Haha I love this comment - When you can't find anything better than a ziploc bag for $100 you know there is a gap in the market ;) One you COULD try that looks simple and similar to the bag is the movo - amzn.to/2X57ucz - I ordered it a couple weeks ago but haven't tested yet. That said it's basically a bag with a string, so I think it does what it says ;)
I just bring a few cheap plastic bags and rubber bands. Not as fancy... Just rip it at the end, put the lens through. Tighten the bag to the lens with the rubber band. Shoot and at the end throw it in the recycling bin.

I really needed to get out for a walk this afternoon but it was still chucking down with rain. I had a scout around the house and found a tie handle freezer bag. Fifteen minutes later I was getting soaked while taking pictures by the river while my camera stayed dry. I spent an hour or so stalking a female kingfisher and came back some nice shots. Thanks again.
I think I may try this but then seal it up… put two small holes in the zipped up part and reattach my straps through the holes on my camera. Thanks for the idea!
I really like this idea however I shoot video 99 percent of the time and I use a external microphone . I ended up buying a umbrella and a couple mounts to attach it to my tripod. Nonetheless love the video. It was really well put together. 🎉
Fair enough Jonny! Video is definitely trickier :) I have the camera rain coat by…. dangit I cant remember the name lol. If you dont have room in the bag for an umbrella it works nicely, but umbrella will ALWAYS be better if you have space and time to setup :) Thanks for the kind words!
@@SignatureEdits now that I think about it, I could probably cover the camera, leaving the microphone coming through the top of the bag and then wrap the rubber band around the fitting part to secure it. Great video. I did get the umbrella set up. But I found that I don’t want to use the umbrella when it’s windy. 😎
Put the camera in the bag the otherway round. I.E. so that the lens is poking out of the open end of the bag. Use the zip on the ziplock and pull it tight around the lens cover, so the glass is uncovered. Its easier than using a marker, knife, tape, etc.
A problem arises when you need to use bigger filters with a step up ring, which means no lens hood and that thing is very usefull at keeping water droplets or sea spray from the front element.
Hi... Thanks for the vid!...I need to waterproof a low profile GitUp F1 FPV cam to mount onto a large RC Sailboat. I am worried that if I covered it in plastic, the heat these things generate might fry it as they have breather holes in the top of the cam. It's a similar profile to a Mobius or a Runcam 5 etc. ( low profile rectangle ) Any suggestions would be great.. Thanks all
Hello! I have a question. I've been using a non weather sealed dslr camera canon eos 800d during rainy days a lot of times using a ziplock bag. Sometimes if the camera got a bit wet and would not work properly, I would dry blow it and would work perfectly again. It still works to this day. Now I want to buy a mirroless camera and I still can't afford a weather sealed one. Do you think that mirrorless cameras are more sensible to water than dslr cameras? Should I buy another dslr? I plan to use this one through rainy days also. Thanks!
Great! Please, help with a doubt about freeze cold whether: the cameras are damaged in winter from below zero to minus 10-15 degrees (I'm in Norway). Are cameras damaged at these temperatures? In the instructions it says to use it at temperatures between 0 and 40 degrees. I have canon eos m50 mark2. They saying it because of the batteries, or because the sensor, lenses, electronics, screens, etc. get damaged? I know I have to bring backup batteries and keep them warm and also do not enter the house with the camera, before putting it in a sealed plastic bag to avoid condensation. But, just the fact of taking the camera out cold, would it harm it? Or you are safe, as long as we ensure a slow and safe temperature transit of the camera. Maybe put heating tapes on the Camera and lenses, like the ones on the telescope? Thank you

Totally safe - The only thing is your battery life will be hit or miss - I suggest keeping extras in your pockets so they stay warm In winter in Norway the air is incredibly dry, so you really wont need to worry about moisture! I also wouldnt sweat it with worrying about a cover in the snow - the body is weather sealed, and you can just blow or brush it off before taking it inside

I have a EOS Rebel T7 and I don't have the lens cap that you have to be able to twist over the plastic in order to secure it... Is there another way to protect the actual glass part and ensure that so water gets into the bag?
If you're using the kit lense, cut the hole the size of your filter length "58mm" stretch it so it stays snug over the lense body to the silver ring behind the focus ring, it should be tight enough if you cut it small enough that the plastic should hold a slight cylindrical shape, then use the silver ring as a guide line to put a rubber band around it, use a red rubber band if you want to feel like your using an L lense 🤭, but any rubber band will do

Dope, screwing the lens hood on it is super clutch and I’m sure it helps keeps rain off the lens
