I really liked penguinz when all he did was make fun of dumb commercials. In recent years he's become a lot more like drama alert, and he's influenced his audience to be VERY condescending and judgmental and it's effected him even more so. I like the comical side of him but when he's serious he's often times being more a douchebag than those he's complaining about, comedy and "politics" never match.

I think the ancients referred to it as "Being Happy". I haven't read the sand-scripts personally, but I've heard on good authority that this phenomenon, although not having existed for over a century, is indeed the same one we are seeing presently in Charley.

I randomly stumbled upon Charlies channel a few years back after stumbling upon his videos about slapping. I liked his simple setup with lowkey video-production and his commentary so I stuck around. I'm glad I did. I don't watch all of his videos, but I do watch his videos when they're about a topic, which interests me enough. Especially his commentary on crazy carchases are hilarious.

For those who don’t know Charlie pioneered minimalistic content on UA-cam. He showed you just need a good personality and an interesting perspective, also he’s just naturally funny and clever. Dude literally turns on the camera, talks for 10 minutes and just says “see ya” and next thing ya know 1.4 million views.
Its easy when you have the most vanilla takes possible 😂
I don't know if he pioneered it but he was definitely on the general beginning zeitgeist and is probably the only one that has stayed true to that concept without faltering once. You can love or hate him and his content but no one can deny he's genuine.

One of my favorite things about him is how monotone his tone is, like he’s completely unfazed and knows how to fully express his thoughts in the most uninterested and blunt way. Which when you think about it, makes a lot of sense. When you live in Florida for as long as he has, not a whole lot surprises or shocks you

I think the reason he got popular is a combination of his chill demeanor, down-to-Earth attitude, and mostly reasonable opinions. Also his sense of humor and occasional fun stories.
he's basically a news outlet at this point, but instead of the watered down, fake garbage he actually delivers the truth

I watch a lot of these Wired interviews, but I've never heard of Moist CriTiKaL in my life, clicked on it cuz I was curious about who he is, but not sure i was interested ... then when he mentioned he was born in Tampa and went to The Castle, I felt an instant camaraderie. I, too, am a Tampa native who frequented The Castle throughout my 20s. 😅 Now I definitely wanna know more about this Charlie dude

Charlie is like the Keanu Reeves of UA-cam, and of the hunger games franchise. Just like matrix wouldn't be matrix without Keanu, the hunger games wouldn't be the hunger games without Charlie thanks to his awe inspiring performance as District 8 Hospital Helper.
