Just discovered you on UA-cam! It must be over 20 years ago we heard you in Chester and bought 2 of your CDs ‘Romantic Melodies for guitar’ and ‘Guitar Moods’. We’re still playing them. Thanks for the beautiful music...
DPJFILMS Yes.... we live in Runcorn, not too far from Chester. Just ordered 2 more of your CDs today. I’ve always loved the guitar and had a chat with you. You were very generous with your time and told me lots of fascinating stuff about the guitar. Sadly, a musical ignoramus I was never able to make much progress trying to play .... so a few years ago I bought a Tenor Ukulele.... not in the same league but it’s given me lots of pleasure! So glad to see you’re still making great music....
@@davidjaggs No not yet. Want to get the fingering right first before anything else. I want to achieve that mesmerizing sound throughout the whole song. The Boxer worked out quite well tho it took some persistance. Bridge over troubled water is harder tho. Then again that's what I thought of Your Song too. And after a while, quite a while actually😃 that also turned out okay. For me anyway. And I love your in between notes David. Take the 3rd bar in Bridge over troubled water. Beautiful...Just that bar alone will inspire me to push on. Thanks for your music!
David, I just ordered and downloaded your arrangement of this great song as well as the short lesson you offered. Boy, some melodies just never get old, do they! I love the harmonic you use as part of the melody. PLEASE consider offering for sale a video lesson for "The Heart Asks for Pleasure First". This is a little hard to learn from tabs or notation but it would be so helpful to have you describe the right hand finger patterns. BTW, we all need a haircut and are wearing baseball hats! Thanks, John Gig Harbor, WA
You and Kent are in a league of your own, when it comes to clean sound while mastering at least 3 themes at once (base, chords, melody). DPJ if you dont know "Kent" here is one of his latest covers: ua-cam.com/video/MBWrGR5nuTw/v-deo.html On that note, can you name any guitarists like your self and Kent, I mean, obv not identical, but same type of clean control.
I've just got to say ... if he is faking it, he sure bought a wonderful guitar to pull off this con! BTW, the calm, relaxed hand movement is how we are all supposed to be playing!
One of the best versions of this song I ever heard.
Thanks 🙏👍
It like sings it as well I am amazed by it all. This is saddest.

Great to hear you're playing these pieces. Your Song and Boxer are hard, sounds like you are doing well. New book out this Autumn!

Thanks John. Let me know if the video was useful!
Very nice !!
Thanks Alan
Your picking hand is insane. All your fingers are constantly picking strings like they have eyes of their own
Thanks! 😅
That's very good if you did it yourself, and aw that sad face doesn't need hiding it's in keeping with feelings of the famous song', really loved it💖👏
😀
May i have a copy of this loveable arrangement??
Hi, you''ll find it here; www.classicalguitar.online/arrangements.html thanks for watching!
Really beautiful !! I would like to know if you use a special scordatura for this piece ? Thanks.
Hi.. it's standard tuning but capo way up on 7th
Another one of my favorites David, is this music arrangement available by any chance, this one and the Boxer.?
Yes, they're both on sheet music Plus. The boxer is in my book too
Is this transcript exactly like this performance? If yes, I gotta purchase it. Really like it !
Hi Mike, yes it's the same, and there's a video tutorial too.
That was just fantastic 👍 Very dream like. You should be able to book a haircut soon 😂 ✂️
I wait patiently!
Strings?
D'addario... Link in description 😀
@@davidjaggs oh okay thank you
