Getting in to Warhammer 40k was no accident! Really it all began at school when a friend of mine brought in his 40k Rule Book and I was inspired by what I saw! I've been into the wargames hobby in general now for years and really enjoy it! I guess the good thing about wargames is the fact you can fight it out with your opponent on the wargames table without the worry of personal injury to yourself - well most of the time anyway! (I'm not exactly a body builder size wise)!
40K armies featured on my channel:

Man, that super heavy going supernova really changed the landscape of the battlefield. Maybe I'm overstating its impact but that one event really seemed to turn the match on its head. GG y'all!
No overstatement. That thing was essentially a super smite on every character the scorpions had. Like all the psykers he killed in the beginning of the battle came back through karma to get his characters.
Glorious! Thats what miniatures get these painted for: to look pretty on a beautiful battlefield, telling interesting stories for our entertainment.

Great report! I loved it. There were a few rough rule mistakes though... Eldrad has a 5 up vs all mortal wounds (he would have lived the explosion), you can definitely charge a unit you can't see as long as you are within 12 inches.

I've been on hiatus from Warhammer for a couple of months, and this was a perfect battle report to come back to. Excellent armies and terrain as always, a great guest, and a close game. Can't ask for more.

1:44:18 I'm quite sure that the ghosthelm allows you to ignore mortal wounds on a 5+ adding 3 to the result if it's perils of the warp so I guess he could ignore on 5+ the explosion rolls?

You can charge if you can't see the model. It's a tactic to deny overwatch. Am i wrong or do you have house rules stopping this?
yeh would be nice to have this clarified as its such a broken rule.... same as you cant overwatch if they're out of range??? they're charging towards you?!?!?!? why can you shoot??!

I've always played overwatch even if they fail the charge. Justification being they attempted to charge and were driven back by volume of fire/suppression
Makes more sense than the chargers failed to move forward for no discernible reason
@@Rob-fn1kp the rule and order is, you declare charge, you take the overwatch, you roll the charge. if they have short range wepons like flamers they must be within range from where the charge was declared from. no line of sight= no overwatch. this is how its always played doesnt need clarification really. i guess you can think of it like the charging units are ambushing you

I think the vindicare, plus eliminators might shift it for marines against eldar. Taking out psykers is key.
I'll say it again GW 😜 how is it ok for Eldar alaitoc to get -1 to hit everything and Ravenguard is just for infantry and dreads.
The wraithknight is a bit larger than a dreadnought 😁

Fantastic game and a major win for the Eldar. This list is continuing to excel. I think you've really cracked it with your Eldar Scorp. Even when the Spears dont make major impacts the list is still doing well. Its a great balance of multiple high priority threats. Love it. Great job by Tom as always. He always brings the fire. Love it. Thanks guys!

I truely think 40k needs a complete over haul of how turns work. The problem with 40k is its so shooting based that the first turn someone gets to unload there qhole army before the opponent gets to do anything. It puts way to much priority on getting the first turn. I personally think shooting should be like the combat phase in 40k. Where you get to choose a unit to shoot and then your opponent choses a unit to shoot. This would allow the second turn player to fire off some big guns in tandem with the first player. It would make the dynamic of the game more exciting and lead to more tense games. You would have to make other changes as shooting armies would be getting 2 turns of shooting before combat armies reach them. So you may have to move the charge phase before the shooting and do alternating movement,(you move all your units, i move mine) to prevent combat armies getting blown away.

Wow. So much death. That vindicare assassin took out pretty much every character on the board singlehanded. the eldar have the field but have literally no one left to give them orders. Culln taking out the avatar to buy the others time to withdraw. Pure awesome.

that eldar super heavy tank was sick, how come we hardly ever see or about it more often?
yes it is quite rare. So we try to use models like this in our special games:)
Been thinking about getting a scorpion ever since last firday when i played against a Castilian knight. That thing is pretty much forgeworld without been forgeworld and has an insane amount of damage output. So figuring on getting a Scorpion Pulsar to counter it. Also what yellowy Orange is that on the scorpion army? I really like it.
I think it was a really good idea to include those super heavies. They spiced things up nicely. The big explosion really change the shape of the game.
However I spot a mistake. After the big explosion you've lost all your striking scorpion except the Exarch. They you said he can not charge the psyker because he didn't see it. However when you select a target for charge the rules don't say you have to see them. In 7th edition the rules indeed said you have to see them, but that no longer applies.

First off, I believe the assassin the scorpions charged was in cover. Therefore, they would have bs 6+ yes, but get +1 one to hit rolls of enemies in cover. Secondly, "Herp derp Eldar cheese!" *Proceeds to play assassins and act like they are not busted*. Seriously though, those assassins murder like no other and are decently priced for what they do, not to mention the stratagem that is like lol spend a command point to get 2 for killing a character lulz. Also, battle focus lets eldar shoot their pistols even if they advanced.
This was a colossal fight! The superheavy detonation was devastating

Since you are using an index autarch. Why not use 2 avenger shuriken catapults and add the blazing star of vaul to have 10 shooting attacks at 12 inches. Rerolling 1s to hit as always and hitting on 2s.

Well he needs to consider maybe dropping a squad of rangers and taking a squad of guardians or avengers to bubbles wrap the seers

@@nickyhudson1100 the problem is he is tying up his scorpions normal to bunker wrap his seers. Which is handicapping him when he can easily replace a ranger squad with a guardian or just use the rangers.

Hmm all ur jetbikes could've been their own outrider detachment for +1CP and being 3k points u can take 4detachments. But I doubt 1CP will make a huge impact *fingers crossed* lol

The fact that the elder super heavy cant move and fire heavy weapons is a bit stupid tbh, a lot of normal tanks can do that.
Especially when the invuln encourages you to move it

I know you will always take Scorpions in this list, but I wondered how you feel about Banshees in comparison? I still can't decide which to take in my list.

Against marines 10 banshees or 10 scorpions, they average the same as far as kills and survivability. The banshees just a bit more survivable in combat because -1 to hit naturally, but get shot to death if you cant wrap. Where as scorpions can average more wounds and have 3+ armor. It is really more of what you want to play. The nice thing about scorpions is they have their own delivery system. Banshees need cp, a serpent or warlock support to be deadly. And quite frankly, there are better units to use said cp, a serpent or a warlock support on. Especially when an autarch can just take the ability to negate overwatch for free.

I know assassin's are supposed to be good, but the updated rules that GW has given them are kinda ridiculous. Holy God Emperor, do they not realise they've made an addition that forces so many armies to depend on characters to make things work? That vindicare took out at least 3 times his points value, while being nigh impossible to deal with.
If a psychic power is denied, then it isn't manifested, so no victory point for that I'm afraid. I've never seen anyone try to interpret it the way u have and I've known some dodgy arguments in my time.

I love how the scorpion is slightly cheaper in points than the astraeus but is better in almost every single way with a far more effective main gun
Eldar.. GW loves xenos. Look how much we pay for a stormraven and how much cheaper a hemlock is.
@@peters6345 lul, what? No. Xenos consistently get shit on - look at Necrons this edition, how long Orks/GSC had to wait, how bad Tau were initially, etc. Imperium is GW's primary line. They get so many new models, codices, and are consistently top-table winners at tournaments. I mean, just look at all the Knight stuff that's come out this edition.
@@ryanscott961 tau bad? That army curve stomps most of anything. Yeah Imperium gets new models, but the rules suck, new phobos captain costs 118 pts for 1 shot str4 2dmg.. and a knife. Or How about Suppressors a heavy weapon on a flying unit.. Or reivers a combat unit wit no ap on their weapons. On the other hand look at the hemlock, the wave serpent or riptide

Ryan Scott I think imperium soup combining everything good is powerful but more individual xenos codices can stand on their own two feet and destroy most single faction imperium lists

Dude, I love you battle reports and I frequently watch them as I build/paint!!
If I may offer one criticism, it's that you talk way too much and it's almost always repeating stuff you just said or (less frequently but still significantly enough) redundant information. I do leave part way through most reports to view other faster-paced reports because I get bored...
Again though, still love your reports, they are of great quality, would recommend to other hobbyists, but pacing is really slowed by amount of talking/repetition xD

Great game as always! I want to bring up an issue I've always had with this channel (been subbed for years now). Is it just me, or does the resolution really suck, and combined with the shakey cam style of filming really hold this channel back? It is literally the only thing keeping me from subbing to the premium site. I don't mean to sound picky, which I am sure I do, but with so many other channels with great content and great personalities, I really feel like you need to up your camera game. I will still totally support your YT channel, but if you ever up your filming fidelity, consider me insta subbed to your subscription site!
