Product Notes:
The family of carbon aero wheels is further enhanced with the 45 mm profile, designed to appeal to a broader customer base. The design of the rim enables maximum aerodynamic penetration, and at certain angles, the wind can actually become a valuable ally to the rider. Aerodynamic aluminium rims and hubs and ceramic USB cup-and-cone bearing system in the hubs themselves: every design choice has been made with a view to optimising performance.
The 19 mm internal diameter of the rim enables tyres of 23mm, 25mm and 28mm to be fitted. In addition, with the 2-Way Fit version, Campagnolo offers its tried-and-tested technology with full compatibility with clincher and tubeless tyres. While the key purpose of these wheels is to deliver extreme performance, safety is also guaranteed by the Campagnolo AC3 (All Conditions Carbon Control) technology, which ensures safe, modular braking in all weather conditions. Available versions: bright and dark label, Campagnolo FW or HG11 body
Benefits
45 mm… but aero
The rim design enables the maximum amount of aerodynamic penetration when the wind angle is between 12° and 19°, making it a thrust for triathlon athletes.
The streamlined design of the central part of the hub decreases the frontal area of the component whilst the special design of the flanges favours airflow detachment
The elliptical aero cross section with 18 front spokes results in a far superior rolling resistance
Fast and…fluid
The well-known USB cup-and-cone bearing system guarantees smoothness in the ceramic bearings
The 2-Way Fit profile allows you to mount either a clincher tyre or a tyre which offers the least rolling resistance possible: the tubeless tyre
The 19 mm inner diameter enables you to mount 23, 25 and 28 mm tyres, with perfect pairing of the rim-tyre system
Choose aero... but make it Campagnolo
Campagnolo's rideability is enhanced by the 45 mm profile, despite the aerodynamic design of the rim
The wheel structure enables reducing energy dissipation, transferring all the energy produced by the cyclist to the asphalt
A 45 mm profile and a weight of less than 1,500 g for the pair makes this wheel ideal for riding on hilly routes
Technologies
Ultra Smooth Bearings (USB) - Their ceramic USB - Ultra Smooth Bearings guarantee extremely high smoothness.
G3 Geometry - G3 geometry: reinvent the wheel, not just its look
AC3 - The introduction of the meticulously researched textured design of the rim brake area creates a surefooted stopping power that is reliable and potent no matter what the weather will throw at you.

These wheels are ridiculously good. Absolutely love my WTO 45s. Thanks the the quality video!
Always had Campy, went to Zipp (202) with my new bike... they are now gone and I'm on Bora. So much happier.
Hi Chris! I have been watching this review of yours many times over to hype myself up with these wheels, and now I have them and having some KMs on it, your explanation of everything is on point! Great review and thank you!!
Best review of these on UA-cam. All convinced.
Really well done review! These are far, far more helpful to the average consumer than the stuff produced by GCN, bikeradar etc.
Went tubeless now back to lightweight tubes. I hardly get puncture as i never wear tyres to the maximum. Removing tyres then cleaning old dried out sealant then resealing every 3 months is a chore. Running low pressure is all the rage but after trying that i found my times dropped then back to tubes with 100psi and best times again. My mtb has sealant and works well albeit the chore of refreshing sealant.
Loved the video Chris and the “watch until the end” Marvel film type scenario was cool 😎👍
dunno why you don't more subs. by far the best edited (quality and content ain't bad either) videos from the cycling 'tubers. greetings from new jersey btw
Bora are tired and tested. I have had them all, Lightweights , Reynolds, Enve , Mavic etc etc, but I came full circle and back with Campagnolo
I'm waiting on my Craftworx Ultima C50's to arrive, really looking forward to fitting them up.
Great content as always Chris.
I just wanna let you know that every word you have mentioned there is on flick and totally agree. I have realised that riding Bora ultras especially with the AC3..👌 THREE WORDS! .... AWESOME BRAKING PERFORMANCE!!
Again,. Thank you for your video clip,. Can't wait to get a set of WTO soon and experience TL 😊. stay well! 😊🙏
A proper review with no marketing nonsense that tells you nothing
Campy here for me too! Dig you and your crews experience, very similar- zero complaints!
I didn't know Chris makes ASMR outros. Just kidding. Keep up the great content!
Chris - love the guys experience being shared. It would be great in reviews if they could say could mention the top 1, and then also add the next best 2 best & 3 red best
Love the sound check at the end :D
I have a set of Shamal 2 way fit I've flogged the snot out of for 8 years, still in perfect true and a set of Bora One 50mm tubulars that have had a heap of use too, still in perfect true, bearings all perfect. They have survived countless fast descents down shit backroads in the Tweed.
Expensive (unless you are a champion bargain hunter like me) , and worth every cent. The Italians always manage to combine beauty, performance and function like no-one else.
Also, don't feel you need to do that silly spinning sound check thing.
Campy balance their wheels beautifully!
Great video, I am running Bora One 50´s with a clincher setup and Chorus mechanical for more than 3 years now and about 25k kms. Never had a problem, good breaking, great performance and they look like new. I only had a problem 6 months back with one of the bearings in the rear failing. This was easy to fix, so apart from that I absolutely love them.
Im on bora ultra 35 for 2 years now . Ridiculously fast . Oh and they look killer. next up bora ultra 50.But I do like the look of these WTO.could be on the radar
I’m using the disc brake version of these wheels. They are lovely.
These could be my next wheel s.They have a lot to live up to as I already have Bora Ultras which are IMHO second to none.....good vid...
totally agree mate, the Ultra’s are absolutely next level. look the 1400g might be a bit for you to get your head around, especially when we are talking about a premium wheel set, but we have certainly found the rolling makes up for it
Awesome review. Thanks
yes great video - more please
Just got a pair of WTO 45 rim after I killed my Bora Ultra 50 rim recently, love the wheelset 🥰
Well I’ve watched the video several times, and took the plunge today by clicking the order button 👍
I’m about do the same. How are they so far?
Frankie Alston they are brilliant, I’m replacing a set of Mavic cosmic pro wheels with these and they are lighter, faster, more responsive on climbs, roll faster, and have more lateral stiffness, I can’t get brake pad rub on the Boras when I’m full gas out of the saddle, and I’m running the pads really close, you won’t be disappointed
I think the price is a big factor, been using campag for 35 yrs i bought my first campag C record Delta group set from Shane di Grandi Melbourn shipped to Sydney 35 yrs ago cost me a small fortune back then . i do like these wheels.
.
😂😂 loved that ending.
I was going to say that Jay was testing the braking surface Everesting today. But the way he flew down Ainslie today would seem to suggest that he didn't brake much.
Always Campy
Tried so many others
But honestly bora ultra still my favorite next to shamal mille
Liam Shaughnessy agree. Nothing compares to Bora Ultra
Hey what you think Shamal Ultra vs Bora One 35 tubular
Great video. I just bought the Bora Ultra WTO 60 with the 19mm internal rim width because I don't want to run wider tires than 25mm. The new, 2024 Bora Ultra WTO C23 has a 23mm internal width, and I don't think running a 25mm tire would work very well.
Finally a video about WTOs :) Definitelly they are in my wishlist, only thing what worries me is their unique G3 pattern. I never had similar wheels like those or Zondas, and worrying what would happen if for some reason you would break a rear spoke? Could you emergency true it and slowly ride home without damaging frame with a wobbly wheel or this would be impossible? Other question: does tubeless tyres fit normally or too hard on theese wheels, like 25 mm GP5000s or Vittorias?
Great video! I would be very interested in the Campy groupset experience ;)
Thanks Chris for the laugh at the end.
Hey Chris, thanks for sharing some great insight on the WTO 45s. I wanted to reach out and ask if you had any experiences with the campy bora ultra 35s. If so, what are your thoughts on the bora wto 45s vs. bora ultra 35s? Would you still pick the WT0 45?
I’m looking for an all-round wheelset and narrowed it down to these two wheelsets. I live around hilly areas so climbing would be a huge factor. I’d appreciate any recommendations you or anyone else may have. Cheers!
Thanks for the review Chris, another great video, from my experience with Campag wheels the only reason I would be reluctant to buy these is the durability of Campag freehubs, the bearings in them just seem so prone to failing, it became so bad with my wheels, I used to buy a set of 8 bearings at a time, which would just about last 1 year! You notice a slight roughness when putting the power down at first, if you remove the rear wheel you can then feel the roughness in the rear axle, removing the free hub sees the axle running smooth again, the good thing is that you can service the freehub yourself, but we just shouldn’t have to do this, I also run some Mavic cosmic wheels which have been completely trouble free, also DT Swiss wheels which we all know are almost indestructible and I have Bontrager wheels and hubs which have so far been indestructible, in the end I got rid of my Campag wheels as I was sick of fitting bearings to the freehub, it isn’t just myself either, a club mate runs Campag wheels and has the same problem with the freehub bearings, I would be very interested to see an update from yourself in another 6 months to see if you experience the same issue, one hopes Campag have resolved it 🤞🏻
Thanks Chris, I have bought the wheels, and they are very, very, nice!
I think you’ve had trouble with high tpi cotton/poly tubeless tires?
I would like your opinion, as I would like to run them for comfort in a 25 mm , but I have had trouble in the past mounting them on Enve wheels.
Please advise ,and thanks!
I have a set of Bora WTO 33. Mine were incredibly difficult to mount the tyre to the rim.
Im happy with my campy WTO45
Hey Chris any experience with the bora 33 vs the 45s? Also what tire size were you riding in the video? 25 or 28? Doing 3 peaks soon and considering an upgrade. Cheers
Thanks for this guys, great content. I think I missed the section where you went through the negatives... seriously though, like Liam I’m weighing up the 45s v the 60s and would appreciate if Jesse or anyone else can compare? In particular how stable are the 60s in a cross wind?
What brake pad are you running with the AC3? I'm finding they chew through my SwissStop Black Prince's on my Bora One's in the space of a couple of months. Great performance but EXPENSIVE!
I have 2 sets of Bora’s 35 and 50mm (not WTO) they are bullet proof, 1 set has 30000km on them and they have been faultless. I look after my stuff but I use it all the time and will ride on dirt and gravel roads, oh yeah I’m 100Kg! I have Zipps and Enve’s, great wheels but both have had significant issue! I could buy 2.5 sets of Bora WTO for the cost of the Enve’s
I have the Bora One tubular and I just love them. Have been looking at WTO but they only have it as a clincher wheel. What about the heat when you break, how does it affect the tire? Has been an issue in the past and that why I went with tubular 3 yeas ago. Do you recommend to do the shift, from tubular to clincher regarding the heat?
I have carbon wheels with disk and tubeless so I´m familiar with the system. I just have this issue with massive heat build-up around the tires. What do you have to say about it? No worries?
@Chris Miller: without a doubt great wheels, but ...
1) what if you puncture with tubeless: you have to mess around with milk.
2) Do you need above 8 bar pressure for an inner tube to pop the tire into the rim bed? That's also a problem with a puncture when you use
a Co2 Tool.
3) From my experience all kind of tires need a lot of force to pull on tubeless rims. How is it with the WTOs?
wow to the wto
So I just purchased those wheels BORA 33 I'm really excited but Same time I've been really nervous about how they perform against tubular version of Campagnolo Bora Because there just awesome wheels handling is so Impeccable. what's your opinion comparing to BORA ONE TUBULAR ..vs BORA WTO are Tubeless set up supposed to feel faster and dose it match up with tubular set up ?
Chris
Always enjoy your content on your channel, mate !😎🏁
Have you had a chance to compare the WTO vs BORA wheelsets ?
Can you do a more detailed video on the process of setting up the WTO in Tubeless comparing using a compressor vs a floor pump?
This will be GREAT !!
I have been a #campagnolo user for over 20 years!!
All of my Road bikes are equipped with various generations of #campagnolo
10speed RECORD and 11 speed SUPER RECORD!!
My wheelsets are mostly #campagnolo/
#fulcrumwheels , #ursus 🇮🇹🏁🇮🇹
I'm currently running roval clx 50s from 2019 but was looking to replace with these , would it be worthwhile or am I wasting my money ,would love your opinion
Have a set of Bora WTO 60s waiting for me when I get home in 2 weeks. I hope they are indeed durable on long precipitous descents. Have already been thru 2 sets of Reynolds wheels which have delaminated despite feathering the brakes!
John M Brown hi may i ask what it means “despite feathering the brakes”?
@@SrMXP-on2cu " feathering " means appying pressure to the rim brakes in light and measured applications so that the rims do not generate heat. This method is preferred over a hard and long pull on the brake levers in order to slow down and / or stop.
John M Brown ok 👍🏽 many thanks. For example descending you pull 2,3 times for 15 seconds instead of going 2 times full for 8 seconds. Did I understand u correctly?
They’re outta my league ( & budget) but would be great on my TCR !
I have these wheels and it flexes under load. I’m about 180lbs, and I don’t know if it’s my weight. I hear brake rub when riding out saddle. I don’t have this issue with my 303’s.
These guys are right about the braking; these wheels stop on a dime -- awesome braking surface.
Hey Jan, One of the guys did mention a little bit of this flex. He took it to the shop and just made sure the hub was sent it again and it hasn’t been a problem since. Might be worth trying that
@@ChrisMillerCycling Just sold it and went with another Zipp 303
Can you tell me please, what brake pads are supplied with the wheels? I have Potenza brakes (which take Shimano style pads, unlike higher end campag groups, which use campag style pads). Does boras with campy freehub come with campag style pads, or they all come with shimano style pads?
Im waiting for the Bora Ultra version of the WTO’s.
15:39 Could've gotten an extra 3 min of spin time if you charged them up correctly.
Anyone experience about ZIPP firecrest 404 and Bora WTO 60 which one better? I'm looking for install both of one this on my TT bike.
I know it's a stupid question, but are these decals removable? I prefer clean look without any labels.
Hi I’ve always felt Campagnolo gets a bad rap love their wheels and I’m currently riding with Campagnolo groupset Chorus mechanical and have had no problems would like to see a review on the groupsset
I ride Ultegra and Chorus mechanical. Chorus is quicker and has way, way better-designed hoods. Three instant clicks on the Campag down-shift rather than one big push and release for one gear change means the downshift is a dog on the Ultegra and leads to spinning legs when you drop the front mech is bad design.
Hi.what do you advise for gran fondo Whith a lot of D+?bora wto 45 or 33?
Thanks
I made some wheel testing during the winter (Zipp, Bora one, Bora ultra, Bora WTO). I went for the WTO without any discussion, they were simply the best choice. I first bought a pair of 45s for my road bike and then a couple of month later I also bought a pair of 60s for my tt bike. These wheels are incredibly fast, reactive and easy to ride, no discussion. And as mentioned in your video, incredibly good looking, they are pure beauties on a bike. Wouldn't go for anything else and only can recommend!
Do you have any brake pad rubbing when stepping out of the saddle with the 60s ? If so, what is your overall weight?
@@SrMXP-on2cu Did not experience brake pad rubbing with the 60s. My weight is 74kg.
Daniel G. Many thanks
Daniel G. If you only had 1 wheel which would you rather have... the 45 or the 60? I have a road bike and split between the 2. The weight penalty for the deeper wheel seems quite negligible and don’t understand why people is choosing the 45 or the 60. Thanks.
@@David-cc3un Hi, I think that the 45s are best suited for road bikes as more versatile, and would recommend 60s for aero / tt bikes assuming you would use a road bike on hilly or rolling roads and aero / tt bikes on rolling or flat roads. I personally use the 45s on my road bike and the 60s on my tt bike. However, I have been doing some serious climbing with the 60s and my tt bike in the swiss Alps to prepare hilly half-ironman races and have been more than positively suprised by the 60s in hill climbs.
Hi Chris. Enjoyed the video as always.
Can I ask if you have experience with the WTO 60? I’m trying to decide between the 45’s and the 60’s? According to the Campy website there is only 50 grams between them. Makes the 60’s seem worth while?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Hey Liam, most of the guys (inc myself) got the 45s, which was a stock issue rather than a choice as such. So with that limited experience I would still lean towards the 45s, but much of that is just due to the way I like my bike (esp the front end) to feel. Jesse just received a set of 60s, so it will be really interesting to see his thoughts going forward. Chris.
Any updates on the 45 vs. the 60? By the way... very entertaining product review video 👍
@@David-cc3un wondering the same thing. Ordering Ultra 45 or 60 but leaning towards 60. What did you end up getting?
@@norbertibarra9029 ended up getting the 60 for myself and the 45 for my wife. Look wise, 60 all the way. I ride in Singapore and wind is not a big issue for the 60 there.
@@David-cc3un Nice David! Thanks for the feedback and keep riding!
What about a review of yours srm pc8?
It’s so weird watching this video a few days after jay vine finished 2nd in GC on the tour of turkey
Do you ride mountain descents? Any blowouts from rim overheating?
What's the rider weight limit 🤔 and bring back good old fashioned bold white decals on wheels.....
I miss my Zondas.
Hi, how about climbing for wto45? My friend offer me wto45 2nd hand good condition
I have a set of these on order. Do they come with the wheel bags? Also, are the graphics laser etched on the wheels, or are those decals?
Yes, it comes with wheel bags, and the graphics are decals.
Any suggestions on how to choose between the 33 and 45 versions? I've mostly seen 45s tested. Would 33s be better all-rounders? Would they also be more prone to sway? Thanks for any thoughts.
Hey Patrick. I actually haven’t seen a set of 33s in the flesh yeh. For what it’s worth I really don’t think the reduction in weight is worth the added feel of the slightly deeper 45s. Unless I lived in a really hilly part of the world that is.that said, if we are able to ride some 33s, we’ll do a review of them
@@ChrisMillerCycling Thanks for the reply. Would be interested in what you think if and when after testing the 33s - the review of the 45s was great. I guess I'm looking for a do-it-all wheelset, thought 33 might be closer to that need as I've only ridden aluminum rims (Ksyriums and Shamal Milles) to date.
Like those new bora’s.
You are on tubeless now only?
25 or 28?
Jura Stanić 25’s at 72kg I’m running 50psi for endurance rides and bump it up to 60 for racing, super comfy
Jay Vine
That is very low!
I run 28 mm on 70 psi,64 kg
@@mikicastan yeah i like the really low presure set ups ! I have my training wheels set up with maxxis pursuer 25mm tires with tubes and i run them at 65psi!
I have been running campag for years, a lot of the tech is in the brake pads, not the rims, I am running the old bora ultra 2 wheels (tubular) and these things stop in the dry, unbelievable with the red pads, as good as any disc wheel, so easy to lift the back wheel.
I do think Campag are going the wrong way with carbon clinchers, even if they are tubeless, they are just clinchers at the end of the day and the softening of the resin is a issue on the brake track, why they went disc brakes to move away from the problem. Tubulars don’t suffer from 120psi behind the brake track so I don’t no why they went this way for their top wheel.
Devel is a Filipino brand. #ProudFilipinoHere
wow! would like to see one in person I hope.
Its a nice bike! Already carbon and ultegra gs i think? Dreaming of having one
👍
Кампа Бора ультра, Лучшие.
Filmed on a 1972 Casio Calculator?
I am considering a Bora Ultra 35 or Bora WTO 33; I don' really ride fast enough to achieve aerodynamic gains.(usually about 32 km/hr cruising; avg speed about 28-29km/hr), Googled and saw Bora Ultra on CULT and Bora WTO on USB with both on cup-and-cone bearing system. But i couldn't find much information on the comparison of these 02 bearing systems but seems like CULT bearings are on a higher cutting edge; anyone owns both Bora Ultra and Bora WTO to comment on the differences? Thanks!! : )
I had the fulcrum racing 3's (which are campy zonda's i believe) and they are still the stiffest wheelset i've ever had. Stiffer than custom wheels, stiffer than custom carbon wheels. Super stiff untill you snap some spokes, but I gave them a serious beating
Not quite the same, the spoking is different, the fulcrums use a 21 spoke rear, the campy use G3 spoking, but Campy own Fulcrum
Gloss rims? I dont think so
Good review. As cycling experts you lot should know how to pronounce Campagnolo though.
Sucked straight in. Paused the video, sorry, to Google the wheels and prices... wow, $3000.00 give or take for the pair. That's a lot of dough.
Buy the fulcrum versions same company.
I paid $1790 for mine.
Camp - An - Yolo
Good video! But all the filters and effects on the guys testimonals drag it down.
why's the video quality of your team mates so bad?
DanTuber He did that as an effect!
Only reason I wouldn't get those wheel is because I run Shimano..... Philistine I know.
There's a Shimano/SRAM version.
Why were you not wearing pants during the wheel spin test? 🧐
the dude that sounds like crocodile dundee, I can't understand a word he's saying, otherwise a great review/user experience.
I wouldn’t buy theme because the rims crack whey to easy.
I think the reason i wouldn't buy one is the compatibility (or lack of) with Shimano
There's a shimano freehub option.
you mean like Shimano Gruppos? I got Ultegra with WTO 45's.
@@gwatson7124 thats good. didn't know that
Well it is very easy to change the freehub to shimano or back to Campy. In fact I run a shimano cassette with my Campy groupset, work perfect. 12 speed is another story as Shimano aren’t there yet, but it might be quite possible they can be interchanged too.
They ARE pure sex
Nothing but positive feedback makes for a less credible review. There are wheels for everyone, which suggests there are wheels less ideal for some. To slap on a 5-star review without really digging into any drawbacks makes this a lousy review.
Thanks for the feedback Gregory
@@ChrisMillerCycling haha I see what you did there 😉
