I have no words to described how thankfull I am for this recipie! I saw this video a week ago but didnt have ALLULOSE :( I ordered and Amazon delivered at 3:56 pm today by 6pm my flan was in the fridge . I was afraid because of the 6 EGS ? BUT guess what ? Dindt taste as eggs at all I CABT BELIVE THE CARAMEL, THE TEXTURE , APARIENCE AND DELICIOUSNESS that I will call this flan THE PERFECT FLAN for now on . Trick for old ovens like mine bake lil longer on 400 degrees ! wich can upload a picture of it ! Mayra tell me what I can do for you to thank u for this ... IM YOUR NEW FAN AND FOREVER. First time I ever had flan was during a mission trip to Cuba. I wasn’t sure what it was but I knew how hard the Cuban ladies worked to feed our mission team so of course I tried it. The flan was so delicious, so creamy, and I loved it! Can’t wait to try it keto. Darlington, South Carolina
Made this today. I don’t have allulose on hand, so I used Lakanto monk fruit sweetener. While I was trying to get it to caramelize it started to smoke! Lol! And it didn’t really turn caramel in color, so I added a Tbsp or so of Lakanto golden sweetener and it darkened up just a smidge... Suffice to say, it still turned out great, but I did go to Amazon to buy the allulose! Great recipe! Can’t wait to dig into it after dinner tonight 😁
As a fellow Mexicana, I absolutely LOVE flan with cafecito! So I make regular flan and add a tablespoon of instant coffee "Nescafe" and OMG is it amazing!!! Will have to try it with your recipe!

Finally made it and it's delicious. I have an older version so it took me 3 tries to get it right. Had to cover with foil and bake for 20 more mins. The last 2 times it was watery in the middle, but flavor was still good. I ate it like ludding. Thank you!
Mines came out like pudding and it tasted like eggs. I like a firm flan. Did you do anything different on your 3rd try and can you use a blender instead of a mixer.
@@yannetbeltran6784 I don't know about using a blender, but I did let it bake longer (1 hr and 15mins) and covered the pan with foil in the water bath. 3rd time was the charm. It was nice and firm. My first 2 were like pudding. Next time I'm gonna try adding xanthum gum for extra firm.
I made this and it was Amazing! The only things I didn't like was the carmel sauce, it was too sweet but I just scraped most of it off and it was great. I ended up cooking it for 1hr 20min and it was perfect.
Thank you for sharing. I made this recipe and it came out soft. I like my Flan a bit firm so I made it a second time and did 3 whole eggs and 3 egg yolks. I also used brown swerve. If it wasn’t for your inspiration I would not have come up with a Dessert I can eat that is Low Carb Love.

We made this for our Easter dinner dessert an it was fantastic! Thank you. It was so tender and creamy, some of the best flan I’ve ever had. I’m a Californian, so I’ve eaten a lot of flan and I’m a good judge of it.
Made this last night and added some lemon juice and lemon zest. Kinda reminds me of tofu texture. Maybe I will try double the eggs next time using only the yolk. That’s what my mom does with traditional flan. I guess there’s a low carb condensed milk that I have to look for and maybe try that too.
This is the best flan recipe I have found , I do in in ramekins and it comes out PERFECT and delicioso, I do add 1/4 cup of Vanilla Skinny syrup to make it sweeter :D Thanks for the recipe.

Phfft! Whatever! Yes I always use the cream cheese. Makes a huge difference. Try it out I’m sure you will love it. The first time I did it I used one full block of cc but felt that it was too “thick”. I would suggest using half of it, I guess it all comes down to what consistency you want.

I’ve never had flan but this makes me want to! I think I may try little ramekins and scale down the recipe, see how that goes. Low carb or not I don’t think husband and I should eat a full sized flan 😅 and I’m betting it wouldn’t freeze well. I know it will be much shorter cooking time but hopefully it will turn out!

Yannet Maybe over mixing? I used a whisk and it came out perfect, made again last weekend and tried with more cream than milk and it was firmer and delicious. Did you use room temp eggs?
Maybe that’s what happened the eggs were cold . Another thing I use the same amount Monk fruit that Myra use but it show up little bit of crystals of sugar in my flan. How many eggs did you use because mine tasted like eggs.
Yannet I used the Allulose and it is the best for getting it to caramelize without the crystals and taste like sugar. I used same amount of eggs she suggested in recipe, but I didn’t have an eggy taste.
What a great video and an amazing result from the recipe. I've been on a Keto food plan for the last few weeks and I've really been missing desserts but now I can't wait to try this next shopping day. As an aside, here in the UK that is known as Creme Caramel and it was my goto Christmas dessert as I can't abide Fruitcake or Christmas Pudding. :D

In my world before Keto, I had LOVED a Flan de Coco that was a Cuban recipe of my friend’s grandmother that was sooooo awesome but TONS of calories due to the Coco Lopez Can of coconut syrup....yeah....SUPER delish...so...now I’m reading about people who are going to add their flavorings to your wonderful recipe. Do you think coconut milk would be good for the coconut flavoring? Also, a friend of mine made a Blood Orange Flan that was out of this world !!! Just saying...;))
I am single and not a cook. Your recipes are very appealing to me although some quantities too big for myself and not all can be frozen, ex the flan. On another note, went to Amazon to buy the things you use and found ratings with 5 stars, but when you start reading the reviews many have 1star and clearly state do not buy. Confusing. How can a product have 5 stars and many 1 star at the same time? Can’t wait to try the flan when I can find the cooking materials. Gracias!
I just made your recipe except used more heavy cream and less almond milk, it's cooling now. I can't wait to try it. Next time I might try choc zero caramel instead of making my mine. Do you happen to have a keto capirotada recipe?
@@chontelhernandez5293 Let me know how that works! With monkfruit and erythritol, just watch it and make sure it thickens. If you heat it up too hot right away and it doesn't get thick before adding it to your dish, it can crystallize before you even bake the custard and will become hard after!

But did you follow Myra entire recipe. I tried mine today you can taste crystal of sugar in it.

Yannet Maybe over mixing? I used a whisk and it came out perfect, made again last weekend and tried with more cream than milk and it was firmer and delicious. Did you use room temp eggs?
Maybe that’s what happened the eggs were cold . Another thing I use the same amount Monk fruit that Myra use but it show up little bit of crystals of sugar in my flan. How many eggs did you use because mine tasted like eggs.
Yannet I used the Allulose and it is the best for getting it to caramelize without the crystals and taste like sugar. I used same amount of eggs she suggested in recipe, but I didn’t have an eggy taste.

In my world before Keto, I had LOVED a Flan de Coco that was a Cuban recipe of my friend’s grandmother that was sooooo awesome but TONS of calories due to the Coco Lopez Can of coconut syrup....yeah....SUPER delish...so...now I’m reading about people who are going to add their flavorings to your wonderful recipe.
Do you think coconut milk would be good for the coconut flavoring? Also, a friend of mine made a Blood Orange Flan that was out of this world !!! Just saying...;))

I am single and not a cook. Your recipes are very appealing to me although some quantities too big for myself and not all can be frozen, ex the flan.
On another note, went to Amazon to buy the things you use and found ratings with 5 stars, but when you start reading the reviews many have 1star and clearly state do not buy. Confusing. How can a product have 5 stars and many 1 star at the same time? Can’t wait to try the flan when I can find the cooking materials.

You can use any sweetener you have on hand. Erythritol or monk fruit would work!
I tried monk fruit and it turned hard . 😭 it didn’t work. So of course I ordered allulose, it’s in the oven now 🙏
@@chontelhernandez5293 Let me know how that works! With monkfruit and erythritol, just watch it and make sure it thickens. If you heat it up too hot right away and it doesn't get thick before adding it to your dish, it can crystallize before you even bake the custard and will become hard after!

@@margaretconger8860 swerve is erythryitol in confectioner sugar form, so it might work, i am going to try & see if it works since I have swerve as well lol
