Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines dancefloor vibes are such a spot-on reference to describe music! I also enjoyed the overall angle of slept-on albums instead of the usual top lists, I think it makes much more sense to focus on that given a lot of resources to find consensus picks for top albums. Also, the editing is entertaining and fun as usual! Thanks for a great content, wish you great times in 2024!

As a death core enjoyer I have no choice but to check out some of these albums now.
Also Tyler, another band you should check out is Opal In Sky, their music fucking slaps. ‘The Sacral’ is one of my current favorite songs from them. They are a small not well known band but that’s okay.
I heard a little bit of Opal In the Sky after finding them on TikTok, and though meh, not for me. Not my normal cup of tea. But I actually got curious after a bit and put them on, and I actually like it.

I’d say exogalactic by Xoth was a pretty slept on release this year, and also it’s my aoty. Haven’t heard anyone talk about it and Xoth deserves way more recognition in general

Your channel came up somehow, probably because I'm looking for cool music to listen to when I can, but I just don't have the time anymore to look. This was a pretty comprehensive list of awesome shit! Subscribed.
Final Gasp is everything I am looking for in one. At one point it reminds me of very early Suicidal Tendencies, sometimes it reminds me of early thrash and sometimes I get a huge Killing Joke vibe but I can't stop listening.
Have been on the Full of Hell but Basuko, Brain Tourniquet and Fossilization are also top tier. Rest I still need to go through. Great video, going to dig more into your stuff.
On the note of From First to Last, The Bled's Pass the Flask reissue is also a big 2000's post-hardcore record that has a whiplash rap track at the end. For some reason it was a bit of a trend.

I'm seeing great recs in the comments so I'm throwing my album of the year in there for the people, Night Eternal by Alghol (a one man project from Maine) shredding riffs, earworm synths, and positively evil growling vocals. if you love thrashing black metal go check it out its been on constant rotation

Here is an album that I absolutely love and you should check out: “Keys to the astral gates and mystic doors” (it’s a self titled). It’s a raw black metal/ambient type of thing, and it is just perfect. It’s so cold yet so warm at the same time, it gives me the feeling of sitting in a candle lit room in a castle while it pours outside. Anyway, great album, PLEASE check it out

Also want to give shout out to Burst Synapse, the man when it comes to raw, noisy, breakcore infused cybergrind. Empire Of The Sky is my recommendation for start.

Sunrot's The Unfailing Rope is another great album that came out this year, and so is Obsession Destruction by Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean. Both are super heavy, and Chained seemingly never stops making good music

Agriculture self titled. Amazing.
When No Birds Sang is also definitely a top 10 album for me. In a similar vein there's Fawn Limbs and Nadja. If you haven't heard that one, try it. It similarly combines insane Grind with atmospheric music. Maybe even weirder than FOH&N. Also great video, would love this again next year

I was surprised not to hear of Physique. Awesome D-beat from the US released an album called Again last year. Super good.

Jarhead Fertilizer was new for me, and holy hell does that album rip! Sounds like a blend of Archagathus and Domestic Terror. Definitely a new favorite.
Edit: So glad Mouthbreather got a shoutout, been a fan since they started. Agonal Hymns by Nithing was simply facemelting.
Three albums from 2023 I absolutely loved that deserve more attention are as follows.
Land of Thieves by Ectoplasm.
Utterly blistering anti-colonialism deathcore.
Distortions from Cosmogony by The Arcane Order.
Great mix of tech/melodeath with a sound similar to a heavier Hypocrisy.
Automatic Death Protocol EP by PSYCHO-FRAME.
Absolutely wild. I can't put into words how insane this EP is. These guys are going to explode soon, just you wait. Drummer also has the nastiest snare tone.

my album of the year was the new Fuming Mouth album! They were the first band I saw when I was 14 and I finally got to see them again this year, it was magical.

I haven’t listened front to back a release from full of hell since rudiments but that collab with nothing is everything I love about both bands. An incredible album.
