It's just an AI synth voice clone, it is still scripted. The ai is just fed hours of Charlie talking and uses that to play text to speech. And the video is just a series of pre existing clips. It's not really AI except the algorithm creating the voice. Another human wrote the words though.
Humans are creatures of habit, it's in our nature. Even if it isn't apparent at first glance there are patterns in every single aspect of human life, from something as clearly distinguishable as their normal morning routine, to something as abstract as the individual mental processes someone goes through in their head in order to make a decision.
I have no problem hearing inflection in Charlie's voice but to be fair people also say my partner's voice is monotone and I have no problem hearing inflection from him either lol
The way that AI Charlie says "that's about it - see ya" does sound a bit different from the real Charlie - like, more high-pitched and robotic - but even that part was eerily convincing.
I'm pretty sure the "AI generated" video is just an AI Cr1tikal voice reading a script written by a human and the visual is just random clips cut together of the real Charlie, not a deepfake.
its very definitely a voice deepfake. the video is just there for effect. the script may or may not be ai generated, but its super easy to generate scripts like that.

I remember watching a clip from an Adobe conference years ago where they had a tool that could do this with audio, and it was so scary they never released it. They basically said you feed about 100 hours of voice recording and it would be very convincing. And the more you feed it the better it could be. I dont think AI celebs or AI movies could be successful... Its one of the main reasons why animated movies dont get much attention. Also we've recreated lab diamonds that are better than mined diamonds but people still want to buy the "real" ones.
The biggest limiting factor for deep-fakes is training data. That is, videos that can be fed into learning algorithms that then translate all the data into generated speech/video. This is important because this AI video of Charlie does so well simply because there are thousands of videos for it to watch and learn. With his example - Marilyn Monroe and John Lennon - there is a much more limited amount of footage to analyze. Both being celebrities means that there is likely enough data to make a deep fake in the first place, but it's quality and believability relies *very heavily* on having an excess of stuff to learn from.

TECHNOBLADE HAS CANCER AND I'M THROWING A PARTY BECAUSE OF HOW FUNNY IT IS! 😂😂😂
@@sigmanationriseup mfw 5 bots (not you) in a row
It's just an AI synth voice clone, it is still scripted. The ai is just fed hours of Charlie talking and uses that to play text to speech. And the video is just a series of pre existing clips. It's not really AI except the algorithm creating the voice. Another human wrote the words though.
Humans are creatures of habit, it's in our nature. Even if it isn't apparent at first glance there are patterns in every single aspect of human life, from something as clearly distinguishable as their normal morning routine, to something as abstract as the individual mental processes someone goes through in their head in order to make a decision.
well honestly, Charlie low key made it as easy for AI as he could, naturally being monotone, 25% computer already.
@Kavetion we don’t care care
I have no problem hearing inflection in Charlie's voice but to be fair people also say my partner's voice is monotone and I have no problem hearing inflection from him either lol
TECHNOBLADE HAS CANCER AND I'M THROWING A PARTY BECAUSE OF HOW FUNNY IT IS! 😂😂
I like how the AI pronounced the first half of 'Jojo's' right and then completely messed up the second half.

It is, that's what the creator himself said. It is a voice deepfake.
its very definitely a voice deepfake. the video is just there for effect. the script may or may not be ai generated, but its super easy to generate scripts like that.
yeah obviously
Yep, that is what the person who made it said
That being said he did a pretty good job selecting the clips
If it wasn't for the AI butchering any sense of inflection this would be absolutely terrifying.

i think there's some replies in this bot section
We have come to a point in technology where people can create nearly perfect deepfakes, go to space, modify DNA, and possibly terraform an entire planet, but UA-cam still can't deal with simple things like bots.
We are at a technological turning point and its pretty scary to think that we have no idea what people will do with these new technologies
@Lakehuntepic speaking of which
It's not that youtube can't, it's never been that they can't, it's that they won't. It doesn't benefit them in any way to take care of the bot problem so why would they care?
Consider that the technology behind the bots is also advancing at a rapid rate
@Flicks no I don't but that's a good point. I was under the impression it was easier to deal with bots but I'm wrong here so thank you for pointing that out. Either way though I still feel like even if it was an easy fix then youtube wouldn't do it because it doesn't benefit them to do so
CHARLIEEE my MAN! A friend sent me this video with a timestamp at 7:32 and I was delighted! Im a huge advocate for CRISPR and GMOs, Im a biology student and had three lectures just barely scratching the surface of this topic since my prof is super passionate about it, despite it not being part of the curriculum. The fact that your stance towards these amazing advancements in genetic engineering is positive is incredibly refreshing, the vast majority of the public doesnt understand how it works and gets stuck on the "gene editing" part, immediately declaring it as evil and moving on. Keep rockin friend!

I wonder if eventually, the AI will sound more lifelike than he does considering how monotone his voice is most of the time.
@Kavetion I wonder when Maximilianmus will stop sending you guys to spam for him. Maybe send him a few pics of yourself since you’re clearly underage he would like that. Hopefully you figure it out soon.
Did you hear that "see ya" at the end of the deepfake? There was genuine excitement there that critikal couldn't hope to portray with his voice
But then it wouldn't be Charlie anymore.

Think about how voice actors. Like they have enough voice data from the past few toy stories to where they could just use an AI Tom Hanks for Woody and it would totally work.
tbh, charlies voice is perfect for creating an artificial voice. probably wasnt too hard to do, cause there isnt much inflection when he talks and its mostly monotone. that is probably why its so convincing

Lol, I just realized it can go the other way as well. Like someone will say something extremely stupid, and then that person's fans will be like, "that was clearly just a deepfake."
I think that the deepfake ai is so good because of Charlie's voice being always on the same deep tone so the AI can learn it much much easier

That didn't look like a deepfake, there was no lip syncing, it just looked like footage from another video. I assume the guy used an AI to generate a passage to read, then used a voice replication AI to read it out, put it on top of pre existing footage and bam, you've got yourself a banger video
He didn’t even use an AI generated passage, he wrote a script. I’m pretty sure “ai” in the video is just a website that reads text in a sampled voice

I remember watching a clip from an Adobe conference years ago where they had a tool that could do this with audio, and it was so scary they never released it. They basically said you feed about 100 hours of voice recording and it would be very convincing. And the more you feed it the better it could be. And this was several years ago so who knows where it is now.
And in the hands of Adobe! ......yyyyeah..... that's actually so concerning..

Creepy fact: a couple weeks ago, somebody made an AI generated Klitschko, who is the mayor of Kiev and called different European countries foreign ministers, even some reported about the call. Imagine giving up war tactics in times like these to an AI Klitschko. Thankfully, it wasnt good enough and a lot of ministers realised. What a time to be alive.
