New official music video out! ua-cam.com/video/jUIdwAyHG18/v-deo.html
Once the tapping started, it showed the evolution of 2005 metalcore to modern metal.
lots of tappity taps now. Even Deathcore taps now.
All sounds exactly the same
Yes, "evolution"...
The metronome added some extra flavor to the riff, I like it
You mean the “punctual drummer?”
@@clarkcant4818lol
@@clarkcant4818noo but the sounds actually sounded good as notes I liked it too
You have some of the most impressive rhythm with your picking hand I've ever seen.
I mean he is using a metronome
@@-zod-4882 Like everybody...?
@@masterbomber98 exactly 😐
@@-zod-4882 are you suggesting that practicing with a metronome is a bad thing?
@@willb3486 no
Bass almost sounded like Unsainted for a second lol
I thought that too hahaha
Or like a forest the Behemoth version
Yes bro ahahaha
the best musicians steal others' ideas and change them a little bit
@@saccsmachine9000 good artists copy. Great artists steal.
A lot of new/intermediate players don't realize this is how to write cool riffs. They think it'll just happen all at once. The ideas just come out awesome right off the bat. That happens occasionally but I write almost everything this way. I'm usually just noodling around while watching TV and something cool will pop out then I basically dissect what I'm doing and embellish it or build it into something else.
I think of it like building a house. First you need a foundation, then your structure, now take that structure and decorate it however you like. Sometimes I grab the acoustic to write metal riffs to kind of force myself to start simpler. Plus, if it sounds good on acoustic, it's definitely gonna sound good on electric. AND since an acoustic doesn't sound metal, when you make the switch to electric, hopefully it'll have a unique sound or style that I wouldn't have come up with playing a distorted electric. That's one of the goals anyway
Well said! That's how the greats did it (Opeth wrote all their riffs on acoustic first)
King shit
This is what I aim for when I try to make riffs. Even if I’m just noodling on one string and I’ll go and figure out where I can play it easier and that’ll open up a whole new place or sound I can put into the song.
@@RohannvanRensburg Not surprising! I like Opeth
Agree, Agree! Bringing out the acoustic I agree with too! 👏
The metronome is my favorite part of any modern metal song.
Lol
god that tap sweep and lick at .32-.36 is just in saaaaaaaane props my guy. i gotsta get me some tabs for this.
Bro I need too
You'll never advance to this level if you rely on tabs. Slow it down and use your ear
i know man, it’s just incredible. i’m learning a lot more about different scales and modes in general recently i’ve been taking lessons from miles dimitri baker and he’s such a good teacher. never really learned anything like that the guy that taught me when i was young taught me chords and how to read tabs and it’s gotten me pretty far. sweeps were tricky. everything was shapes for me before this it makes a lot more sense now.
@@RohannvanRensburg He can literally learn this by using tabs. You can learn about music theory by using tabs. Yes, developing your musical ear is important, but saying you can't get to that level with tabs is merely showing, that you don't know what you are talking about. Also, that you're probably a boomer.
@@stevie_stevens7134 Great teacher! Crazy good. Garrett Peters is his friend and they used to bounce students back and forth depending on what they wanted to learn
That sounds amazing bro!
Irony is he is joking on this monotonous music 😅
Yoooooo, this was soooo siiiiick \m/
I love how you added layers to this riff every 4 bars. The chords, the rhythm, the melody, the metronome, I love it all!
Also, just found you today. This video convinced me to sub.
This NEEDS to be a full song
okay so
-walking bass
-countermelody
-flourishes
Your precision is impressive! Very accurate and your natural groove is really inspiring
Thanks for taking the time to subtitle your videos and explain the techniques you're utilizing. I appreciate the attention to detail and perspective you provide within EVERY one of your posted videos. Thanks G.
Those chords were sick 🔥
"Do you need drums?"
"No thanks, already got it"
Your playing is fantastic 🔥
This one goes right to ALL my playlists
That’s actually really useful for riff construction, ty
Another video which proves to me this channel is a pure gem
That bend at 0:30 gave me an eargasm
It was interesting to see you break it down like this thanks for sharing.
That actually sounded really cool
coolest thing ive ever seen for learning guitarist, even though i don't have full control you can still implement this theory immediately into noodling around
Beautiful showcase of riff building. 👏🦖
THIS GOES SO HARD
i love classical style compositions. it shows how versatile classical can be.
i love the sound of the pick, almost louder than your amp
Ah. Love listening to your tunes first thing in the morning. 🤘🏽
Amazing! Thank you for making this informative video!
Fire on my fingers 🔥
Cada vídeo tuyo da ganas de levantarse y coger la guitarra, eres increíble tío.
Wow that's actually a pretty great riff, and surprising how fun this is with a metronome
this is actually my favorite riff
Great riff as always
ok so how do you just suddenly make a killer melody like that
Sounds like a Darkest Hour song.
This helped a ton! Thanx!
This man has single handedly made me interested in metal guitar again.... Dude is a beast... Subscribed... never disappointed with a single video you make 😎💪
HOW IS YOUR RHYTHM SO GOOD?!!
Modern music is the most creative and original than ever. Some may say we’re in the golden age of music, especially rock/metal!! (Following his theme of Sarcasm for those about to reply with pitchforks 😂)
Yeah, I love ingenuity of pop artists. And I'm just so happy for the punk rock doing great!
Don't forget that listening to music has become very accessible
Great video bro
ergonomic frets is crazy (i’m a beginner, i don’t know a whole lot about guitars and the techniques)
Sounds amazing dude!
Hey! Thank you, made my day!
....Wow that my good sir is impressive. I could listen to that all day. In fact I'm playing that for a second time.
thank you
Awesome 🤘🏻
This was actually so sick tf
and it is so perfect this way
YOU HAVE TO MAKE A FULL SONG OF THIS!
TABS are the perfect option, but i suppose no one would be capable of playing that riff)))
The riff in the video? You even have a direct camera on the fretting. Should be easy to work out. Doesn't sound like it's dropped far, either. Maybe drop C if anything.
Nevermind, it's standard on a 6 because it's a 7. Low is probably D#.
Yeah just drop D and good distortion will give you anything that sounds decent, just remember to keep on hambucker single coils sucks at metal
I like how there's both amp and clean air sound
The infinite source of human emotion that comes from within is famously difficult to capture in most of our forms of communication. People write poetry, music and law that inspires and unites - and sometimes alienates, all in unison in an atempt to truly comprehend the divine beauty of - what THIS is - ...reality. Not everyone is capable of doing this with aplomb but kudos to those who try to create art in their own attempt to capture this source of "purpose".
Then there are people like yourself, above them all, able to create something that can actually describe an impressive portion of the divine and you spend your time dunking on those that try. Your prize is youtube impressions.
Music is the purest expression of the sacred and it is so difficult to create anything that breaks the mould. You shouldn't sneer at anyone who isn't as capable as yourself at doing it - just respect that they feel the purpose of it too and you are both on the same path towards finding - or expressing to others, meaning
This is my favorite one yet
Okay wowowow i feel like im learning something here
Yeah sounds like modern symphonic black metal
That sounds absolutely awesome! 🔥What guitar is that?
This is the best riff i have ever heard
that was so fire cant stop listening
Nicely broken down, that gave me some ideas. Thanks!
those downstrokes are personal wahahaha
Amazing brother!
this.. this makes sense..
This guy is just killing
I love this
my hands died just watching down pick this
you are the Tuck Andress of Metal
harmonic minor scales are my favourite
Easily my favourite guitarist online atm
This sounds a lot like Witcher 3 music especially when the barre started, and i think it'll be absolutely cool, if someone made a cover or a mashup
best lesson
This channel is fucking awesome
Please make an extended version or song with this riff man please
Dude that riff is f*#+ing epic 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

This is actually helpful
Cool video! Getting Akroasis vibes for sure
Sick dude 🔥🔥🔥

So tight

The playing is so clean and that tone is sick, what plugin did you use here?
Love from India 🇮🇳🙏
