Yes !!°°°°°
No iphones, just listening to great songs and music
I remember watching on TV a few years later and i must of only been 8 or 9 then.
you are right, what a time it was,I was there

Their harmonization is...surreal.
John lennon mix
Guess what HI3 brought me here hahaha
Wut? HI3 ?
Err, let me ask, what's HI3 stands for? I just wanna confirm something.
surreal? fake it is! :)
@@Leirix61 How is their harmonization fake?
I just can't get enough of these harmonies!
Absolutely beautiful arrangement.
No autotune, just pure talent.
I agree with you
Oui!!! Yes!!!
was just talking to my mum about exactly this, scroll down and see it in the comments
Autotune is ... dislikable to put it friendly. Maybe there's a hateful boy deep inside myself, but good songs with great lyrics and meaning don't need that stuff. Even the harshest vocals are valuable if their idea or meaning is deep.
@@OSLP Agreed. The greatest singers have soul, not technical perfection.
Two singers, blending their voices in masterful harmony, and one guitar. So simple and so elegant. And hundreds of thousands of people, listening in appreciative silence.
There're other instruments, you can hear a bass guitar at least
and dat bass tho
Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end.
and the guy playing the Synthesizer throws in some highlights every now and then. Very subtle, though.
Hidden within Hundreds of millions of comments and other videos that run the Gambit. Most not so elegant:)
Imagine that the original songwriter in the middle ages never could imagine the impact the song would have through the ages.
WHAT?!- How?! I don't know anything about this song being that old 😮
He sang for his love. ☺🌺

It's from the middle ages, the time of the Renaissance at Scarborough Fair.
This is Mei 2024. Randomly miss this beautiful song❤️
Scarborough fair ,the most beautiful song of the world.
this and the color of love, Frankie goes to Hollywood
My mother was at this concert. She always tells me how it was the best night of her life.
Mine too! To good and old times...
I would like to go back in time just once to relive that night all over again. I proposed to my girl during the concert ( at the end of "Bridge over trouble Waters). We've been married going on 38 years now. How time has flown by... I just became a great grandpa.
Not when you were born?

There’s a beautiful sadness to this song.
This song dates back to 16th Century England.
@@garydunn3037 It does and - for me at least - when I Google _"Who wrote Scarborough Fair?"_ it still returns "Paul Simon" which is quite a big mistake for the world's biggest search engine.
This is one of the most true things
It’s a “it’ll be a cold day in hell” kinda song.
Yeah👍
Between the salt water and the sea sand. All about beautiful Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England 🌊🌊
I actually went to Scarborough university in England, it is the city this song is about ❤️
Anyone in the global pandemic watching this masterpiece?
Yep!!

and a keyboard? lol there is a band, and this is also a fully fledged audio production, the engineers and musicians supporting them would be insulted to be told otherwise.

Possibly the greatest and most beautiful song ever recorded.
Even before it was ever recorded, people were jamming to this shi
I Love This Song! The music is catchy and the lyrics are interesting!💗
There are no words to describe the beauty of their song.
It's not their song, Paul Simon just covered it, he didn't write it.
The song was written in England centuries ago about the fair in Scarborough, North Yorkshire
please this song is about 400 years old
@@TonyEnglandUK I know that. But they did a decent version, don't you think?
@@thomassimpson8276 Indeed they did, certainly my favourite version. I don't think it was deliberate on his part but he got into trouble by forgetting to credit the song's origins and including it on his album as if it were his own work.
@@thomassimpson8276Their cover is beautiful but the lyrics are not theirs and even the arrangement was put together by Martin Carthy who taught it to Simon

This song always reminded me of my dad and make me teary everytime. He passed away 4 years ago. We used to sing this song in the car whenever we go on a road trip. Scarborough Fair, Like a Bridge Over Troubled Water and The Sound of Silence will always holds a special place in my heart. I miss my dad so much🌹 thank you Simon and Garfunkel for this beautiful song.

can anyone watch this without tears? can you imagine being in the audience when this song began??
I would want my guitar, so I could play along.
I am learning it now 🙂
Came for the capo position, stayed for the music. Just the most beautiful guitar song.
This makes me tear... Not only because the song they sing is beautiful, as well their voices, but because this kind of true musical magic is not the norm today as it was back then... Real, music, real Artists with real talent... Thank you, Paul and Art for your blessed music.
Sang not sing
Muhammad Rheno Bhaskoro pardon me, but what are you? The 'Correction Police'? There are far more worst use of words right here on UA-cam than what I mistakenly used here... Thanks for being a drag... Btw, your name alone is a census agent's nightmare.
As much as I understand what you are saying, even by the old standards, Simon and Garfunkel were above the norm
By "back then" I assume you mean the middle ages?
This is a beautiful old English folk song and S & G made it magical and timeless with their angelic voices harmonising!

Love This Song! 💗💗💗💗
After Simon stole and copyrighted Martin Carthy's guitar arrangement the day after Martin taught it to him.
Not very sporting, but still a superb version.
@@jamesrobert4106 yes,I glossed over that part!🤔
When I was young, my mind was blown that Woodstock was almost 1/2 million people - and I regretted not being able to go. Then 12 years later, here I was in Central Park in an even bigger crowd. The concert was magical. I see the footage of the audience and it's moving to say "I was there". (over to the left just beyond that orange boom/crane). Peace & Love, for sure.

The harmonies in this song are some of the most intricate I have heard in a duet number. They both trade off on the harmony part and that takes special skills and these harmony parts are DIFFICULT.
Terrill White Everly Brothers
Try to find the version of this they did with Andy Williams on his show. That's even more amazing.

Simons voice is haunting and sounds celtic
It often gets credited as a Celtic song but it isn't. Its a medieval English folk song. Scarborough is on the north east coast of England.
I love that they aren’t singing over one another. A true harmony. Beautiful.

A beautiful old English ballad brought back to life with a touch of genius.
This beguiling, hypnotic old English folk song, just popped into my head today.

Paul Simon is a music genius.
This song truly captured the essence of the Renaissance and gathering at the Scarborough Fair.
They had no idea of the beauty they created together. They had no clue how far reaching the impact of the souls they would inspire, like me all these years later.
Before our lives end, I wish to see these two sing together once more.
I was at this concert with my then fiance to see a free show by Simon & Garfunkel on September 19th 1981 with 500,000 other people..

I remember watching it in 1981 in Manchester, England, when I was 16. I got shivers when they announced the number of people there: 400,000 [bear in mind they only expected 10,000]. Apparently that part of New York came to a standstill! A testament to superb music!

The harmony between these two is perfection
Many here have commented how Garfunkels voice stands out and its so true, but actually, Simon has the most difficult part, the way he controls the direction of his voice to create the soul of their songs. Watch this video and listen to him carefully.
