Hello from Texas Mopsy Jay!!!! You helped me do a miracle.!!!! I fixed my xl 400 that I thought was done for....Watched your videos and started taking it apart and looking inside....I found a chewed up Bobbin case and the little "flag" spring had jumped out of place. Got my small needle nose tweezers and slipped the spring back under the tunnel it belongs in.... Put in a new bobbin case and VOILA' She's running like new again! I can't thank you enough......You are my sewing machine super Hero!

I want to thank you for this video. Wife’s machine was creating a birdnest and she could not figure out why...it sat unused for over three months. She is now back at it and enjoying using it again. Oh my goodness. Thank you SO much for this video. My machine just turned itself off while I was sewing and wouldn’t turn back on. I had no clue what to do. And we’re in quarantine so I had no hope to get it fixed. My plates were jammed, and when I moved the left plate as you showed to clean, it popped back into place. You’re a life saver. Thank you so much!
Katie. These machines have that safety cut out. If it turns itself off again, just walk away & give it a few hours and it should turn back on again. It does that to prevent damage.
Mopsy Jay so, I turned it off and left it overnight and it still wouldn’t turn on the next day :( when I took the cover off and moved the presser foot up and down, neither the back or front plates moved, like they do in the video, so I was super worried I had really broken it. I used a pin to push the front plates apart a little to use a tiny brush to see if any fabric was stuck and they clanked back into place! I was really worried! I’m so thankful for this community! Thanks for the info!!!

Awesome news Carol! Mainly concentrate on the needle hole. Once sanded smooth, some people put a very thin smear of clear nail varnish/polish & swear by doing that. Just make sure it's totally dry & cured before you use it. The same with the case. If you have any more problems, post them in the Futura Embroidery Facebook Group.

Well came across your video and discovered I must have pulled the thread out from the back spool dispenser (wrong way to do it)sometime and there it was, a piece if threat caught up in there. Getting ready to take my machine to a shop for adjustment. Your video has given me a few things to recheck before making a monetary investment. I feel I have attempted too many tension adjustments for the machines own good. Thank you as your insight is very helpful always to me. I miss my great straight and zigzag stitching.

Hello mam can you please help me to understand why my singer xl 580 has stopped to move the fabric when doing embroidery (I find the thread entangled under the fabric and does not move to embroider even I use a perfect stabliliser) do pls help me, and please suggest me for,can I use this machine commercially in a tailor shop for sewing more orders I get.
My first thoughts are 1) the spring in the bottom right of the bobbin area (the spring the case stop on the bobbin case presses against) has jumped above the bracket (it should be below). 2) Your needle hole in the needle/throat plate is damaged from needle hits & needs filing smooth. The same with the bobbin case. Both should be as smooth as a baby's butt, with nothing that could snag the thread. 3) Are your feed dogs down? :( I have singer futura 420xl. After. I bought and used a Singer walking foot I have been having problems with it. Keep getting error code 6 and if I try to use a plastic bobbin it doesn't wind properly.
Firstly, only ever use the Singer 15J plastic bobbin or the pre-wound bobbin fill. Error 6 is breakage of the upper thread. Also, do you have your thread on a thread stand behind the machine (purchased or home made)?
@@MopsyJay My mom looked at it and for some reason if I had the sitich width and length both set at 3 it would keep getting error 6. but when I put back to just stitch length and width to 1it would work okay :/. I don't use a thread stand unless I do embroidery and the thread spool I use is really big. Also I opened it and there was a few pieces of thread I got out deep in the machine. Might just end up getting bringing it to a sewing machine repair place for them to look at it tho just in case

Do you mean creating your own text? That will depend on the software options you have. If your talking about a purchased design, yes it can easily embroider text. What is important is how you stabilize the fabric but that applies to any embroidery project.
How would I know if I did break the spring? When I was following along with your video, my spring was in the wrong location. I gently pushed it back into the right position, but I'm afraid it might be too loose or broken. Can I order a new part or is this a service technician type of problem?
After i cleaned my machine it will only sew four or five stitches and i dont know what is wrong .It was sewing fine before. What can i do to fix it ? Any help is appreciated.
i have the singer futura 6700 and need to know how to replace the thread guide, thayt is attached to the needle clamp! there is a notch inside of the needle clam and i am not sure if the notch is supposed to look lok this or if there is supposed to be something else! the thread guide is broken, so i have to order a new one, but am not sure of the needle clamp! i cannot find a tutorial on the replacements of these parts!
Sylvia, I promise it's easy to do. With the machine off. Lower the needle & gently manually push the needle bar to the left as far as it will go to give better access (like if it was doing a zigzag stitch). I also found it helped to pull down the auto threader & tape it down out of the way. If you then look from the back of the machine, you will notice 2 grooves on the back of the needle bar with a screw just above. Loosen the screw & position the curved part on the wire thread guide over the screw. The wires should fit into those grooves. Tighten the screw to secure the guide. From experience, the top curve of the guide should be just above the screw with the screw holding more the side wires than that curved top part. Remember to raise the needle back up before you turn the machine back on. If you use Facebook. Send me a message as I have photo's I can send you on how to do this, but can't post them here. I don't know about the serger, but on the Futura's. some have a screw on the hand wheel & some don't. Those without a screw, they just pull off, but they are awfully tight. If they have a screw, remove that first, then they just pull off. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Can I ask why you need to remove the hand wheel?
Hi Nancy, not sure what you are asking? The last thing you want in your thread path is grease or oil as not only would that prevent the tension from working but grease or oil would also ruin your project. Depending on your machine model depends where you lubricate your machine during your regular maintenance & the instructions for doing this is are in your manual. What is more vague is when to clean & lubricate & everybody interprets this different. I do a quick check after every project set or & clean & lubricate my bobbin area more often that I check my upper thread path. I lubricate when I visually see the need & do a full cover off clean/check bearings & gears etc on an annual basis.

So, with everything turned off. 1) turn on machine. 2) attach small hoop (it doesn't have to have the fabric hooped at this stage). 3) Open software. 4) open design. 5) select small hoop. That should work. Once it has accepted the small hoop, you can take the hoop off if you need to, to add fabric, stabilizer etc. If this start up procedure doesn't work, please contact me again.

My Futura CE-250 doesn't look like that when I take the cover off. I can't access the discs.

My future class 400 is not letting me use the small hoop ,it’s saying design is too big , but it isn’t 🤔 anyone .
