I have heard, seen and played many versions of this piece over the years but yours stands out as one of the best and what an ending! Definitely a little bit of wizardry going on there. No shortage of brain , heart or courage in the man who did the arrangement. I must get the score and see what sort of a mess I can make of it.
A really awesome arrangement. Many artists don't catch the style of Somewhere over the rainbow, but you did it perfectly. I'm only sad because just like in the song, I'll never be able to play that well.
I’ve listened to this artist play this song a million times. I love it every time. He’s so good. Every note and every transition is perfect. I know blah blah blah but I’m impressed every time. I hear something I missed the 1,000 x’s before. This is absolutely perfection.
hi, David. Very nice indeed. "Rainbow" has always been an all time favorite with my daughters. As a jazz enthusiast with classical training I will finally take the time to write down another "easy palatable" arrangement like yours. (The Shearing-like for piano always haunted me) Thank you very much for the inspiration. 2nd topic. Your "Rohe' " guitar. I had just worked through a bunch of comments (GSI) about French luthiers with English names living in Paris ( 4h of driving) and Rohe' in Strasbourg (1,5h). The same old story, over and over again. Image and place in history, famos names and prices. After recent profound research among young German luthiers in the 2 most reknowned shops and a festival with "blind" evaluations of 8 models by "rising stars" and already well-established with waiting-lists ... I abondon my plan to visit Mr. Rohe'. Nice sound but ... I'd rather buy a new compact car for that price and play one of MY treasures which easily touch that sound level😎
David, Just listened to this again and am just starting to work on it. Fantastic arrangement, playing, and of course guitar! And I have long loved Eva Cassidy's version, so I particularly appreciate this one.
Superb craftsmanship and emotive subtleties. Unquestionably the most expressive performance out there. Simply wonderful playing. I'd love to get a copy of your arrangement to add to my own personal repertoire.
I've listened to various arrangements of this song and I think your arrangement is the cleanest and fits the guitar best. It is especially impressive that it starts with a high note at the beginning. I'm Japanese and I like Takemitsu Thor's arrangements, but I became a fan after listening to your arrangements.
Great, great arrangement. It would have worked well in the 1939 film I believe. Great things do come from you Mr. Jaggs. Anticipating your next work. God bless.
Merry Christmas and happy new year 2016. You managed to post it at last :) Beautiful arrangement by the way... It's for my daughter. I use to sing it to her at bedtime.... she's already 10 now but often asks me for a bis. I will surprise her with this....quite frankly, my voice is not that melodious anymore. Great execution by the way. Regards.
So nice. Well done and thank you. I'll first try this on chords and singing but after I've mastered Für Elise I'll definitely will start with this one. I'm enjoying your arrangement of Fúr Elise every day by practising.
Stunning arrangement as always, the setting is awesome as well which church is it, I see many of your performances done in this setting and no one mentions how beautiful this place is.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. I wish I had you as my in person teacher. Why dont you hold a master class? You'd be swamped with eager students like myself too learn from you
As an old man who started learning guitar not long ago, I would not be able to participate to your master class, but I would love to attend. And David, this is the most moving version I ever heard of that melody. Claudio
Emotive! Full of feeling...get the message across without any problem. Thanks for sharing it with us. Is the music score available to the general public? Thanks.
A beautiful arrangement, David. I hope to learn to play it. Following the link to the website, the music can be downloaded, but it comes with both tabs and notation. Is there a version with just the notation?
Hi David , i think you play your guitar beautifully. I met you in the malvern show a few weeks ago and I brought three CDs of you. I was with my dad and sister, iv got blonde short hair. Do you remember me ?. Iv played the CDs and I love them. My name is Linda broadhurst .
Wow, I don't like how the one part of the main melody is rushed but... Wow! The best part of this is the accomplishment of a musician who takes his life seriously. I'm a hack musician who wasted any talent I had.
The trouble with watching these videos is that I want to play all these songs. I am sitting here at work thinking; "OK, if I leave work early I could get some more practice in. Maybe I could play this." Trouble is that it will take me weeks and weeks.
@@davidjaggs Yes, you are right. I practice daily. I don't mean to sound like a fawning fan, but when I watch people like you play I get anxious to get back on the guitar. I am looking forward to someday hopefully playing nearly as well.
David, the tablature of your arrangement for this is piece is not correct in some of the measure. The SW you are using is not taking the drop D into consideration for the left hand fingering. Use Sibelius
@@davidjaggs thank you for the beautiful arrangement, the beautiful playing and for making me cry. So hauntingly beautiful. I miss hearing music played like this where the instrument is allowed to shine on its own and there's no fancy frills. Exquisite!
So beautiful 🎉
Thanks for watching, Nick! 😊
Beautiful. It's rare to find an honest version of this amazing song that hasn't been drowned out with flashy embellishments.
Beautiful. I would like to fly over the rainbow right now.🌈✈
Thanks!
Such a wonderfully empathetic, engaging and thoughtful musician.

By far and without doubt! THE BEST VERSION, second to none.
I was waiting for applause after the outro! Wonderful.
Thanks
Old wine as to concert music...inspiring to a fellow guitarist way down the line. ... love your music so much
Thanks for watching Ron!

A really awesome arrangement. Many artists don't catch the style of Somewhere over the rainbow, but you did it perfectly. I'm only sad because just like in the song, I'll never be able to play that well.

I love what music makes with people. Other than at the rest of the Internet there is No hating, No Flaming, just peaceful listening... :)
Q. - where do you weigh a pie?
A.- somewhere over the rainbow.
Great playing as usual.
Whatever you do, don't miss the Stephanie Jones rendition of this arrangement by Mr. Jaggs.

Hi David,
Love your playing. I was wondering if I can find and purchase this arrangement anywhere? I would very much like to learn it.
Have you got the music score for this one? I can't see it on your website. Thanks
