- "I Can't Tell You Why" is a classic rock song by the Eagles, released in 1979 as part of their album "The Long Run." It's a smooth, soulful track featuring Glenn Frey on lead vocals and guitar, with Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit providing backing vocals. The song explores themes of love, uncertainty, and vulnerability, with lyrics that express the difficulty of explaining one's feelings. The smooth harmonies and laid-back instrumentation contribute to its timeless appeal, making it a favorite among Eagles fans.
The Eagles were a hit machine, and yes, they had multiple singers for different songs.
You beat me to it!
Yes they all were lead singers, all with their own unique style 🔥
Five men, five singers. Pretty much why they were so versatile. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸
Timothy B. Schmitt is singing lead on this song. Every member of the band sings lead and they have many varied styles. Listen to "Witchy Woman", "Life in the Fast Lane", One of These Nights", Take it Easy" and "Take It to the Limit".
Fabulous Playlist!
This is my favorite Eagles song! There's something special about Tim Schmit's voice! I just love it! ❤❤❤❤
Every Eagle member sings lead on certain songs…. This is why they are…. The Eagles.
The Eagles had a “ you write it, you sing it” policy so the lead singer on this song is the bass player Timothy Schmidt who you usually hear on high harmonies. Don Henley sang the lead on Hotel California, Glenn Frey is on keyboards here but he’s the lead on “Take it Easy” and plays guitar for that. Joe Walsh is on keyboard here too, and he was on the guitar for Hotel California for that fantastic duet, and he sings lead on Life’s Been Good. Don Felder is on guitar here as he was on Hotel California, but he still is singing back up.
The singer of this song is Timothy B Schmidt, who replaced Randy Meisner (who sang lead on the original Take It To The Limit). This one is one of my favorites of the Eagles.
Me too
The late great Glen Fry on keyboard.
I think only Joe Walsh is credited with keys on the album.
1:25 every band member is capable of being lead singer…. this time was completely off the charts with unbelievable musicianship in all genres of music…. we were so damn lucky to be alive then…
Multiple singers. Insane talent. Arguably the most musically gifted band in the past 50 years
Singer on this track, Timothy B. Schmidt
Love this more than Hotel California. Beautiful song and Timothy Schmidt is incredible as the lead vocal.
Most of the Eagles members had solid solo careers as well. So much talent!
All the members sang, and they all sang very well
One of the great rock 'n' roll bands….They all have different styles regarding vocals but each one of them can sing like an angel.
The Eagles created a huge hole to dive into. So much great music from them and from this entire generation. A huge fan base still exists for these guys and this goes back 50 years (or so). Imagine that and the songs are still relevant and beautiful. The vocals, the musicality and the lyrics were amazing! This generation rocked and many still do!!
My absolute most favorite song by Eagles! And All their songs are awesome ❤
Each one of the Eagles has had one or more hits of their own
This is one of their best, love the Eagles! They all sing in the Eagles, they each have their own songs, very talented.
This was on the radio forever at the time.
Eagles Greatest Hits is one of the best selling albums of all time, you almost can't go wrong with an Eagles song 👍😂
Timothy B Schmidt joins the band very late in the game and contributes this hit immediately.
My favorite Eagles song! I grew up in the 70's.
There’s too much to say about the mastery of The Eagles. Many solo careers as well. Joe Walsh-“Rocky Mountain way”
Glenn Frey-“You belong to the city”
Don Henley-“the boys of summer”
All of them were lead singers in their own right, but their primary singers were Don Henley and Glenn Frey. This is Timothy B.Schmidt singing this one. Remember Hotel California? Henley sang that song, and the guitarist with the red bandanna is Joe Walsh, who already had some classic songs before he joined the Eagles. Timothy also had some songs with the band Poco before he joined the Eagles.
God I remember when they first came out and how much EVERYBODY loved them! So talented and still on tour today!
I also love this song, it gives me goosebumps, every time hearing this song. 🎶🎶
Take it easy, Desperado, and so much more.
If you write it, and it makes the album.....it's yours to sing. You write it, you sing it. Band rules. Each one of them is lead quality voice and musical talent.
Each member generally had a song they would sing but the drummer Don Henley was normally the lead singer
They ALL sing! Just depends on the song. And yet it always sounds like the Eagles 👍😎
Eagles, are the best. Love their songs. Nice reaction. Add to your playlist. Nice relaxing song.
FYI, Eagles have TONS of massive, massive hits. I promise you going down this rabbit hole, you won't regret one song!!!!
The Eagles were fantastically talented. Their song “Life in the Fast Lane” has a faster beat and hugely successful.
They're all singers.
All Ready Gone is a good one and my favourite
my very favorite Eagle's song 🤍
EAGLES " THOSE SHOES " Is a fantastic vibe!!!
Generally the writer of the song was given the lead to sing. The Eagles did every style, from country to R&B to rock.
Great reaction bro!! Love me some Eagles:)
Thanks for the great music. I appreciate all your hard work, and heartfelt commentary.
An R&B group, Brownstone, covered this song in the 90s and did it to perfection and ushered in younger new fans to the original version.
I really thought it was their song now I know the originals cause that's the one I was listening too brownstone and I thought they did an amazing job
I was playing softball in Studio City Ca. in 1988 , while waiting for everyone to show up I met Timothy B. Smidt’s Wife and she brought me to him as he finished a pick up basketball game. I got a chance to talk with him a few minutes, definitely a very cool guy. he answered all the questions that I asked him about the Eagles..
EAGLES - " One Of These Nights " (2013 Remaster) and " Witchy Woman " ( 2013 Remaster) ORIGINAL STUDIO VERSIONS from 1975 Remastered for even Better sound. You'll Definitely enjoy these 2 songs too Don Henley on vocals. Definitely check these songs out truly fantastic
Great natural, unpretentious reaction. Best to not expect any specific sound from the Eagles, just artistic brilliance...
I love your reaction to this beautiful song and Timothy's superb vocals!
My favorite eagles song and no i cant tell you why 😂😮😢😊
You should check out Those Shoes and Seven Bridges Road if you want to see just how diverse they could be. ❤
All 5 could sing.
This album itself is full of surprises - check out “The Greeks Don’t Want No Freaks” and “Those Shoes”, you won’t believe it the same group.
They're all lead singers.
They all take turns but mostly Don Henley lead majority.
You need to check out One of these Nights by them. Love the Eagles.
this was Timothy B. Schmidt singing lead
Each respective songwriter sings lead on their song - typically.
Check out another great singer in the group, Randy Meisner, sing Take It To The Limit
My jam!
I think they all sing.
One of these Nights, Desperado, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Take It To the Limit and so many more - All massive hits.
Great song
Love this song! Great reaction!
Good reaction! Keep it up! Subscribed!
The eagles dose have different lead singers, the one in this video is Tim Schmidt, you should also listen to Tim sing "love will keep us alive", it's a beautiful song too
Baby Makin' Music....
Timothy B Schmidt was bass and lead vocal.
checkin in...
Can you please react to their other great hit song " Lying Eyes
❤❤❤
If you like old school music check out ELO Last Train to London
How did you get this through the block?
They all sing, this is the main singer on this
Timothy B. Schmidt; not sure why he goes with that (B.)...
please react to Rotten Mango's video Burning Sun
His name is timothy b smich. Sorry I don't know how it's spelled
No lead singer, although Joe Walsh didn't sing lead nearly as much as the others.
Dude, that’s terrible timing. Slow down. This is a slow dance love song. The singer is Timothy B Schmidt. He replaced Randy Meisner (RIP) who also sang. Glen Frey, Don Henley and Joe Walsh also sang. In fact it’s probably easier to name the members who didn’t sing lead, though they all sang backup and harmony. JD Souther, Don Felder and Bernie Leadon never sang lead, unless I’m mistaken.
Your description incorrect by the way. Where did you get that information. You should check out everything before posting. Otherwise you have no knowledge making you seem ridiculous...so why react.
Tim Schmidt singing lead not Glen Frey as you have written. Please give credit where it's due.
Really makes that hip hop sound kinda lame doesn't it? Real musicians with real talent. It's becoming a lost skill.
