maneuver and takes time to be able to achieve. Work the steps provided they really work to build strength and coordination.
Start with the progressions and the technique. No matter the proportion of the body you should be able to make improvement over time. Even people with long arms find it challenging.
🤣been there- jumping in lotus helps, even where there is space to go true; what are the brakes in this situation? I dont want to catapult myself true my own arms, that is where we are all going, if I do not sink- step step/ tap- that's way forward, thank you thank you
Make sure to keep a flat palm grounded on the floor at all times when attempting the jump thru. This is extremely important for the security of the wrist. Also, always widen the fingers of the hands as well to maintain a proper base which also helps to protect the wrists.
Laruga's attainable language; where i learned headstands.
Thank you very much, Laruga! Have a nice day! Namaste ❤

Very enlightening video, thank you. Any thoughts on people with long legs and short torso? Makes the jump throughs are a real challenge.
I also have long legs and a short torso for my height. No matter the body proportion it is a challenging maneuver and takes time to be able to achieve. Work the steps provided they really work to build strength and coordination.
how do you jump through if you have long legs but T-rex arms? There's not enough room for the legs to get through.
Start with the progressions and the technique. No matter the proportion of the body you should be able to make improvement over time. Even people with long arms find it challenging.

This is so amazing! Do you have a video like this for jump backs?
If you click the link in the description box there is free material available to complete the tutorial.
i have a question as to how to breathe when doing this. Do we hold the breath?
No, never hold the breath. When lifting up, inhale. When swinging back to land in chaturanga danasana, exhale.
@@larugayoga okay. Thank you so much!
I have damaged my wrist, exactly extensor longo of tge thumb during jumps through. Any indication why how to avoid it, how to treat it?
Make sure to keep a flat palm grounded on the floor at all times when attempting the jump thru. This is extremely important for the security of the wrist. Also, always widen the fingers of the hands as well to maintain a proper base which also helps to protect the wrists.
