Eat Like A Girl, fabulous book, thank you for all of your Podcasts. I am losing weight too and that's been so hard to do in the last 10 years. Fasting 18 and 24 hours and I feel great. 8 weeks in and I have lost 24lbs. I have read both books, I read Fast Like A girl first, I have avidly watched all of your Podcast and sent them on to friends and family.

Been on Omega 3-6-9 fish oil supplements for 60+ days...not really experiencing anything. I do eat a lot of expensive and delicious imported Italian olive oils with my foods. However -- been doing IF/OMAD for 110 days and weight is down 45 lbs. Starting walking 3-4 miles (incline 3-4%) and lifting weights two months ago. Last blood test was 5.9 A1C (it WAS 7.1). Thanks for your videos...not sure if Omega 3-6-9 is helpful for me, but will continue. Starting watching your videos months ago and learned how to "fight for me". I was a "victim" of T2 diabetes, HBP, overweight, addicted to American processed/fast/packaged foods -- overall weight is down 56 lbs from my highest point in March (229 lbs right now, 55M, ex-military, retired). You are an angel and your videos have been pivotal in my health.

A 3-tablespoon serving of hempseeds satisfies your daily ALA needs, per the USDA. But that's not all. Hempseeds-also called hemp hearts-are also an excellent source of magnesium and a good source of plant protein and iron

Just one ounce of walnuts contains 2.5 g of ALA, more than double the daily recommendation for women. You can easily get all the ALA you need in a day by sprinkling some walnuts onto a favorite salad, baking them into brownies and other treats and adding them to your vegetable sides

It's a common misconception that fish are the original source of omega 3s. In fact, omega-3s come from algae - the foundational life form that feeds phytoplankton, which in turn is a primary food source for the fish that produce the omega-3 fatty acids

Question: how do I know if i am high in cortisol?? I mean I have six kids, homeschooling 4 of them and LOVE working out and mountain biking. I am getting very comfortable with my basic fasting reset schedule in your book. That, I know, can all add up. How do I know if I'm doing too much? Are there any bodily cues? If cortisol is high, what do I cut out, fasting or exercise?

I’m 78 this month and have a dependency on food for emotional support. I have done 24 hour fasts two years ago and lost 33 pounds. I have basically kept it off. I know I have hormonal issues. I relate to everything you’ve said here. I will be seeking you out daily to help motivate me to eating better foods. I have not been eating seed oils - none in the house, but I eat out occasionally and at family dinners. This derails me very much. Sorry to be so long to say thank you. I’m ordering Eat Like a Girl today. ❤️

I love your videos! I just finished my first 24-hour fast in a very long time and I feel great! I didn't even get hungry or crave anything which really surprised me. I'm guessing it's because I eat whole foods now instead of ultra-processed foods. Much better fasting experience! I'm wondering if a prolonged fast would get rid of the plantar fasciitis I've had for months. If anyone has any experience or information on that I would love to hear it.

The last time I had it show up, I was trying to train for a triathlon sprint 😖, so I threw everything at it I could think of - chiropractic, dry needling, a brace thing to sleep in to keep the calf muscle elongated, different shoes... as well as a coupe of longer fasts 🤷‍♀️

Dr Mindy I’ve been following you for some time now but I’ve got such a lot going on I don’t know where to start. I’m 79 but not ready to stop being active but I have been forced to having recently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. On top of that I have bronchiectasis which makes me poorly a lot and have to take antibiotics most of the time. Also got Athsma. I do suffer with anxiety, depression and brain fog in a big way. I follow the Glucose Goddess and I take a tablespoon of Ancient Roots Origins EVOO daily. I have also done the Zoe plan but it was when doing this that I started with pain with rheumatoid arthritis and I found it difficult to follow so I stopped it. I’ve got so behind with general domestication and I need to improve my health and energy levels. I sleep uncontrollably so don’t see me ever catching up.
Today’s podcast on omega 3 and 6 made me think this would be a good place. I also need to shed a few lbs but this would happen naturally if I made a start. Maybe Fasting is the place to start - we already do a bit. Bit long but your enthusiasm is making me want to start to learn and get going but sleep and pain overtakes me. Any ideas? I want some of your energy and fun to get me back to where I was dancing 4 times a week. Just love love your podcasts as do so many others. Wish I could join your group of ladies bit too far . Thank you so..

I started fasting for the first time in my life approx 6 mos ago. I devour your videos because they are filled with factual, scientific information which you manage to explain in a style we can all relate to and understand. I lost 30 lbs pretty quickly because in addition to fasting I completely cleaned up my diet. I am presently at 130 so I was over the moon at losing that much. I seem to be at a standstill presently. I’m wondering if I’m not eating enough in my eating window. I try to actively pay attention to my protein intake to be sure it’s above 100 grams but I eat so much raw nuts seeds organic Greek yogurt etc that I’m wondering if I’m taking in too much fat along with it. They are all healthy fats yes but what should the ratio be in any given meal during an eating window? I guess what I’m asking is this ….. what would be a balanced meal in numbers? Carbs, protein and healthy fats? I know it’s based on the individual and how many grams one already ate cin prior meals of that day but just a general ratio that I can use as a guide? I also think I need to throw in some longer fasts as well but one thing at a time. Many thanks for this freedom I have found. You were key in helping me to make this happen. I’m eternally grateful ♥️

Selenium is very important. Eating 1 or 2 Brazilian nuts a day is important. If he’s allergic, he can take a daily supplement.
Gluten can be a problem for most of us. It’s best to avoid it. Dairy can also be problematic. Personally I’m fine with yogurt, but not milk or cheese. Full fat is best.
Healthy fats like avocados, olives, coconut. Animal protein like salmon, turkey, chicken, cod. Nuts and seeds, chickpeas, beans, and lentils, salad greens, cooked cruciferous veggies, non-starchy veggies, fermented veggies. Fruits like berries, apples, citrus, peaches, and pears. Eliminate fried foods, alcohol, processed foods, and sugar because they cause a lot of inflammation. Soy is also not recommended, although I’m fine with organic tempeh.
PS If any food seems to make him sluggish and get brain fog, it may be a problem for him. The ones that can be tricky for us are beans, peanuts, nightshades, and gluten free grains. There are some patients that may not tolerate these foods very well. But he will feel it in his body and see it in his thyroid panel.

Dr. Mindy mentioned in this video extra virgin olive oil.

When I take omega 3, my appetite is just crazy. I can eat an elephant. Does anyone have the same?

It's my understanding that "high" cholesterol isn't the problem that the medical profession insists that it is. Check out Dr Sten Ekberg on this. There are others too, of course, but he provides very easy to understand information.

I normally really resonate with Dr Mindy’s videos but i’m sorry this is waaaaay off! The body needs omegas 3 for cellular health, it is the vital food to optimise the cell membrane REDUCE inflammation, keep the vital organs healthy. We cannot just rely on our diet for omega 3’s because it only comes from wild line caught oily fish and seafood which is not sustainable financially or for the planet, so we have to supplement now granted there are a lot of unclean fish oils on the market, so you must do your due diligence, but I would really encourage your listeners to factor in omega-3 as their natural life insurance policy. Also, our ratio should be 1:1 (omega 6:3) a 16:1 ratio is your body in an inflamed state and not healthy long term.
