We’re so lucky to have that beach and the river on our door step. Spent many a happy Friday night with the old man fishing for sea trout on that stretch with fly and maggot 👍
Graeme, during the school holidays we used to get the last bus out to Lunan Bay, fish all night then get the 7.00AM bus home next morning. We must have been keen! 😄
Glad you're back and glad you're OK Fred...here's looking forward to a great 2024 of relaxing fly fishing, good health and enjoyment in our local, natural countryside...all the best, take care
Greetings from New England again Brian! I really missed your fishing vids through the summer. I hope all is well with your health and you'll return to the streams in 2024. Locally we had so much rain that our rivers were unsafe to wade for most of the summer. Swinging wet flies across and down on a long line was really the only option. Still it was far better than the previous years drought. Be well.
appreciate the video, if your looking for content to make over the winter, a look at your tackle and how you keep it would be interesting. If possible, if not thank you for your video.
Hi Fred, you're not alone in missing the rising trout as after the mayfly hatch on my rivers the trout just vanished so at the end of the season I started using spiders and had some success. Good to hear you are well and look forward to seeing you back on the river next year. ATB Mike
Glad to see your still doing well! Love your videos new to fishing rivers last season was my first proper season, watching all your videos of previous season taught me a lot such as what flys and reading water and casting in rivers so thank you for that! Looking forward to your next videos All the best
Thanks for posting. Lovely views of wonderful beach with great childhood memories that I now live 420 miles away from. We used to play around the castle despite the ruinous condition and my sister had her wedding reception about 40 years ago in the hotel on the track down to the car park. BTW, this beach was particularly feared by my older relatives who thought there was "sinking sand" just off the shore and used to ban children from swimming there. Cheers. Have a good hibernation.
All the best for the closed season and I hope you have better luck next season and the rivers are in better shape. Hope you are feeling a bit better too, sounds like you had a bad time with covid.
It's good to hear that you are still well and are out and about doing some things post it all it dose have to be all about fishing you live in one of the lovely parts of the island 👍👍

I had assumed that you had morphed into a butterly and flitted off to far distant lands.
I tried that but was attacked by craws and pigeons. 😁😁
