In recent years, rain and mood have become key elements of my work- there's something about bad weather that draws me in as a filmmaker and hiker. This video is a chill cinematic vlog soaking in a moody day in the mountains and chatting about why I love hiking/shooting in bad weather.

I have Anxiety disorder in sunny days but Bad stormy weather often makes me ecstatic and energetic and also makes me forget my chronic fears🤠

I live in Italy but I hate the sun. As the rain comes I open my umbrella and I go outside for a walk. It makes me happy and peaceful.

Apart from natural disasters, I don’t think there is such a thing as or good weather. It just is what it is. Our perceptions of it might change and make us feel a certain way, but a dark gloomy rainy day is not bad. Great vid!

Well, here, in this part of the world, we wait for the rainy season, because it offers great opportunities to photograph, videograph nature, the rain, the clouds, the waterfalls, the greens everywhere, the river, the mountains so on and on, it simply goes beyond the words..and hence, I totally understand your sentiments..yes, camera gear is at risk, I had moisture in the DSLR lenses, and then they get fungus and then you need to get those to service center for cleaning and then lenses loose sharpness a bit, all of the pain points are there but when you see the footage that you have shot, by being there in the embrace of nature, during the monsoon season, it does overshadow every other thing..watching those photos, videos is a complete bliss..and I have TeraBytes of such data..and I am thankful to almighty for that..!!

Totally agreed. I'm just a hobby phone photographer but i feel some of the best compositions i have were in moody bad weather. Like you said, the lighting is absolutely perfect. Love these type of videos from you by the way.

Aidin another amazing video and idk there were some segments of the video where you were "RAW" like not reading something of a script of something you know and I loved it so much! I've shot in rain so many times at it just hits differently, anyways Mad video man!!

Nice video as always brutha! When I shoot in the rain I just put my camera in a waterproof plastic camera bag were just the end on the lens sticks out. Then always to be safe I stick the body and the lens in a bag of rice when I get home to absorb any moisture. Been doing it for awhile and never had one issue. Works great for me. I wouldnt want to just expose it to heavy rain if I can just put it in a housing to protect it. They are only like 20 to 50 bucks. Keep creating man!! Your work inspires me constantly!

Living in the PNW (western side of the Cascades in Washington) I can relate. The trick is keeping the gear dry as you discussed at the end of the video. I'm playing around with a lightweight tripod I got at a thrift shop with an expandable umbrella attached to it. :)

Love it! One thing I like to do for wet camera gear due is to keep a few silica gel packets in my camera bag to help absorb the moisture from rain or humidity

Only a good man could love bad weather 😁 Maybe buy an umbrella hat though. Also, moisture ruined one of my favorite lenses permanently because the shutter blades wouldn't snap back properly even after two factory cleanings.
This is the normal weather in England. Waterproof cameras is a must. Great video.

Do you use any protective coverings for your gear? I don't believe that most people have a problem with being out in rain, but the knowledge of how to do so without chunking gear is real.
Stunning Video. I love nature, but I don't like the color green of plants and tress. The way you color graded is so fascinating, and I needed that last bit of message in the video. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
Very cool as long as your equipment can take it. If contemplating this, make sure you know if your gear is weather sealed.

next time i order from them ill make sure to use your code! I have a wide chest since I lift alot and their pyca shirts dont fit the best. I always see tall guys on the skinner end rock their clothes well. Their polos on the other hand... Most of the shots that I plan to take, while riding and traveling will be in rains hence I opted for an action cam. I know action cam cannot match the quality of a DSLR or Mirrorless but I really cannot afford losing a gear due to rains.

If that's miserable weather, we get lots of miserable weather here ☺️ and I personally moved here by choice 🏞️🌧️ so we can't help but shoot in this weather for a good portion of the year. Glad we're not the only ones loving it!
And yes, we've definitely been asked many times if our moody clouds are added special effects 😅
