Want to see my super nerdy way to have fun? The game is called #clonehero, and it's my new way to practice drums. The game is basically all the rockband games combined, but one key difference is it allows me to use my real E-drum kit as the controller. It also gives me feedback one my performance so I know which parts of the song to work on. It's a great way to learn songs note for note, and it's waaaayyy more fun than practicing to a metronome. I can also record my drums into my software at the same time and eventually turn it into a drum cover. Fun times! I only wish I had this when I was younger :)

probably the only downside to learning like this is that youre always tense when playing
That's because you're too focused on the chart. Once you know a song well enough, just use it as a guide, and play normally
As a drummer and a gamer, I support this 100%. Rock Band actually helped me learn drums more when I started
My buddy used to this on his drums in highschool except he didnt have anything actually hooked up. He used to just pull up rb3 pro drum videos in his phone and lay it on a music stand while just playing an acoustic kit. Love the idea of using triggers to actually play clone hero tho!
Thats what I do.. i have some videos posted. Now im trying to figure clone hero out and see if I can bring my rockband drums back without buying an xbox. Need a wireless adapter I am finding out.
Can you make a tutorial on how to do this? I recently got an edrum, thx
Great ! you say you can record your drums into your software. What are you recording ? The midi output or the audio output ? Which software are you using ? Audacity ? Cubase ? FL Studio ? etc ?
Loved your work with Blue Steel. I record both actually. For Midi, I use Steven Slate drum plugin for Reaper. And then for audio output, i just put it in garageband, but any of the others you mentioned would work too
just a question how did you get it to show you the song breakdown bc mine doesn't but i do remember RB & GH doing it. any idea how ?
It should show you at the end of each performance how you did in each section
where i can find song with drum charts to import to Clone Hero?

how are you triggering the cymbals??
I had go-edrum triggers on the underside of the low volume cymbals screwed in. These days though I just use the pintech electronic cymbals instead.
is that an acoustic kit made into an ekit? what are those cymbals u got a link?
Yep. Wuhan ora www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/WUORASET3--wuhan-ora-cymbal-set-14-16-20-inch
@@DaveonDrums thanks i meant the pads/triggers u have on the cymbals though

the problem with this game is probably when you got a chart from Rock Band games, most of the notes were altered, like flam notes, they weren't exactly plays like how we're gonna do flams on real drums. so i suggest you find a better chart that put the notes accurately.
No, just enter the midi notes accurately. Rock band flams yellow and red. So enter your snare midi note as yellow and red. When you view from a drummers perspective and align the midi notes accordingly, it works great
