Truly I can’t thank you enough. I could’ve never done this job without your help in this video. I had a bad camera for my first install. After I finally got that figured out it was a piece of cake. Thanks again.
Too fast doing you dont show exactly how the wires connecting to the back camera
A helpful tip, use something to lubricant the wires that rubber boot when fishing thru it, it will be so much easier, dishsoap and water mix worked good, or maybe even a little WD40
Thank you for this video! I was able to install a new radio for my 2009 Rav 4 so I can stave off the new car hunger!
The exact words I told my wife a week ago after telling her I bought a new touchscreen radio for our 2006 RAV4 😄
I noticed that the placement of the backup camera makes the backup lines a bit off.
I have followed the same instruction, but still not able to align the guidlines at the center since the camera is fixed at the left
Great video. Helped me tons to get mine done. That rear grommet was a booger!
great video. it does confirm that I'd pay someone a coupon hundred bucks to do the job instead - i'm just too lazy for this job.
Hello! im trying to connect mine. how did you know which one is for the reverse light that you need to tap into?
hi i was just wondering what happened to the video you did on the 1995-2001 toyota rav4?
I like to know where I can buy the camera that u just installed
Thanks for the video. Question, how do you align the camera guidelines as it’s not centered since the camera is to the left?
Same question. Anyone can explain more? Thanks
Hola, también quiero saber. gracias
Very thorough video thank you
IMO it’s easier to start from the back to the front of the car
Look quite a hard route into that tailgate door.
I've never used those t-taps before. They work well?
Did this car have the spare mounted to the back hatch for us the car? I'm installing this weekend and am wondering if the spare bulge will block my view...
I just bought a Toyota RAV4 limited car, it has a genuine GPS screen but it doesn’t have rear camera. So if I want to add the camera do I need to buy a new screen?
Thanks brother
Which color wire did you tap into on the taillight for the reverse light?
Good video 🔥
Sadly my car don't have the license plate on the side, is in the bottom and i don't know where to put the backup camera
Is the camera adjust able
Thank you Provo Beast. Where can the camera be purchased? looking on-line for that eRapta. Also, if the display is bluetooth, would you advise a wireless camera?
I hooked it up the same way but I’m using a different model….
I put her in reverse the screen turns
If you send us a message on facebook, we can help diagnose your issue!
Im confused about where the backup light wire was
How much would labor for an install like this be?
Thank you for the video.
Parts linked in the description, and I'd call around for your local audio ship install price.
Can you use the negative wire from the reverse light instead of a ground? Is a negative wire the same as a ground wire?
Absolutely
Any idea why back up camera doesn't come on the screen automatically when put in reverse on 2012 tundra? It comes on when camera icon is touched on my alpine lxw650.
The reverse trigger wire isn't functioning properly. Either a bad connection somewhere or a setting on the radio.
@@ProvoBeastAudio thank you for the reply
Hi.how do you know which wire to connect to? and if the cam needs ground connected to the steel car body? just got a toguard E60 and learning to install now
On the red wire extension that you’ve added to the reverse light, what kind of wire did u use ?
18 gauge wire will do just fine, and available online or at most auto parts stores.
Thanks for this video Provo Beast. Question: In our 2012 Rav4, the backup camera worked for years, but now, we get only intermittent camera. Sometimes we get blue screen, then nothing. Can you please suggest a cause and solution for this problem? Thanks again!
Failing camera. Time for a replacement!
@@ProvoBeastAudio Thanks for replying. So even with intermittent signal, you don’t think it’s a wiring issue? Is this a common failure with this model?
@@geoffleader4209 Too hard to know and diagnose through youtube comments. I'd take it to a shop to have diagnosed.
Starts off 'Hay, gays!'
Im having so much trouble. My pink wire doesnt seem to power it, could it be blue?
éstereo= Morado, alimentacion para la camara= señal de reversa y positivo de reversa al cable morado del estereo
Is the guidelines accurate even though the license is offset?
@Bobby My camera is adjustable as it has a screw. So i park my car and measurements out 1.5ft from the bottom of my car on the ground and move the set screw to make the last red line to 1.5 feet and tighten the screw. The driver side is accurate but the passenger side is off only a few inches.
What gauge t-tap did u need to use?
Those t- taps are Lifesavers. They’re easy enough you can put them on both wires and just change them out real quick to find out which wire you need. But if you misaligned that blade, that’s a real thing. I’ve used them and I still had it happen to me. So be careful with that. But I love them. Thanks for the tip.
I understand everything except the ground. Can u explain?
The ground just has to touch any bare metal components on the car
