Hi I started iracing like 2 hours ago And im getting faster laps but not so consistent yet im almost at sub 1:35 but Your video is making me go a lot faster thank you
thanks for the track guide, I will try your advice! That track is very hard to learn, it's counter intuitive, most corner you need to find the line without any curb on the "real" middle apex. Double corner combo were you decelerate on first corner apex and accelerate before the second corner apex. on some corner if you commit to much you hit the wall. Chicane are really hard to master, keeping speed without unsettling the car, you need to be aggressively smooth and be prepared to catch the car if you hit the curb too much. right now, best lap is 1:33:5 but optimal is 1:32:6. it's hard to get all corner right on the same lap. I don't enjoy that track for now, I wont go to race until I can do 1:32. looking at other people practice session time, I guess I should have good results once I can do 1:32. I'm at around 1300 Irating. Most people wont invest time to learn it properly before racing it.
If you've still time you can totally go racing with those times! The track will change soon so it would be a waste if you don't. I drove a few races this week and only the top 4-5 out of 12 cars could do consistent 32's in the top split. You should be able to race for podiums with 33's at 1300 rating. Yeah, that track is something, I don't like it either. The races also get really messy when people are racing in packs, because there's no room for errors.
@@crexLive Oh, no lol. I am new to iracing, I have only raced okayama and laguna seca in these cars so far and won several races, got within 1.5-2 seconds of your laptimes in your very helpful guides. I have a g920 and the brake pedal feel is garbage, so this track makes it really easy for the rear to step out when braking into high speed corners/chicanes. I think I'll just wait for the next round to do the mx5 again until I have a better wheel/pedal setup that I can adapt to.
They are driven with the baseline setup which is also used in the rookie series! It's in the title because while it's a baseline setup, I'm still sharing the setup I'm using, which didn't apply for all my videos in the past.
Could you do more GT3 tracks please? I find your tutorials more useful than the VRS ones but the older ones you have without voiceover are tough to watch
There are no plans for them in the near future (next 3-5 months) I was forced to take a break at the end of last year, and haven't touched GT3's in ~9 months. I'm out of practice and need to get confident with the cars first before I'm able to put guides for them up again.
Yes, because the distance you need to travel is shorter. The upper side makes only sense if you have a car which can use the banking to reach a higher speed, but the MX5 hasn't enough power for it.
The apron is not part of the race track. Using it is against the sporting code. Just looked it up, it's number 8.1.1.8: "Drivers can only use the racing surface for Qualifying and Racing. The apron and pit road are not defined as racing surfaces. Drivers may not use the apron or pit road to gain an advantage in Qualifying or Racing. Any advantage will be determined by iRacing.com. A protest may be filed through the proper channels for this offense "

As a sim newb, this video is amazing. Thanks!
Love your videos, thank you. Glad you're doing the Mazdas this season. Looking forward to more.

Thanks so much, your guides are awesome!!!
Great tutorial! Thanks!
If you could turn your volume up, that'd be great. Thanks.
Liked and subscribed, new to iracing and have been noticing there’s time to make up but didn’t know what the track limits were like
Welcome to iRacing!
@@crexLive thanks to you I got a win after watching that video
congrats!
very helpful thanks!!! :)
very good !!! thanks
Thank you. Would you consider 1.35 flat decent if i started iracing under 2 weeks ago?
Yeah, it sounds fine =)
This is probably the toughest track on the game for these cars
Have you driven the car during a racing week on Rudskogen yet? You might change your mind after that 😅

🙌🙌🙌best one yet
i see that you have "+setup+" in title of every mazda video. Does it mean that this 1:31,6 is with costum setup or stock rookie setup?

@@crexLive gotcha. Your content is awesome. I’ll tune in whenever you get to it!
Do you use auto clutch ?
No, you don't need to use the clutch in this car because it has a sequential gearbox!
Is it faster to go on the inside of the oval?
Yes, because the distance you need to travel is shorter. The upper side makes only sense if you have a car which can use the banking to reach a higher speed, but the MX5 hasn't enough power for it.
@@crexLive Okay, but I mean the not-banked part under the oval
