Jerry Tarde absolutely freaked on this narration. "Bunkers deep enough for human exploration" "The greatest practice grounds in captivity". Sent chills down my spine. Place looks like it would punch you in the mouth hole after hole, and you'd still smile while spitting up blood. Absolute masterpiece of content.
Love see visitor tee times for this course like they do in UK
wow, couldn't be more dramatic about a game
This course looks spectacular. It is truly one of the greatest courses in the world. I hope to see it one day by attending the Crump Cup. Golf Digest, don’t EVER stop making these videos!
Unfortunately, Sunday of the Crump Cup hasn't been open to the public since 2019. I called them the past few years and you get the "closed to the public" message. I would love to be able to attend again.
@@adamquazza1936 I have read this too. I thought this was possibly driven by Covid, but the fact that it’s not back yet has me thinking there is something else behind that decision. I sure hope they bring that tradition back and let the public attend again on Sunday.
Great re-film on this. Really takes me back 😢 great mems here with the boys ⛳️
This place is unbelievable wow. I watched the video 3 times
My dream course … just stunning all around.
I've been wondering if this course would ever be refilmed, so glad to see it. Will always remember exploring the course during The Crump Cup
“All 18 holes invoke the Lord’s Prayer” is a powerful line.
Who’s waiting on them to finally do Augusta National?!
Not that don’t already know a ton about it, but it would still be awesome.
This is brilliant. Jerry Tarde's commentary is informative, entertaining and often hilarious. And what a course. Par 120 for me, if I'm lucky.
my only disappointment about this video is that it's not in 4K. Otherwise it's perfect in every way...
It’s prob coming
Staking my place in golf history, I haven’t watched it yet, but I’m sure it’ll be a masterpiece of narration, storytelling, and cinematography of one of the most beautiful courses on planet Earth. Thank you for this gem of a video GD!
I have an unhealthy addiction to golf
This is a brilliant video.. cheers 🍻
Played the course once back in 2000 when I worked at a nearby club. Was absolutely incredible and I will never forget it. Hard but beautiful, the course will always be one of the best in the world.
These videos are awesome!
Just tried to book a tee time for Monday after this video..thanks GD! I
Amazing!
Fantastic!!!
This place is a true beast, and as stated in the video, maybe the only golf course in the world where every hole is truly memorable. Even Pebble, Augusta and St. Andrews have (in my opinion) some relatively non-memorable holes, but Pine Valley seems to be 18 holes of magic. I know it's probably because there isn't enough space for grandstands seemingly, but my goodness I would love to see Pine Valley in the modern US Open and PGA Championship rotation. I feel like it's even deserving of being the Augusta of the US Open, play it at Pine Valley every year, I feel like that would be amazing.
Truly no room at all to put grand stands
Room
Awesome!
Well done 👍
Fantastic
1:49 “…where sand reaches out to grab a weak fade.” And I took that personally.
Here and cypress point are on my bucket list. If I ever went to the states and got asked to play on those course I’d die happy
I spent many years walking the course with my father and watching the annual Crump Cup. It is truly a special course that will live in my memory for my entire life. I, too, have seen and played many great courses around the World but none compare to Pine Valley
@@user-ib9xq9uj7syes he is
Got to be annoying having all that sand in ur shoe all day
This track looks like the most exquisite torture. The 15th...the 15th... I'm going to have a nightmare where I have to repeatedly play the 15th.
Wow.
If there ever was a golf course fit for the setting of a horror novel, it would be Pine Valley.
Y’all need to upload these in 4k, it’s 2024
wow
How long is Pine Valley now? Look it much longer than in older video.
Looking forward to 3 days there this coming September
How do you get to play there?
Crump cup
yeah,.. i could see it taking 3 days to play this course. LOL
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looks like such an awesome golf course!! However looks way to challenging for the membership.
Friendly membership aye
I watched the match last night. Littler never picked up his ball. First shot right. Second about 3' to nowhere, 3rd to a bunker, 4th to just short of fringe, chip out to about 10-15 feet, 2 putt for 7.
Jay wood plack sounds like my buddy when he plays alone
This place needs to be made public. Should not be hidden away for just a few. Just like Pebble beach even if it is still expensive.
Music and even Tarde’s narration were better the first time. Did much change after the first version? Fazio’s changes to 12 were already done no? Seems unnecessary but I was still happy to watch it.
my uncle is a caddy there, I would love to play this course, just crossing my fingers
What is ur uncles name?

@@brianewe1785 very nice
Removing some trees to open up views between holes would do the course wonders, it would be great if it felt more like the enchanted forest of Sunningdale and less like a jungle.
yeah that aint gonna happen
That will defeat one of Crump's design purpose; you only see the hole you playing
Gosh I wish the PGA would figure out some kind of d of way to have some sort of competition here. I want to see the greats play this thing.
I just stayed on the toilet for 15 and a half minutes. A serene bowel movement
Same
Amazing course but is it too hard to be fun to play?
Yes. Yes. A thousand times YES. this course was designed, intended to break golfers. Terribly beautiful.
Same script as the last Pine Valley vid. Kinda looked forward to hearing now stuff about it.
Yeah, Fazio overdid it with the sand. It looks of a caricature of itself.
Is it wrong that I watched this and am now terrified to hit a tee shot? My god this place looks beautiful and brutal at the same time!
#brutiful
Didn't someone else narrate this course almost verbatim a few years ago?
This is a brand new version! The course made some changes since the first version in 2017.
@@BenWaltonNYC thank you for clarifying!
If you can get past all the "in the world" nonsense, it's a beautiful video.
Six hour rounds must be normal... Water boarding would be more fun.
wow. i have absolutely NO desire to play this course. a humbling experience it most definitely would be.
"Can a player hit a good shot only to be crushed with a horrific result then still find it within himself/herself to rise to the occasion on the next one? that's the essence of Pine Valley". so, what you're sayin is: "hit 'em good... but, even if you do,... you're screwed. but, hey.. chin up!"
Looks incredibly difficult. Forced carries, and awkwardly shaped greens. Sand on every hole, and its beauty, is almost obscured by the visual intimidation. I want to play there, when my game is infinitely better.
Now allowing women.........it's a start
in hoc …
I've played my fair share of North American golf courses. 90 out of the top 200 greatest, including Oakmont, Cypress, Wade Hampton, Pikewood, Muirfield, Pebble, you name it. I'll never be able to understand how this is the number one course in the United States... It is so redundant and so similar looking in the greens all have the same. Just hype and politics. I'd probably give it top 50.
dog track
you're drunk
I’ve caddied for many people who have played out there and and 90% say it’s overrated.
