TY a lot, I asked for such a video in comments earlier! Great tips.
i tend to shoot all the time in rain, i will tag you on my IG if i can, under my recent shot, which i got last week. Pro tip for Sony Shooters : Go aperture priority and set your metering to highlights only. ( That is how i got the shot you will see on my ig)
Why you are not talking about the lens hood, lol?
Why your camera friend has it installed the other way, did he need access to the filter (moving it around?) lol?
Saves so much trouble not to get your front element wet, if you don't want that.
Tip: use the lens hood to prevent drops on your lens...
Y no como hace el oriental del minuto 3:37

Should always be on your camera anyway ;p
YES! It's so funny his camera buddy doesn't use it xD
Pierre: « Don’t stay inside watching UA-cam tutorials... »
Me: « that’s not a bad idea ». Stops the video, goes out.
Pierre « damnit, should’ve said that at the end of the video, not in the first 30 seconds » 🤦♂️
Haha 😛 Glad you went out!
Pierre T. Lambert Let’s be honest, I did finish watching the video before heading out. 😉
I think there needs to be an umbrella that attaches directly to the camera. 🤣
Good idea 😛
I swear back in the day I saw someone with a tiny umbrella that attached to the hot shoe.
Everyone with jackets and heavy clothing... Pierre with the T-shirt and shirts like a boss
Nice video! I love shooting in the rain, but usually only macro stuff like flowers and bugs. The rain makes the colors stand out and gives some awesome effects to bugs too. It is a lot of fun.
So true, the rain somehow saturates everything, especially in landscapes Though a polarizer is sometimes needed to capture the color without extra glare!
Nice video
Uv filter... cries in 105mm 🥲 105mm filters are so expensive
I thought this was a tutorial on how to capture the rain 🌧 in your photos... ya know rain drops
Haha! That's a great idea...requires fast flash. I'll have to do one on that!
Thank you Pierre T. Lambert for the tips.
First love from India Pierre 🖤🇮🇳
Aaye❤️
cool nice very wonderful
Always bring a large chamois leather with you when shooting in wet conditions. It can cover the camera and lens. It's simpel and practical and you can wipe of the front element.
Good idea!
Wow awesome ❤❤❤
Thank you!!!
Hi Pierre, love your stuff!
Just a request,
When you're showing the images you've captured (as in this video, when you have the white background), have you thought about sharing the actual settings for each shot? :-) Or perhaps it's an artistic choice not to share?
Keep up the good work mate, love your work! :D
It's just a pain to get the exif in the video editing software. I have to open LR again. Most of the time it's useless anyway, small aperture and iso as low as possible 😛
I should of just got a rain cover for my camera, instead I chose to shoot in the rain (bare) for a couple, awesome video, thumbs up! 👍
Thanks!
¡Saludos desde Mexico! 😄👍
Could not agree more, rain is super cool for those super shots, loved this!!
Well, I was waiting some camera settings...
Rain photography you say : )
That hs to be the cleanest street ever! Japanese people have a lot of good traits that I wish we would see here in Galapagos.
It's soooo clean yes! But they use way too much single us plastic. It's an environmental disaster :(
Hey, Pierre! I never shoot in rain, and now I am waiting only for one thing - to shoot in rain...))) I am that guy from Ukraine that made your challenge!
Ah yeah man you're gonna have a lot of fun!!
I'm Ukrainian too but live in the US
Great video thanks Pierre!
Give a lot of input and motivation about the photography of Trimakasikasi
また日本来てくれ~~~👍
Hi Pierre, when you switched to Alex I noticed he was using a 1DX Mk2 with a mic on the hotshoe .....I've tried this with my 1DX Mk2 and the mic picks up the autofocus noise from my USM lens does Alex have the same problem?
I'll ask!
Awww. I wanted to join you in the 10 minute challenge in Manila.
Next Time!
damn . .envy . . I love Kyoto
Hey Pierre, I see that Alex is using a polarizer in this video. I’ve also seen you also use a polarizer in other night time videos. Can you do video on how filters etc can improve your street photography (especially at night). Thx!
Which lens you are using
Hi! Pierre, you haven't responded to my last comment, I need help deciding on which filters to buy, I do both photos & videos, looking at the polar pro filters but I'm confused, should I get the variable NDs or just go with the ND/PLs?
please suggest.
thank you so much
I like ND/PL
@@Pierretlambert Thanks you
@@samanthaalex8761 The Polarizer helps cut the glare caused by the wetness, though that same wetness helps bring out the rich colors in things!
Thank you for these helpful tips! 😉
Great tips thank you! And nice video as well. :)
@pierre where did your friend get his Pokémon band from!?
Thank you for your tips!
Found you through Manny! Great content man! Appreciate the tips!
I’ve found a lens hood help for sure!
Always Waiting Your Next Episode Sir.... And This Is Amazing...
Gracias
Great video, Pierre. Good tips and reminders for all!
Loved the video and tips! I like shooting in the rain but where I live it doesn't rain that often so I take advantage of it.
Thanks for tips 🙋🏻♂️
wow! great video Pierre! hope I can meet you and join your 10min challenge in Manila! 😁
you would like Ireland then :) their weather has a slightly weird sense of humor when it comes to rain :)
Haha yeah I have to make it out there 😛
Just started watching this video it's raining outside not sure if I should stop watching and go outside and shoot photos without any idea or not follow what he said
but what settings and how do you shoot in the rain??
Good tips 👏
waiting ;)
0:33 i'm still watching UA-cam😂
Does anyone know a video about protecting a point & shoot camera?? Every video is about a DSLR.
How to protect yourself and your gear from rain while taking picture. That’s what it should be called. Lol
I get water on lens almost instantly can't wi[e it all the way and then go nuts clearing water blotches in post
Show cap is cheap easy way to protect your camera. Very good if Ave your camera on a tripod.
I just subscribed, I wish I knew this earlier
Whoa.... are you in Manila right now dude?
Fun Fact: I have that “Hubby” mug too. ☕️
What duck tape do you use?
I have always some garbage bags and some rubber bands in my bag. When its raining I cut a little hole for the lens in the bag and fix it then on the lens with the rubber. The garbage bag covered my camera then for a few cents. :-)
Yes !
Toujours des super vidéos (sur les 2 comptes) Une version en Français pour toutes tes vidéos s'il te plait :-))) Je sais que c'est beaucoup de travail mais ce serai cool
👍 👍
When i was in Art school, they forced us to shoot in all weather. In Vancouver, that meant rain. I haven't done it since. lmao. Those plastic covers are the best. You can even use a grocery bag or ziplock bag if nothing else is available.
Oh really!? You should go back! 👍👍🌧️
@@Pierretlambert I've actually been thinking about that a lot recently.
What lens is Alexis using
0:32 epic face=)
Alex is so funny 🤣🤣😂😂
How about an public rain-photo challenge with the community? Would love to see the top ten shots and how everyone applicated your tips.
Keep up the good work!
Patrick (@hanseatic_photography)
Good idea!
When you always have to add camera to the title cause someone had the stupid idea to call taking pictures shooting xD
3:37 Use the lens hood...
use a golfing umberella; give a larger coverage when just on casual shoots; not professional shoots.
Weather sealing of Sony cameras and lenses suck. You'd better protect your gear if you shoot in the rain.
First
Woot!!!
Awesome tips because Istanbul is rainy nowadays :)

If my Samsung NX11 camera gets wet, it'll 100% die, it has ZERO weather sealing. That's cheap, 2010 tech for ya. Pff. :(
Waiting for the 10 minutes photo challenge
Having lost a D810 due to rain, weather sealing is BULLSHIT.
Even if your body and lenses are weather sealed, water can still get into the moving bits of zoom lenses. So it’s best to use primes, or at least take measures to prevent a lot of water from getting into the sliding parts of any zoom lenses you use in the rain.
that makes no sense. if the lens is weather sealed it doesn’t matter if it’s zoom or not. it’s weather sealed no matter what… lmao
@@tehMaloWalo Oh what wonderful bliss you must live in, thinking "If it says it's weather sealed, no water could possibly come in".
Something being sealed doesn't mean it's impervious to anything coming through that seal.
There is no waterproofing, there is only water resistance.
And weather sealed lenses can resist weather pretty well, but only to a certain degree.
Think about it. Have you ever seen an underwater camera with a telescoping zoom lens? No. Because if it moves, it has openings. And if it has openings, things can get through.
Weather sealing does do a lot to make lenses (any gear for that matter) resistant to water entry. But unless the lens is a solid piece of plastic, if you expose it to enough water, long enough, and under the right circumstances, chances are water will get in.
Which is of course why the people who use lenses in bad weather for a living have them insured against water damage. But most people watching this video, probably don't have that, so it's probably good if they take some extra measures to keep their gear safe than just trust a "water resistance" claim that isn't even externally verified like the IPX ratings on phones and other tech are.
You have a french accent 😊
Awesome.. exactly what I needed right to autuum time. @beardy_noel
5 bucs 6 bucs 10 buck 100 bucks not toooo much right ?
Thanks for the tips. Keep up the great work 👏 IG@rob_blackwood
I just re use a regular plastic bag lel
Do not wipe your tshirt on your lens! Only use cloth made for a lens
Pierre love ur video's man keep it up 💪🏽
Ig:@morales.787
Thank Jose!!
LOL umbrella. you can just buy a OLYMPUS camera and never give a shit about rain ever again.
You talked too more.
