I was quite fortunate to play Royal St. George the same year Sandy Lyle won there. I was stationed in London with the Navy and was able to play there on a weekday. My buddy and I were the only people on the course. This video brought back some good memories. Thank you for the awesome video.
I love how these videos give people a way to see every hole of golf courses that many people may not even set foot on. Pine Valley and Cypress Point are beautiful examples of that.
This serious is absolutely awesome. However, I'd love to see more World Top-50 courses that we don't get to see on TV like Royal Dornoch, Crystal Downs, Ballybunion, Fishers Island, Sunningdale, etc.
Were there a lot of blind tee shots and 2nd shots? I heard Brooks mention that in an interview earlier. I played Old Prestwick links last month and it had a ridiculous amount of blind tee shots and/or blind 2nd shots etc.
Only 2 par 5s... more like 4... they just decided to label 2 of them par 4's. The course is like a club bouncer... rough looking and ready to beat you up.
Doesn't look like there's any flat surfaces on either fairways or greens and a lot of decent shots are going to finish way off the intended position. Bit of a lottery course so the winning score will include quite a few strokes - of luck.
It's classic British "links land". That's the land between the beach and land that can be farmed, or at least grazed. Golf was never meant to be a fair game, it's always been a mental test. First you learn how to hit the ball, then you learn how to play the game. The Open never produces a fluke winner.
My favourite series of videos on UA-cam. Simple, effective, stunning. 10 minutes of bliss, every time.
These videos are incredible. Underrated. The background music is also epic!

I caddied for my father who was stationed at Rusilip.
Nobody cares
@@brennanswanson2392 geez chill dude
My dad and I were the only people on the course when we played it too
@@brennanswanson2392 'til this point apparently 35 people do. Seems your eye doctor doesn't care about you.
Thanks, looks lovely and diabolical. The winner truly deserves to be called the champion golfer of the year
This course looks awesome and it goes to show what an incredible final round that Greg Norman scored to win in 1993.
The perfect primer for the upcoming British Open tournament, always my favorite tournament of the year to watch.
Best tournament in the world by far.
It’s more special when in Scotland though

Thank you for posting this!
38 hours away. Can't wait!!!!! My favorite tournament of the year.
Lucky enough to play this last week. Absolutely amazing even though the course beat me!
The Claret jug...... This will be fantastic Sunday afternoon

Great insight into the history of the course. Wow the fairways are undulating.
these videos are unbelievable. please keep them coming
Was lucky enough to play about three years ago, but in about a 4 club wind off the Channel. Tough day but an absolute treat, what a great layout.
Me too, I was 13 except
This is a great venue and a great presentation - thanks a lot!
What a gorgeous course
This is wonderful. Thanks so much
What a glorious Track...would love to have the chance to tee it up on Royal St. George.
Stunning. Brutal. Should be a great championship.
Stunning.
I can literally hear Rick shiels saying “galf clobe”
This comment is soooo under appreciated, lmao.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
my golf bucket list!
Saw the DJ out of bounds shot live !! Game changer !! Great course !! Good luck to all staff this week ⛳️🤙🏻
One of my favorites on WGT.
Awesome drone footage. Looks like all holes may be a challenge, especially if the winds kick up!
Weather looks good this week. Max 17mph wind and no rain

I have a tee time at Ballybunion next June. So hype
If you would like to play Ballybunion for 1/3 of the price let me know!

The British Open is my favorite sporting event.
Gorgeous all round.
cannot wait! OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP I MISSED YOU 😅
AMEN!!!!!
Missing fairways here looks insanely punishing with all the mounds, brutal.
Hitting Fairways looks insanely punishing. You should NOT be penalized for hitting the Fairway
Would love to play here 🙌
Was this flyover done this year..? Looks quite generous off the tee width-wise. Bombs away
There really isn’t a weak course on The Open Rota. I think Carnoustie and Muirfield are the best ones, but St. George’s looks awesome.
love it
Any tips for the week. Does the course suit anyone in particular.
DJ. he choked back in 2011 but he now has experience
@@3101max Thanks for that . I see he's 18/1 . Rahm favourite at 13 / 2. Tommy Fleetwoid might be worth a punt as well at 33/1"
Playing here tomorrow I’m so scared 😂😂😂
Classic place …..winner will need a majority of the good …bounces and runs
Lee Westwood's year!
🤣🤣🤣
If the weather is not windy and rainy the Pros will dominate this course.
Cool looking course but seems like all the ropes along the edge of many fairways would seriously get in the way.
I agree with Koepka.
Let's see more British courses!
i would shoot a good 150+ with those bunkers
And you would still shoot lower than me.
I’d be happy to shoot 120 if I ever played there
Stadium golf before stadium golf architecture …Gods country club 🤔🤷🏻♂️🤗
Does anyone know the background music on holes 17 and 18?
"Never Grow Old" by Celesy
One of the strangest songs I’ve ever heard. Thank you none the less👍
Lol when did Ian Fleming become a go-to golf course quote guy

Nicklaus really said the courses get worse as you head south. Basically saying all the courses in England are lousy and those in Scotland are good.
So, it surprises you he likes courses he's won on??? And let me see, how many dogleg-lefts on St Georges??? Always been Jack's favourites...
Who do you think will win the Open?
RIP IT AND GRIP IT!
Dechambeau will miss cut???

Wind blowing here , shooting -10 will win u the Open
If it blows bad even maybe good enough, this is a tough course.
