- Winter River Therapy.
It’s not long after the shortest day and we are in the grip of a mid winter trout-less blues epidemic. What can we do?
Well I’m not sure, but what I can suggest is a small course of river therapy, a kind of river walkin’ blues.
Fish Wild is a fee online fishing magazine available at www.fishwild.o... Back in the mid 2000s the original Fish Wild was well received by anglers but died prematurely as these things often do for numerous reasons, in this case mainly lack of time to devote to it. It is available for download as a high or low resolution pdf for online or offline reading.
Issue 2 is now available for download at www.fishwild.o...

Great work Fred. Enjoying the magazine articles too!
Thanks Allan some nice flies in that last issue. 😎
lovely running water .
It is just a lovely place to spend a few hours on a winter day. 😊
Fred excellent production as always. Tight Lines for your New Season it will not be that long now. I have highly recommeded your Free Magazine to many of my fishing colleagues here in AUS. Our season has been going really well this year, plenty of water and lots of rising trout. Thanks again!
Good stuff Norman and thank you. Spread a little happiness in these difficult times! 😊
Top class
Thanks for your comment, nice of you to say so and great you enjoyed it. 😊
Hey hey. Good to see you again. It's 22 days until the start of the salmon and sea trout season on the Almond. I've spent the past few weeks watching youtube videos, sorting my gear, patching waders, and scanning the tackle shops for bargains. Got a few too. You're right that its hard to deal with the winter in Scotland sometimes, so keeping in touch with the river and re-tracing your summer tracks can be hugely therapeutic. Looking forward to seeing how the coming season works out for you, and I might venture out a little further than normal. Tight lines.
Thanks for your response. Yeah it can be tough here in winter and the restrictions don't make it any easier All said and done though it's not long to go now, half the close season is now behind us. I just thought it a good time to post a video of some kind to let everyone know I'm a year older and still alive. 😂
Quality video as always looking forward too the new season coming lol just been topping up the fly box 👍
Thanks James I think we are all looking forward to the new season for sure. 👍
Lovely video sir cold months can be hard but get a few days out fishing for grayling so keeps hand in and its a day out👍👍
Thank you. Every year I tell myself I'm going to have a few winter days at the grayling. There are none in this river, but the Tay system is not far from here and the closest tributary is about a 3/4 hour drive. Sadly the late autumn and early winter brought very high water and I got distracted. Same thing happens every year. I guess I'm just getting lazy. 😉
@@wildfisher ye definitely same with myself but going to start fishing the clyde again for the trout and grayling this season miss fishing the rivers and lochs for wild fish got to lazy in last few years 👍👍
@@neilandrew961 A few mates of mine are regular Clyde fishers and do very well in spring. Some very big fish in there.
Damn, that's got the rod hand a bit twitchy!
😂 I know what you mean. I think I may need beta blockers
