Dear god. I saw Methods of Madness at Ozzfest when I was like 15. It was actually a really interesting experience. So it started off with Tommy Lee and MOM’s drummer doing a drum duel on I want to say Roland V-drums. And you know what? That part was really cool. Tommy Lee, for whatever the hell else can be said about him, is a legitimately good drummer. But then they started playing their songs. So Ozzfest played pavilions; covered stages outdoors with lawn seating further up the hill. And there were two stages that did a pretty good job of staggering in those first few years. About 2 minutes after the end of the drum duel the crowd basically died all the hell the way down, cut itself in half and legit started gathering at the empty second stage. That badass drum duel bought them 2 minutes of goodwill. Then we were all just like “oh. is this what this is? i think i’ll go stand in the dirt for 20 minutes waiting for idk Apartment 24 or some other bullshit. wherever i end up has never mattered less in my life provided it’s somewhere other than within earshot of whatever this is.”

Honestly thought Devil Daddy was a member of Ghost when I saw the thumbnail.
(hed) PE had around 3 tolerable songs, but the frontman seems like one of the worst people on the planet.
Buckcherry were around in obscurity forever, then turned into one hit wonder with 'crazy bitch', then never did anything significant ever again. Which is a good thing.
That police band better be called Blink 911 or I'm calling the cops.
The guy in the dog facepaint is 100% definitely a serial killer.
The poet/upright bass couple aren't the worst thing in the world. It's not a huge leap from that to the jazz noir slam poetry coffee shops or the likes of Kimya Dawson. Not amazing, not everyone's cup of tea, and a bit pretentious, but definitely passible within certain circles.
Methods of Mayhem were pretty much proof that supergroups aren't always a good idea. Hollywood Vampires are further proof. I love Alice Cooper, but no.
Are we sure Amazing Demon Boy isn't Wednesday 13 on a bad day?

okay, before anyone says "oH jOnAtHaN dAvIs As A dJ iS cRiNgE" "iT's KoRn" "It'S mEtAl" Jonathan used to be a DJ before he joined Korn.

that doesn't really make it less cringey, i have to admit, i sometimes wince at his nonsensical shouts to the crowd or his attempts at dancing.

Fho sho! KoRn is my absolute favorite band and has been since 1998ish. I don't personally get into the DJing type of music and stuff, but if his J Devil persona and DJing makes him happy then I gives no fornications. He has said he was into DJing ever since he was a young teenager. I'm probably not going to listen to it, but that doesn't really matter. JD has also definitely had some cringe worthy moments over the years when he shouts random stuff to the crowd, gets a little excessive with the cussing, and a few times has made me think "wtf was that JD" lol, but once again I really gives no fornications, it ain't hurting anybody. Every celebrity, rock star, or whatever has made themselves look a fool at one point or another. All I care about is that they all stay happy, healthy, clean, and keep making music. I had some feelings when I immediately recognized a show I enjoyed in a cringe compilation here, but y'know for that tour he did his set, some other dubstep dj went on, then went back on again for Korn. I was hella impressed for someone at his age after all that partying going that hard all tour, that's a lot of work. He was so high energy the whole time and looked so goddamn happy to be there.

    • @SoooBUwU
      @SoooBUwU Рік тому

      @@nilnilli right?
he doesn't really get enough credit as a DJ, because he's actually really good at it.
like, even if he sometimes looks like he doesn't know what he's doing, he's still clearly having fun, and that's really all that matters in the end.
honestly, Korn got me into dubstep, because before, i wrote it off as just noise, but when i heard Path Of Totality, it made me realize that there's more to it than just wub-dub sounds and grinding screeching noises.
i know that album gets so much hate because it doesn't sound like Korn, but with Korn, they've always been about trying new things, mixing genres and styles, changing their sound, every album tries something new, and i have to give them props for that, because so many artists are afraid to try new things because they worry their fans won't like it.
i also didn't realize it until Jonathan said it in an interview, but dubstep is just electronic metal, it's loud, it's aggressive, but it has moments of emotion and beauty, and just like with metal, most people write it off as just noise and refuse to listen to it and discover all it has to offer.

16:35 The thing I love about Vomir despite not really being super into his work, which you get more from interviews but makes these clips delightful in hindsight, is that he is 100% in on the joke. The bizarre dry humour of a man sticking a bag over head and just *standing there* while an unchanging wall of noise blares at a tiny audience isn't lost on him, it's part of the point. It's not a joke per se, but it's definitely supposed to be absurd and at least a little off-putting.
(By contrast, there are actually harsh noise artists who are just fun live performers; in particular, I highly recommend looking up an Emil Beaulieu performance sometime. It's basically prop comedy, except unlike prop comedians Emil Beaulieu is actually funny on purpose.)

For most of the world's guitarists, you'd be absolutely right, but three men that I know of have done it successfully, albeit many many years ago - Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Jimi Hendrix. Clapton actually burnt a hole in a few of his Fender Strat's to hold a cigarette. Hendrix stuck them between the strings. They'd play a tricky part of the song, and then when the chords came they'd take a few puffs. Now that I think of it, Jerry Garcia used to do it too, but he'd leave it in burning in an ashtray on his amp at about face level.
LOL I swear I'm not a boomer, and I wish I didn't know this shit.

Why do you wish you didn't know this shit... Will you fuckin stop making me feel so fucking old I'm supposed to be a Xennial, which sounds like a fucking Stan Lee INSPIRED comic... more like a bootleg Jem: truly, truly outrageous? Maybe She-ra? Wait, those are old but they were mainstream cartoons... and what I'm thinking came out of one of those candy machines with these little plastic bubbles and then they would have toys and images of things that weren't copyright protected. So you would give them to a kid who doesn't know that it's not fucking shit it's just garbage. So that's already been what I am, and I had to come to accept it, my whole entire life. I was on the internet and not really part of Gen X but I smell bad and I look funny and shit because I'm not really a Millennial and my only friends were fucking gutter punk rap or alt lit people but I hate what you're doing to yourselves and the way you make it obvious that it's part of your shitty opinion of others, yeah there are really unfortunate things about older people and I'm fine with calling them boomers when they're out of touch but why is it that you feel bad or you think it's cringe for people to know things. You're making me so fucking sad, why the fuck is that generation focused on whether or not you're being conformist and do you not realize it's what you're doing? Gen z just the whole fucking generation somehow missed the memo that acting like the kids who won't let you sit at their table is fucking pathetic... And then these moments where you self-censor are the most fucking sad because I formed plenty friendships with people where I tried to encourage them, and it literally is just bad self-esteem, find out in the end when they really make their true colors clear like that bad self-esteem is also intimately linked to you being comfortable being such bratty fucking assholes to each other and notice that it's normal because it's okay to be a conformist and that's all you need to know apparently and I'm just still waiting for you guys to make value judgments that aren't weak ass cowardly conformity and then maybe we could fucking have conversations again on the fucking internet..
worried about being cringe that you fucking can't even know things anymore you can't even fucking know things anymore what the fuck is wrong with you@@bveracka

Also fgt uploading the video Everlast is one of the few rappers that came from a mainstream thing that kept on being consistent as the years went by, unlike Madchild if you hear him now, if you'd listen to Everlast on Bottle Rocket by the Swollen Members before a rapper like Madchild fell off and reminds me of the guy from the Happy Mondays at this point... Yeah you heard me I hope, thx for the upload fgt I don't even like his shit enough to have ever bought a single thing from him that wasn't just a feature on something else but a lot of that House of Pain is the kind of thing where you... I hope someday you find out in a really humbling just like I even don't mind a crazy humiliating way if it gets the point across... But someday I hope it's obvious to someone that has reasons to care about you that you are out of pocket and you need to get this lesson driven home because I know you're just a kid and no it's not that smart and it's not that serious
But at worst I heard some really low effort Lo-Fi Funk with yeah he was also trying to do country with some of his music he was just fucking around dude like you didn't let it play enough to hear any of the lyricism but that the guy kept on dropping good verses add a time when I would be surprised that he was still making music that was relevant and I've always had a really good impression of him without having to ever buy any of his music
And at one point in time I definitely also associated him with people that would be a little scary for a kid to just think it's okay to take something out of context and disrespect someone that you like what the fuck is wrong with you kids like fucking wrong with you
You fucking saw the Grammy so you know, you had a reason to know that this probably is somebody that is a lot more important than me and you didn't even named him like... Level of disrespect is just so fucking wild to me. I have never heard anything about the band that he might have toured with that would have jammed for him on stage and how amazing they are so I don't really give a shit but I do give a shit about you because his voice sounds different and go meet some fucking Tom waits fans or some shit.
Or you know what nevermind I just think it's obvious that you're a poser and you're going to expose yourself as a poser who doesn't know what they're talking about in numerable ways throughout your lifetime and I don't know I've been editing this comment but I was thinking at some point in your life you might just have someone laugh at you in a way where they can laugh with you and you might just be humbled and realize if it wasn't actually that funny of a joke who the fuck was I kidding trying to profit off of feeling Superior to someone that is like 100 times better than me in terms of what they managed to accomplish while they were putting out media for other people to touch their lives... Like do you feel no sense of kinship with other people that also create content, and you don't see any continuum from the past up until you right I think that's what happened with the scene kids. I play real music play classical music my entire life and I know I can hear like a new jazz musicians if it was just really really bad music... It's just average jam band music and you notice that they were doing something experimental with the keyboard where he's just slamming on it. Yeah they do that sometimes in a moment where they're conveying a light-hearted mood and they're also just trying to get your attention and weird you out. Unless you can prove to me that that's the only thing he did and that's what people had to sit through for an hour then you're a fucking poser fake and you get your laughs by deceiving people and that's probably why you don't want to actually give his name like write better fucking humor and don't try to fucking swerve that far outside your lane because if it was like a different year or time I just think you honestly would not even be safe right now. I've been around real elites in the musical world and whether you mean classical and in the academic world I just have also known plenty hipsters and then you're just like a scenester.

    • @MisterW00D
      @MisterW00D Місяць тому

You're likeable because you're just a kid. Right?! If you notice someone has a Grammy. Ya never mind you just are an arrogant **** like holy ***** that's really weird. Have you earned one of those UA-cam things that gets painted the color of plastic metals or whatever like... did you used to dye your ******* pubes when you wanted to get r*ped by the members of blood on the dance floor? Ever try a gold bedazzler because I think that's closest you might achieve in life yeah that's about as close as you'll get to earning a Grammy. You don't get to be a elitist about music when any smugness you have is the cred of a middle schooler who knew some bands from LimeWire that other people didn't just go to sleep please and don't wake up where else just keep this up and you'll tell the wrong joke about the wrong people someday 😊 I just have become so irritable lately I don't know what's wrong with me...
I think I was just really positive and like thought in terms of an assumption you would find good everywhere except I do remember I did always hate the New Jersey suburbs. And that is what the world is turning into. You don't have any connection to anything else before you that could be said to provide you with a soul or much of a conscience based on understanding the value of respect and you never will get that and our species is about to die out for good because if this is the level of culture and it's like idiocracy then it's not going to be that long until one of you is the one who has their finger on the nuke.
Enjoy the time while you still have it.
But I did used to think there must be something good in everything like you guys wouldn't go out there living your lives every day the way that you do like your culture that's your culture you live that every day right so I may not ever really understand it but if you're doing that every single day you're probably pretty smart at what you do that was my attitude and I was open up my ears and wait to hear things that showed me that these people are actually really cool and I could learn something from them or at least enjoy the things that they are clearly enjoying cuz like you cannot be a sort of sad child that only likes tendies and milk with your mac and cheese and you won't eat any real prepared food just if it's from a culture that you're not familiar with because they'll be these moments that might be cringe and that scares you or whatever right you're so sad it's so pathetic it's just a spoiled brat culture and that's what it is can you destroying my whole world view when I realized that that's what it is and every day I see more of it
Your influence is beginning to be the dominant one in terms of how people treat each other it's just it's fucking contagious you like you fucking right away The Souls of people that interact with you that aren't like you and so I'm not surprised that you can't find anyone that I like anymore. I really hope it ends soon. I thought I need to understand what it is that you're doing and you know I'm afraid I do understand it now and it's really fucking sad. It's you and your fucking hat that people wear not for snow but because they're skaters like are you even a skater because I think I know what you are and it's just a poser l***icp*** B***mmfwcl***!
I am beginning to feel like an entire generation started to reach for the lipstick and the hair dye and not in a way like the New York Dolls did you know they were still just like they were still perfectly in tune with like the average junkie you know sleaze ball back then you know they still were just putting on an act for fun because it could score them ladies and some of the people in the business took this seriously cuz it was so different and hey David Bowie could get famous doing it why not us so that's different when instead you have indie music that is only indie by virtue of the same reason that suburban kids are completely isolated so this isn't about not being part of a major company this is about not having any connection to other human beings you're like an ape or a monkey that has been shoving makeup on yourself because on some level you know that's the thing that make sexy pretty also not allowed so rebel and then fancy gold I want gold diamond but makeup and then you rub it all over your face and shit and you go out and say something outrageous and if you are visibly a chomo then all the other children will buy up as many text messages as they can to vote for you or whatever basically all they do is just click your Myspace and that is the culture that you come from that is you.
Of course after that kind of trauma and was just waking up to realize that that's who you thought was a cool rebel and that's kind of like the same track that you're on because you don't have any connection to anything you don't know enough and you didn't respect anyone enough to fucking have that connection you're just fucking ignorant and just prioritizing your ignorance by calling people boomers if they know things it's just going to keep going for a while and have fun the insecure like they really should take the fgt word and I don't know how to rewrite it but it should just apply to you latent scene music syndrome types with yeah there is this cartoon of a dog who also wears a beanie that you look a lot like...
Sorry it's just that that wasn't actually something that you should feel Superior to and I am really angry lately at people that get off on their ignorance and then get encouraged and no one to fucking tells them hey you actually just made fun of someone like they have a million times cooler than you and you also just happened to be wrong so it's just so infuriating because if I was your father or your brother I would want you to know just not to be mean just literally to help you
That was possibly bad jam band music people playing bad white boy song for a second but who cares I have no evidence that that was anything particularly laughable except that you would probably don't know who Tom waits is just like you didn't seem to know who Everlast is so never mind... They sometimes would have had fun in 1999 playing jam band shit and then starting to jam on the keys to weird you out and just be different and not try hard you know and then let the dude kick his lyrics and then he's tripping you out with this shity thing like that's just a good time... As far as I know that's all it was I have to go fucking watch it now thanks to you pissing me off because you didn't show any awareness of the fact that's fucking Everlast you b**** I know bad jam band music stuff but what the hell like yeah I can remember there are times like it's a moment of fun and then they also like pluck the piano string sometimes too like it's called being experimental and it's not necessarily the people who are bad at music and you know who's definitely bad at music is somebody who is just sitting around from your fucking arm chair and criticizing things and you've never fucking made any music in your life you are sucker little b**"* and I will try to keep that in mind with the future source of infuriating behavior because it's obviously the only way people could be this terrible is that they are just really terrible people and they're just like sad and I should start to think of them as like pathetic... But maybe someday you could be you know the one you know the Neo Nazi biker's sex slave chained up in a dungeon, or sorry I meant Neo the one that saved us all you know, you met Morph'n Ranger and you'll climb into the Matrix one day and well first off yeah, you would have to 😢 be unplugged? Hasn't happened yet so I know you're currently in one of them comas so forget it Trinidad I will just tell you that I wish you, you know, Godspeed, good sir, on your recovery from the f*GG*Allin*try

Came here to chime in as well! Scotty's a beast, and all the lads in Street Soldier know exactly what they're writing, but also legit goes hard. SLDR

I know I’m 6 months late but the hot topic crunk core show is a band called dotdotcurve:) (yes, it’s stylized with the smiley face). They are definitely Walmart brokencyde.

Wow, I haven't heard Hed Pe since like 2005. A coworker burned me a copy of their Blackout album... it had like 3 or 4 tracks that were OK, nothing extraordinary. They got another job shortly after, but they always seemed really annoyed that I hadn't absolutely loved the album.

Went to a PM5K concert a few years ago and they were playing. Someone was passing a blunt and the whole segment was just meh.
