Simple teriyaki at home. Why order take out? Happy Friday! 💕
Blessed is the man with a loving wife who cooks wonderful meals. God bless you both in your efforts.
Brings back memories. Mom was born and raised in Hawaii so she was best at Asian and Portuguese dishes. We had teriyaki chicken, beef spareribs, Portuguese red bean soup and homemade Hawaiian egg bread. Her recipes were not written down so I am grateful for this one. Thank you!
Who does not just love Teriyaki chicken, O’ my looks so good. Thanks for sharing it with us.
This is how I make Chicken Wings, Flo!! Baked at lower temp and basted often. Delish!!
J. Kenji Lopez-Alt's teriyaki tour of Seattle has got me hankering for this, but I live in the Ohio River Valley; restaurants and takeout can be good, bad, and ugly...also atrociously over-priced and hyped-up by influencers who don't know a kettle from a teacup. Thanks for providing a homemade recipe I can rely on. 🥰
Thank you Flo for sharing this delicious recipe. This will be my Sunday dinner 😋😋
Have a great weekend ❤
one of my favorite dishes to fix 🍽..... I was planning on fixin this tonight (Saturday) anyways lol then I saw that you posted it 💖
My wife and myself this is sunny we went to Thailand Hong Kong and Korea and then everything we ate I was thinking of your cooking show your videos and I'm so happy to be home so now we you and me can we can cook together😊😅😂
very nicely done👌👍😎 looks great👏✔️😋
Hello Flo it is good to see you again with your delicious recipe. Thank you so much❤
Love it, thanks for sharing ♥ 👍
Thank you
Will definitely try, also your hair looks great by the way.
Looks absolutely delicious thanks for sharing this recipe
Thank you!
Looks so yummy!
Another Flo masterpiece! I am so excited to try this! By the way...if Dude ever needs time off, I volunteer to be the taste-tester for the recipes 😊
Thanks Dude
Great asian dish! Thanks guys.
Legend has it that teriyaki was first made in Hawaii and/or Seattle. Since there are one or two teriyaki places in each strip mall here in Seattle I pick Seattle. 😂
Great, made it, some corn starch to thicken up the sauce, but the main idea was rice vinegar instead of rice wine sake in my old recipie that I never had at hand. Also with broccoli, carrots and rice.
Looks delicious!
That looks sooo yummy, Flo!! I am definitely switching to homemade teriyaki sauce now that you showed me how easy it is to make! Happy Sunday! (Some habits are hard to break!) TFS, Sharon 🤗♥️🍜
Thank you! Looks perfect!!
Ooooo!!!! I gotta give this a go!!! 😊🤩😉
Thanks for sharing. Making them today...yummy 😊
Wow. A delicious classic ❤
This meal looks really tasty.😊 Enjoy your week.
Flo, you look younger.... will try your recipe, looks yummy.
Thanks Dude.....'Ayup'......you know that smacks of Maine....... o.O
looks like another banger flolum, can't wait to try this one soon. THANKS
Have to give it a try. Thank you.
I like this more than the bottle sauce. Plus it doesn't have all the extra stuff my body doesn't need. This is fresh tasting and it's delicious over the vegtables. This sauce is one of the few things the kids will eat. Have a great week Flo and Dude. ❤
Teaspoon of Ginger, and 2 cloves of Garlic... With that Grater, what was the quantity of Finger/Fingernail, that might be the 'Extra'😂? I love Teriyaki Chicken
👍 👍
What can I substitute mirin with ?

Thank you! I have all the ingredients, except the mirin. Can I substitute it for some wine? Blessings from Tennessee!
Yes!

Is Rice wine the same thing as rice wine vinegar? Any substitutes?
It’s not quite the same. But you can sub one for the other. The mirin, however is a sweet rice wine and personally, I would not sub rice vinegar for mirin though.
@FloLum I have mirin but not rice wine or rice wine vinegar. Can I leave it out?
You’re not introducing Dude… give him his due
I make my teriyaki like yours except I add a bay leaf and a squirt of ketchup
Don't know how I will ever see a reply if there is one, but can you bypass adding the sugar for this recipe or really any of yours that call for it. My wife will not eat anything that has added sugar to it. Thanks!
Teriyaki is a sweet sauce. You can sub honey if you like. I add a small amount of sugar to other recipes because it helps to balance out the flavour. If you omit it, it will be a bit more salty. It does make a difference but feel free to omit it. Hope this helps.
